I was a range safety officer for a bit, and I got to shoot all the full-autos (FA) a bit. In my experience: shooting the HK MP5 and the Kriss Vector one after the other, the difference in recoil was mind blowing, and not in the way you might first think. The MP5 was so pleasant to shoot, easy as hell to hold on target during full auto fire. The Vector's recoil, in both .45 ACP and 9mm, was DEVASTATING. At least I couldn't handle it. Couple more brief addendums, I shot a 9mm G18 at FA WITH an attached stock; incredible muzzle rise, not a fan. FA M4A1 with red dot, FUN, of course, not effective, however. You guys absolutely deserve this. You have taken the military FPS genre by storm with something so simple-looking, yet made with so much love and care. You reminded everyone what really matters in a game and made something with a lot of heart and charm. Keep up the fantastic work.
I can confirm about AK recoil. The recoil shown is about correct for an AK-47, but the 74 fires the 5.45x39mm...which is far lighter. (more like the NATO 5.56x45mm.)
It brings me joy seeing a game dev happily celebrating that highly respected reviewers love their game. They deserve all the praise they get and their spot on the top
The fact that your character doesn’t forcefully slaps the charging handle from the MP5 also bugged me a bit 😅 I hope it gets a animation rework so he actually slaps that filthy charging handle 😜 But it’s amazing that you guys actually acknowledge his feedback and i hope a second reaction releases.
MY ONLY gripe with the review is that he didnt go through the different attachments!! and all the bells and whistles for each gun. battlebits really is impressive. BEST 15 IVE EVER SPENT.

@@Schimml0rd First I would like to premise this with the fact that I am not an expert on firearms, history, or war. "However, that superiority in terms of rate of fire and hitting the target in real terms may be an inch or two per 100 yards." - Some cool gun guy on Quora So to answer your question I think a modern bolt action is only minorly superior to the previous generations of weapons you mentioned. That is, if we are specifically talking about bolt action weapons.
@@Schimml0rd less options for customization, weight, ergonomics, quality of the parts which impacts accuracy, capacity, calibers that might not be as optimal for the job as more modern ones (for example the amount of recoil compared to the effective range etc), it all adds up.

I saw a couple of firearms I have actually used and I am just as impressed as he was with the way you have managed to capture important details and silhouettes whilst still being low polygon count. Amazing stuff, and great attention to detail across the board; even his strongest criticisms were actually nitpicking, because you set the bar so high.
Its so refreshing to see the Devs Generally Interested in their game and Im so glad a purchased it right when it came out, I've played the playtests and the proximity chat People aren't Overtly toxic just generally having a great time and having fun playing the game.
seeing the dev both hyped and excited aswell as very observant what the expert has to say; it shows true passion for his work, not only pride, but also the will to make it as good as possible... I think I'm going to get this game soon, not only because it looks fun, but also because it is a cause and team worth supporting
These guys being prepared to take a hammering in critique publicly and take notes directly from an expert is amazing. Developers for the AAA games should take note and be prepared to learn from experts and the people who buy and ply their games
That was super wholesome. As someone who did the job for real & went to armorer's school I know I can clearly tell why the game is called remastered. A LOT of love & care went into the guns & almost all of them work properly and cycle like their IRL equivalents. You guys did a great job & I'm enjoying the crap out of the game.
I love how giddy the Dev looks here and it really is a well done game. Very well done that overshadows Triple A companies with their 'impressive' game nowadays. Jonathan is also always a pleasure to watch on screen.
Funnily enough, the physical, on-rifle range finder would not be difficult to use if you know your dope (your ranging/drop+drift data) by heart. Shooting rifles like that is often fairly aimple to just open both of your eyes and shift focus between down-range and up close by using the different eyes. It'd be a fairly simple matter to check your range by just opening an eye, glancing at the display, and then refocus back into the scope. For the limitation of video games, I think how it shows up in the scope is perfectly fine, as it achives basically the same effect as what I described
my steam account got hacked and now i had to rebuy the game for the second time and i just lost my 1200 cs go knife, this video brought me joy, keep uploading!
Also the Royal Armouries are in collaboration with Team17 for Marauders a.k.a Space Tarkov. The amount of rare and obsure variants of guns they have in that game is fairly impressive, but it's still rough and in early access. Marauders' direct collaboration with Royal Armouries is probably one of the main factors on why they've haven't done an episode on it yet; they're waiting for a more complete version so they can show off their very best efforts.
I will probably be making a game soon, doubt it'll have many guns in it but I literally used to live about 2 miles from the royal armouries coulda got that easy haha.
About Vector and "recoiless" guns in general: they all have recoil just because there is a bolt that slaps if not at the end but at least when round goes into the chamber. It's not vertical move, but it is a move. You can implement it as slight random horizontal moves because your armes are not made out of concrete. This can be a way to balance guns like Vector and AK, with a slight moves that obscure vision, but bring sight back. There was some guns in Battlefield 5, I think, that was slightly worse just because their recoil was overshooting return point, and that just on bolt rifles - you can't just aquire target back as quick as on the other one that did not have overshoot in aiming.
The Expert mis-spoke about the LSW. As it is the L86A1 in-game, not the A2 that he is holding, the cocking handle in game is correct as the pear shaped cocking handle he shows was only added as part of the A2 upgrade program. The A1 had a round cocking handle as shown in game.

Of all the games to lead the Battlefield/CoD war I never thought it would be one looking barely better than Minecraft. But given the genuine passion I'm seeing from this dev I can really see why it's got things so right.
This is so heartwarming and awesome to see him excited!
Being a Dev get Feed Back by Jonathan is literally a Message from god.
I've seen a few people review Vector and several of them said that there IS recoil, its just distributed in a weird way that made the gun less comfortable to use for them lmao
Recoil on vector is pushing down, it’s uncomfortable because you actually have to push gun slightly up
hes so genuinely happy about the guy pointing out stuff they got right. these devs just keep showing themselves to be truly committed
Something I think they could do, is give all the support weapons bipods.
You know you made it when Johnathan Ferguson, The Keeper of Firearms and Artillery in the Royals Armories Museum in the UK, makes a video about your in game weapon models and giving out Ws after Ws.
So glad all your hard work is paying off, and verbally taking on the great constructive criticisms, this game is amazing and I'm glad it's getting the recognition it deserves
BattleBit Remastered Dev stands there in silence as firearms expert reacts to Battlebit guns
You guys are doing a brilliant job, seriously impressive.
It brings me joy seeing a game dev happily celebrating that highly respected reviewers love their game. They deserve all the praise they get and their spot on the top
it must be such a euphoric feeling to get such professional criticism while still being shown the respect the game devs deserve
The fact that your character doesn’t forcefully slaps the charging handle from the MP5 also bugged me a bit 😅 I hope it gets a animation rework so he actually slaps that filthy charging handle 😜
But it’s amazing that you guys actually acknowledge his feedback and i hope a second reaction releases.
I wonder how the firearm expert would react to this video
Multiverse of React
MY ONLY gripe with the review is that he didnt go through the different attachments!! and all the bells and whistles for each gun. battlebits really is impressive. BEST 15 IVE EVER SPENT.
These devs are way too humble.
Like you made a game that's better than the last 5 Battlefield games as 3 guys and you're not even stopping.
Most deserving guys of some time off^^
This guy is a developer to be inspired by
if I ever get my mental health shit figured out enough to put the work in to release a whole game, this is the dude I wanna be like. Excellent.
Jonathan is a real gamer, not just a fire arms expert, he funny understands what yall are going for with the low poly style
its nice seeing devs actually enjoy what they do
This is great! They just uploaded part 2 today!
I don't know if the devs weill see this but I suggested it on the GameSpot video as well.
Perhaps you guys could do something where the Devs visit the Royal Armouries and Jonathan lets them hold, inspect, and work some of the mechanisms of the weapons. Since the game is doing pretty well maybe they could offer a donation to the Museum.
Just a thought. Would love to see more.
BattleBit is the benchmark how game should feel like !
This is glorious, How cool to have a legit expert review your game like this.
would love to see some older weapons added too, kar98, mosin, svt40, ppsh. any ww2 era guns really :)
I would love to see them added! Naturally they should be true to life and as such should be objectively worse than most of the modern guns. But yeah seeing them added would be super cool!
@@turtleman5405 tell me what makes an old bolt action worse than a new bolt action^^
@@Schimml0rd First I would like to premise this with the fact that I am not an expert on firearms, history, or war. That being said I am going to pull heavily from online sources that know more than I do. From everything I've read modern firearms are generally superior in ammo capacity, ergonomics, sights, and materials.
"However, that superiority in terms of rate of fire and hitting the target in real terms may be an inch or two per 100 yards." - Some cool gun guy on Quora
So to answer your question I think a modern bolt action is only minorly superior to the previous generations of weapons you mentioned. That is, if we are specifically talking about bolt action weapons.
I think they are going with the sim that you are a modernly equipped army and there would be no reason they needed to revert to something super old.
@@Schimml0rd less options for customization, weight, ergonomics, quality of the parts which impacts accuracy, capacity, calibers that might not be as optimal for the job as more modern ones (for example the amount of recoil compared to the effective range etc), it all adds up.
Thank you and your two bros for making this game! I having so much of a blast and i am feeling a little bit younger!
Happy for you guys, haven‘t played the game but i heard a lot of positives! Good job and good luck onwards!
I so happy for you du de. I watched the original video, and theres comments on it about your reaction. And I believe they've mentioned it again in other videos, but I could be gaslighting myself on that. But you did an excellent job on it. Made me want to play it.
you guys deserve all the love for the fantastic work you've done. love the support from the community 🙂
Thats gotta feel real good to see and hear!
So excited to see the "soon to be shorter RPG fragmentation rounds" ❤😂 These devs are awesome its so fun to watch them riding this wave of success & immediately taking note of everything they can fix, improve, tweak and/or add to the game! I just wish I could mod it so I could hear a "Roblox Oof" every time a player gets downed
What is refreshing is this developer being excited to add quality feedback to the game. Kudos!
Pretty cool, guys. It's not the kind of game I would generally play, but been hearing very good things about it.
And now they just released part 2 Let's go!!!!!
Meanwhile triple A publishers claiming games are to hard to make nowadays and demanding higher prices for their products.
Started playing this weekend and I love it. It's fun, its fast paced and the gunplay feels really awesome. Keep up the great work.
I love how the dev is so happy that he is having the guns reviewed.
Good luck with your channel
GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO BATTLE BIT!
I love watching that expert speak. I love learning new things about firearms, and i love that i dont know everything:)
Aw this is so wholesome, I love it!
yo shoutout to this guy and all the other devs of this beautiful game
This is essentially the same a getting a free consultation from a firearms expert for any details they may have missed in the gun models.
my steam account got hacked and now i had to rebuy the game for the second time and i just lost my 1200 cs go knife, this video brought me joy, keep uploading!
This fills my heart with joy. So happy for these guys.
The joy at the begining!!! Such a wholesome moment
If i were a developer on a game using real weaponry, I would bring this guy in as a consultant
Some games have, Johnathan talked about how he advised the devs of Sniper Elite 5 in his video on the game's weapons.
@@SSgtJ0hns0n Love Marauders. I seen the video of him talking about a few guns in the game with the Developer
you guys deserve all the praise, such a complete and fun game
The devs did a great job here and looks like he will work to improve it to make it realistic. I love this!
I'm so glad to see this game crushing the competition, Bravo 👏
Speaking of sniping distance of 845 meters, I got 1175 as my max on sv98 and seen someone get 1800 meters, it was insane
GG guys! You deserve all the praise!
This is awesome. Love seeing them/him witness such glowing praise
I love how excited they got for seeing the hard work recognized.
these guys killed it on Battlebit, love how this may make the mainstream companies wake up
i almost teared up, seeing your reaction. Kudos
You can tell he's impressed because he started giving really minute corrections like a teacher lol. Usually it'd be him having a gentle cursed aneurysm.
The honey Badger should just hit the bolt catch button upon employ reload, same with the M110.
