RV Crash - How We Overcame It In 6 Weeks

Our RV adventures came to a screeching halt on January 3rd 2020 when we had crashed our trailer in the middle of Texas, and were stranded by our insurance company. In this week's video, I finally tell the story of our catastrophic trailer crash, how we overcame it, and how it affected our future plans.

The cause: We think a strong gust of wind came and hit the trailer. The vibration my wife was feeling, was the trailer slowly losing control. When we spoke with the police officer and the tow truck, they said strong gusts of wind in the area were super common. We did have anti-sway bars as well as a weight distribution hitch, although that did not help. Everything happened so fast that I simply did not have the presence of mind to hit the trailer brakes, and neither did my wife. That would have absolutely straightened out the trailer and saved us from the crash, but unfortunately, that is not what happened.
So what we did to prevent that in the future was to buy a Hensley hitch. Check out the next video in which I explain the upgrades we made after this incident. Thanks for your comments and for watching!
