"your uncle will become a statistic" 😂😂😂😂😂
Uncle Jeff better not sober up, unless he wants to be a Boerboel statistic.

My last landlord’s dog would go batshit crazy every time someone came to the door. I could not attend zoom meetings at home. It was awful.
Great life problems 🤡

Socializing a guardian type of dog isn’t going to make them less protective, it just teaches them when to turn those instincts on. Dogs are smarter than they look, a well socialized dog is going to know if someone shows up with the wrong intentions. An unsocialized dog is going to think that everyone has the wrong intentions because they’ve never never learned about other humans
Exactly this.
exactly...have a shepherd that struggles to turn it off(covid pup) and a Mastiff that is a ham out and about, unless he's with her or "mom"
Yep I trust my dogs instinct more than my own. They now when someone has bad intentions

People don’t realize that guard dogs aren’t supposed to HATE people
they don't, any 5 year old child with half a brain can "train" them. it's takes a lot of stupidity and laziness to wind up with a dangerous dog regardless of the breed
So true !

As a South African, i love the fact they don't even try to say boerboel and just say mastiff. It takes the fun away from it, but it is a very lovable dog.
Yes your right
But to each their own right?
Raised right, like all dogs.
ja nee ek stem saam ou
As a South African you'll know technically they can be classed as different breeds as well as the ysterberg mastiff. All lumped together under the same breed outside of SA
About like people calling cane corsos "cane like the candy or stick" instead of cah-nay. Erks me sometimes when people know better but refuse to correct themselves.
Actually, that's very true; you've probably heard of it a lot; I hear people say it a lot: "I don't want my dog to be friendly because I want him or her to protect the house." I've seen some UA-cam videos where if some just pass by, they lunge at the person or dog. It's really gruesome and awful that some people, like mailmen, have actually been killed by doing such a simple task.

This is one of the most beautiful Boerboels I've ever seen.
He has that puppy dog face... my corso has that same look and it's hard not to love.
Having had many of the Boerboels, they are incredibly loyal and loveable pups that behave like lapdogs to his friends but your worst nightmare if you are sneaky around them. Socialization isn't only needed but control of your pup at all times is necessary given that the biggest guy I had was 85kg (185+lbs). To maintain focus on me, I used to use visual commands most of the times.
Thank you it not bout jus socializing if u don’t have control of ur animal if ur not the alpha in house ur dog will do what it wants
Facts, my Boerbol is 145lbs to my 98lbs, luckily they are super eager to learn and very responsive, that being said I have watched him toss multiple dogs like Ragdolls without even trying, sent our neighbors Pyrenees booking it for stepping into our yard with our chickens around. Definitely a dog that needs constant and serious socializing, but such lovable clowns.
My boy only got up to 168 lbs, but it was 168 lbs of pure hell if he really tried. Like you said visual queues worked best. These big boys know they cant test you at times. Happens with big, strong dogs at times. Boerboels are the greatest breed ever created. Best looking, great protection, nice size, great temperment, generally a healthy breed. ❤
More Boerboel content please 🙏
He just walked right by that Jack Russell that was trying to meet him. Amazing self control. Didn’t even flinch and just ignored it. Amazing dogs and amazing training
I miss my Boerboel a lot.
Best dog we have ever had.
And yes socialization and trining from a young pup is very important.
Beautiful pup Sir.
Stranger isn’t an issue, threat from a stranger is an issue.
This is valid for all dogs, not just boerboels.
I love the fact that you even dressed like a "Boer “ running errands at the mall in the middle of Bloemfontein 😂😂
The advice you are giving is essential ✨️ for anyone who has a protection dog 🐕 so the dog doesn't get put down. Do the right thing by your dogs.
As a south african and a boerboal owner i can vouch, if boerboels are raised correctly they are absolutely the best family and protection dog, this does include socializing with other dogs and people, as well as basic training
if socialized properly they can be the kindest most gentlest dog
Yes I agree! I have raised and bred and trainings the Boerboels over 15 years. They MUST be socialized! I socialized pups before they ever went to their new homes. Their instinct to protect is deep. My favorite male (looked like a white tiger) Zazu…was well socialized. He loved everyone. One day I had a garage sale. People were on and off the land all day. He was…”pet me pet me”! But at the end of the sale, a small white pick up started coming down my 600’ driveway…Zazu knew from that far…instantly he went into high protection mode and ran full speed down the drive…and i thought he was going to ripe the guy out of his truck! Intense…and turns out…they were scoping my place to rob (so I found out the next weekend) they broke in while i was out. My dogs corralled the guy into my shop. I called the cops…right away my Zazu was mr politician and was like…pet me pet me…lol the cops were freaked out over the dogs and instructed his buddies to look for hand, fingers and toes …i kinda laughed…he was serious and knew the damage my dogs could do in protection mode.
Best breed I ever had. But if you don’t socialize…you will have a loaded gun. And if you dont have a leader personality…they can even turn on their handler…(a few famous cases happened from imports years ago).
Beautiful dog and I love seeing them well trained. I think this is one of the most important parts of training up a dog.
Seeing him completely ignore that Jack Russell put a smile on my face
That is one big and gorgeous boerboel. Love from SA.🇿🇦
As a South African as well, i would love this breed, because i have a big property for him/her to play and all my neighbours have obedient and playful honde for him to socialize with
I love the way you explain things. Straight forward and to the point. But funny at the same time. Keep up the good work.
He speaking facts, as former breeder of German Rottweilers. I received a puppy that owner didn't interact with his litter. Puppy was huge at 3 months but would look down and growl even after me feeding him 2 weeks straight.
The small dog: "COME AT ME BRO COME AT MEEE"
South African Boerboel: "do you hear something?"
Thank you always for what you do and things that you tell us that we would not normally think about. You're such a wise person.
My parents Boerboel (60 kg’s) spotted someone moving by our homes glass door (around 5 mm thick glass) and immediately bolted for the door in protection mode.
Piper has a frame on him so stopping is not a strong suite of his. He ran into that glass door like a bowling ball hitting pins. Totally cracked the glass without even flinching. Kept on barking and moving forward even when the person was out of sight. Incredibly protective breed and they are just built like absolute tanks
There used to be a Saint Bernard in my neighborhood that would frequently get loose and chase after other dog walkers including my aunt who was walking our dog one day. And honestly I was very upset that my aunt did not call the police when this occurred because my neighbor had to tackle and fight the dog so it didn't get her or my dog, he was biten and scratched up afterward. I should mention that the irresponsible owners were also irresponsible parents that had their kids walk the dog (10 and 8) and the older boy hurt himself falling down when the dog took off. Pretty sure they got rid of him since I haven't seen him in months. Socialization is so fucking important, especially with these big breeds.
So many people have no business owning a Boerbel. The amazing guardian breed needs lots of socialization and training.
I've owned two, and they're definitely not like most large breed dogs. As massive and powerful as they are, they are also surprisingly energetic and agile. They have a very strong protective instinct and will die for their families without a second thought. They're not for everyone, but with proper training and conditioning, they can make great family dogs. Popular here in South Africa and are by far the best breed I've ever owned.
I had a Boerboul for ten years. The most amazing animal ever. He was socialized early and was good with guests. I have no doubt he would do what was necessary if mama was afraid.
Man I love your Channel I'm a Dog Man true and through and you do a Fantastic job educating people. God Bless Bro
Love how the terrier is being such a bad dog and getting in his face, yet the mastiff stays completely unfazed and ignores everything the little bastard was doing🤣🤣
That Jack Russel was ready to take out that Boerboel.
Hallo man. Much love from Zimbabwe. Acquired an 8month German Shepherd and at first l thought l had got a pooping and submissive peeing machine. But thanks to you, he now understands basic commands and he doesn’t freeze when l put a leash on him
I rescued one of these dogs from a puppy farmer. She was a beautiful dog
Biggest way you can threaten someone: "my dog gonna make sure you become part of the statistics"
Thank you for all this great information you freely share. You’re the best 🎉
You want your dog to be able to tell the difference between a regular, normal person and a person who is acting strange, aggressive, etc.
Good advice!! There is a need for more of this type of information on large breed dogs.
We purchased your puppy essentials and e collar mastery course, and began training our boerboel Yogi at 8 weeks. Now he’s almost 5 month old, 85 lbs., and a complete stud. I’ve owned and trained a number of dogs and your course have by far been the most helpful.
And also when the Boerboel is alone he's a scared dog , just like Scooby Doo
He is such a beautiful animal tho. The color of his coat is so pretty 😍
Thanks for the advice! Will be really helpful to me in the future when I (hopefully) get a dog!
I just met one of these in the UK for the first time today. Actually a farm of them, they were the softest friendliest dogs I've ever met and absolutely enormous.
Ours was given poison stuffed inside a piece of steak. Killed her, then they stole our truck all in the middle of the night. RIP Nala.
I‘m sorry. RIP 🕊
Holy hell I’m so sorry to hear that people are nasty
All the dogs I had, no one could feed them except my mom, sister or myself and I trained them never to eat unless it was in the bowl, not even on the kennel floor.
I am sorry. RIPNala
Wtf 😢 did they ever catch the people who did it? RIP Nala ❤

Amen to those words!
I've had Boerboels for over 20 years and bred them for a very long time. I never put prong collars and shock collars on em. It's hard to see a dog trainer using both on a very young Boerboel under a year old when it's unnecessary. Socialize is key and they will protect you no matter how socialized. They are very loyal & Loving to their people. This breed NEEDS to bond with their family with Positive Reinforcement, not harsh discipline. They should be with their family and not locked away in a crate or kennel as well.
I agree as I have had this awesome dog for about as long as you have.
Always use positive reinforcement training, it'll go really really bad quickly if you don't.
This is not a dog for the starting pet owner.
Advice training needed for the owners of a Boerboel.
Agreed! I use a gentle leader and voice and hand signals with my 6 year old Boerboel on walks. Very loving and social dog who knows friend from foe.
That Jack Russell wanted all the smoke 😂😂😂
❤ That is such a beautiful dog
Thank you Sr for your help and guidance
Big Facts big Dogg 💯
Always have Boerboels as child we were 5 kids the best dog with children my Dad taught us to respect them greetings from South Africa
A client just put his 2 year old boerboel down. They had a baby a few months ago and he tried showing dominance over the baby. He bit around 10 people and started growling at the parents
It was a good ride uncle Jeff 😂
He is a beautiful animal regardless. I enjoy your videos
My gsd knew who was a friend and who wasn't, she barked liked crazy and fiercely to strangers, she was the best guard dog ever, and I didn't want her to socialize because i wanted her to Protect my home, and she did it perfectly
I love your dog 😍 and your 100% right!
Absolutely Socializing is so important #1 , all my dog's been socialized !! I agree 💯
Great input and advice
Excellent advice
Some good points here!!
Exactly, and train them that not everyone is a threat
That Mastiff was in harm's way at the end, as that Jack Russell was restrained from giving him the business!👀👀🤣
I love the language you use. Poor Uncle Jeff is gonna become a statistic XD
My Boerboel did have socialization right as he came to my home at 2 months he went around my neighborhood and everyone loved him and he was gentle with everyone even though their were other dogs jealous of him
Great advice!
These dogs are all over here in South Africa, beautiful but strong dogs. 🇿🇦
You got to love the boerboel!!
Such a handsome dog
Perfect way to word it. There’s a lot of people out here who don’t care about the mailman or friendly neighbor, but the thought of their guard dog in a crate and unable to guard is a good motivator
Great advice
If I wanted a dog that would protect my home I'd bring it to a trainer like you. Protecting the home is my job and there is zero doubt in mind he will pitch in if needed. Just owning a beast like that is deterrent itself. They bark when you ain't home. Burglars don't wanna find out if he's friendly or not. Your opinion is spot on.
Damn right!!! That dog is no joke. I LOVE them but fear them too incase of any accidents. Gotta train them right.
That Jack Russell toward the end was like heyyyyyoooo
My 9 month young pit bull male and a 1,5 years 75kg Boerboel male are best buddies. Socialization is the key
they are still puppies if its different sex its ok
Thank you, as an owner of a giant breed, this is so important!
Love Boerboels. Can’t wait to get another one
Seriously no one should have a dog like this as just a pet, working breeds are on another level. Gorgeous but so many people get dogs they have no business in owning cause they won’t put the work in to let the dog be successful.❤
A license would be a better idea. Cuz these dogs can literally be weapons in the wrong hands, and they are hard to manage/stop due to their size.
😂😂😂
Definitely our boy was basically our farm dog for the first 8 years of life, we've now moved to the city and he's slowed down with age and enjoys the quiet life but I can't imagine what he could do in the hands of a first time dog owner or someone who thought a pitbull was in anyway close to handling a Boerbol to extremely different dogs, I forget how big he is until I see him with other mastiffs and am like "yup, my lazy potato dog can seriously pack a punch if he wanted👀"
Agree 💯. Just because you like the breed doesn't always mean a good fit, I love several breeds that I will never own because I am not at the level they need me to be to thrive, everyone should know what they can honestly handle,
Sage advice !
Listen !
He's right. High intelligent guardian bleeds like Boerboels and Rottweilers can be fully socialized and still be very capable of guarding you and your family. They know when it's time to not be friendly anymore.
If "drunk uncle Jeff" became a statistic, maybe he'd get his life together and stop crashing at my place unannounced. 😉
Mann the outfit is killing me😂😂😂
He looked like he was ready to get at the camera man for just being in sight 😂😂
Thanx for sharing
All our Boerboels followed us to the gate when people came visiting. They got to know every person coming to visit or for whatever reason. They definitely knew when to be on guard. My children and their friends were always safe with the Boerboels always being near where ever they were playing. I used to say to people who were not afraid of dogs, they should not mind the drool, dogs just friendly. People whom were afraid of dogs, would put dogs outside, but still where they can see us.
That’s very true info that you’re giving even sometimes with all the socializing you do you still have to be careful with the dog because they have switches, and when they are turned on, it will put the fear God in you , if you’re not ready,
He's beautiful and sounds like a great guard dog
Thank you 🌞
Drunk Uncle is pretty funny
Very off topic, but can we appreciate how cute the dog is! So pretty
"You don't want to be on the business end of a dog like this in full protective drive". I wouldn't want to be on the business end of a dog like that if he was having a happy, cheerful day. He''s too big and strong, and could hurt someone just by being playful.
I guess if ur a paper skinned glass boned loser that never works out sure?? 😂
Drunk uncle Jeff 😂😂😂😂
Got two lovely boerboels. One at the farm and one at my home in the city. Lovely breed of dogs, but obedience & social training is a must.
Good advice
Lol the small doggo at end 😂
Brother, that’s such a good piece of advice. My dog loves everyone but when she sees them she barks uncontrollably she’s a black lab pit mix and she’s a beautiful dog.
Great info
