Although I agree that we have come across and heard the unreleased "leaked" tracks & demos like "Night Line", "Hot Street", 2 versions of "She's Trouble", "Slapstick" (Hot Street Demo), Starlight (Thriller Demo) and "Got the Hots" was previously released on "Thriller 25" in Japan and made it's U.S. Digital debut on "The Ultimate Fan Extras Collection" via iTunes (same with the full "3 minute" version of "Carousel"), but to possibly see them get an official physical/digital release on "Thriller 40" and hear them in Clear/Higher audio quality would definitely be a BIG plus in my opinion.
Those albums were huge but the estate pretends they don't exist. Also, the vinyl market is still going strong but no re-release of History or Blood On The Dancefloor. It's like they are actively avoiding easy profit opportunities.
I feel like we are all missing the fact that those Thriller album songs are still unheard to anyone and might have a chance to make it onto the album: - Midnight man - Rolling the dice - Spice of life - Stand tall - Who do you know - Nymphette lover - Much toon soon 1981 - And more…
Agreed!! although I wasn't around when Thriller was released I had family members who lived through the Thriller era saying "it was a huge deal aside from its success on the charts and everybody and their families wanted to be him." So my thing is for something that influential and accomplished so much to the music industry to not be properly honored by the Jackson estate they should rightfully be ashamed.

Some of you expressed your concerns about the change to the original Thriller album cover packaging as part of the 40th anniversary celebration. We wanted to share with you that the original album packaging is not being replaced permanently - only as part of the campaign to celebrate this milestone anniversary this year - after the campaign concludes, the original packaging will continue to be used on all pressings of the Thriller album. It is very common for artists to make changes to album packaging to mark special milestones like anniversaries, remastering, etc. including Michael who changed the photo, layout and treatment on the lettering for Thriller 25. And, to be honest, it is something that we think is a smart thing to do. In this case, the photo comes from the same photo shoot but is slightly different and the biggest change is just to the font for the lettering so that, overall, it feels both familiar and new at the same time. I could be wrong but I read somewhere they are only doing a 2 disc release to test the waters after the trouble that came from HBO and that "documentary" If thats the case, I understand going this route but the die hard fans, like myself, will clamor to the store and buy it. My only worry are the bonus tracks they pick but hopefully they get announced soon

I preordered the 1step vinyl. The mccartney half speed masters sound super and you can hear the differences on those and those were not remixed, so I'm pretty excited to hear the original master recording of thriller.

I stupid excited for the demo side, I'm a huge fan of this era and believe these demos are unbeatable, that being said I'm also scared it may just be a rehash of what we already heard, but there's a chance we can get a rolling the dice, spice of life, attitude etc or even an original behind the mask track 🤞🤞

Haven't you heard? Comic Sans is OUT, nowadays, it's all about that Papyrus :) The logo is literally the "live laugh love" font you see in TJ Max and Target. The mere notion that they ever thought they'd get away with pushing this past the fans without scrutiny makes me YELP like a chubby chad being prodded with twigs while being roasted over a fire. They said they wanted to mesh the old with the new. They're so out of touch with what's "modern" lol. Today's modernity is considered "post modernity", meaning we've left the exclusive 20 year nostalgia cycle, we now live in a time (via the internet) where you can repackage any era up until 2010, where the recent memory kicks in. I would ASSUME an artist would know this, and be aware that the classic Thriller cursive would be perfect today's era? lol I, personally, would release it exactly as it was - except it's a box set, 180g vinyl, all the unreleased demos, no remixes (to prevent dating it), include all the photography/headshots from that era, include all the short films with making of segments - maybe even Someone in the Dark or some of the other material from that period. I'd try to have both originals and remasters. Of course also release a CD with the essentials. But, hey, what do we know, we're just lifelong fans who know more about Michael and his legacy than probably most of the people working for the estate.
The only way to get new releases (Dangerous 35th) ... is to buy whatever they release if it makes $$$$ . One step closer to a decent Dangerous release.
