Spinderella being a female DJ made the group SNP stand out in rap by being an all female hip hop group at the time. With the exception of the Hot, Cool & Vicious album, Spinderella was on the cover of every album after that and is a part of their success. The fact that there was a female DJ was inspirational and groundbreaking. Facts! Regardless of what legal issues or petty issues amongst them- history cannot be rewritten. I love Salt's perspective on her "why" for the movie. She was very mature, professional, and considerate of other people. She is a good friend to tell her friend Pep that she needed a break from her for herself. Pep, though hurt, was mature enough to understand her friend and not kick her to the curb, but give her the space. Pep is on 10 and that is her personality. I'm glad she doesn't let folks box her in and she freely expresses herself. A good publicist would help her organize her thoughts to project more clearly., but overall if a person just listens you can understand her. The way I see it Spin was not in the group of SNP. She was their DJ. She did her job and "extra duties as assigned" like any other person would at work. She did enhance the group. She missed out by not developing or negotiating her contracts. Her beef should be with the person who brought her in to DJ and other managers. If she wanted to do other gigs, she should have done that. No different than a person with multiple streams of income or multiple jobs. Just work the schedule so you are not in breach of any agreements. I saw in an interview that SNP gave her money as she complained even though her lack of contracts was not their issue. She also could have left the DJ job (and other jobs for them) if she didn't like the compensation. Accepting the compensation, being mad about it or thinking it's not fair, and then blaming SNP for what you got is a reach (unless I am missing something). Seems SNP was focusing on keeping their papers straight that they weren't taking on Spin's papers, too. She was an independent contractor it seems, not a member of SNP. They were the group before she came along. We cannot compare the 3 of them to other groups because Cheryl and Sandy were the group. Spin could have even marketed herself as SNP's DJ and whoever else's DJ including being an independent. Hopefully she has learned a lot from her mistakes, is more up on the business. She seems happy with her personal and professional life, but needs to get over her beef with SNP.

How do you come to that conclusion? She was disgruntled for years because she felt she should be the third member. They always had a legal duo and never changed that. Spin was pushing the envelope and purposefully didn't do at least two shows (which she posted on Instagram in early 2019). That's when they ended their working relationship with her and all this started. Spin is playing victim and tried to force their hand. If she joined their group legally named salt n pepa and they hired her as an employee, I don't see why she'd be pushing the issue still. She chose that hill to die on. It all seems a little narcissistic on her part. I remember back in 2013 or 2014 when she and her manager started this twitter beef with salt and she said "nobody knows me, and I blame Salt". Then Salt says we can work something out. Next thing you know Spin is back with them (because she had stopped DJing with them) and now she's back to the same complaint. Seems like people are mad because she is doing the woe is me act, but no one was in an uproar when they toured for 5 or 6 years without her. Did anyone even notice?

Just like Salt said “they’ve been wanting to do a movie,” they never wanted to include Spin from the start, just like they didn’t want her in the group after the first Spin left because of Cheryl. Sandy just goes along with it. Like Nas said: It ain’t hard to tell!
36 years they had Deidre as an employee but sent mixed messages as if she was apart of the group. You can’t tell someone that they “should’ve gotten their business in order,” if they’re an employee. Spin has been trying to get her business affairs in order because she was under the impression that she apart of the group.
If someone goes to another persons house to ask for permission from that person’s parents “Can DeeDee join our group; not hey, we’re thinking about adding a dj to our group, and we’ve seen you spin” - then turn around, do and say another.
They ASKED her to join the group when it was a business proposition from the get-go. Had they been straight-forward, as Salt claims she is, then none of this would be going on. Deidre Roper would’ve had her business affairs in order, Sandy and Cheryl but you fed some bullshit and she peeped the bullshit but Salt wrote it off as “Spin being emotional and bringing up old shit”.
Yeah, I’d be emotional over my monies and unfair treatment too. Crazy hoe! but I guess you’re living up to the moniker of: Queens get the money. 😒
