I propagate my dahlias from stem cuttings in early summer. They root very easily and often flower the same year. The cutting forms new tubers over the summer which can then be overwintered for the mect year.
I never knew that I can grow dahlias from seeds. Thank you for this great information and inspiration! Since finding you, I don’t dig up my dahlias or any other flowers and so far haven’t lost any of them ♥️
That was seriously the best example on dahlia seed saving that I've seen. No one else shows up close like you did (and I had no idea they are wrapped in that papery casing) I've been trying to collect seeds from my dahlias for the last month and couldn't find any in my dahlias but now I know I was probably just missing them. Thanks for the tips
Great information! Thank you for the detailed video on dahlia seed-saving and drying. It's amazing, the education this old gardener has received watching videos from a select few garden gurus like yourself.
I appreciate your generosity! Thank you for sharing your favorites. I have been growing "Linda's Baby" Dalia this year. It was amazing in the beginning but covered horribly by powdery mildew late in the season. I will still try next year, though.
Zinnias are so beautiful and i don't know that monarch Butterflies and hummingbirds like them! Saved a billion seeds and excitied to plant alot to creat habbit

I will be overwintering half my tubers as an experiment. You've inspired me.
