    Good old fashioned slugfest from two top rated fighters in the golden age of heavyweight boxing when, contenders never ducked anyone. Makes a mockery of todays pampered prima donnas. Thanks Rich, keep 'em coming!!

    Evan at their advanced age they put on a good fight, really let the punches go..Chuvalo has to be the hardest man who ever entered the ring. Thanks Rich❤️

    I think the announcers were being a little unfair. The old George Foreman vs that young guy comes to mind in reference to age. Besides, fighting all twelve rounds with Mohammed Ali and losing by decision is pretty darn good. Great video.

    I think it’s sad that Williams had to continue fighting after he was considerably diminished due to being shot in the abdomen by some whacked out cop. He clearly is a good step or two slower than his prime as well, being 37,…. Chuvalo was tough and crude, and I suppose he deserved the decision, he was more active overall.

      “ whacked out cop” … aee re cyou sure of that ? Didn’t Williams refuse instructions and instead wrestle and attempt to seize the officers gun ? Could be wrong , but If so, play silly games …

    You got two fighters that were at the end of their careers. What I admire about Cleveland Williams is that after being shot in the stomach by a racist cop, and his three knock out losses (2 with Sonny Liston, and 1 with Muhammad Ali), he was still fighting.

    Chavalo never kissed the canvas.
    Beating a 20 year veteran with 56 KO's; Then, George's final 12 round bout with Ali, Chavalo loses the decision to Muhammad Ali, but still goes dancing with his wife after the fight; Muhammad Ali wins the decision and goes to the hospital for an over night stay after the bout. 🥊

    Chuvalo was one tough SOB., Never off his feet as a pro. Frazier and Foreman beat him and stopped him but, despite landing murderous punches, couldn't put him on the canvas. He acted in several movies after retiring and dementia only caught up to him as he approached his 80s Tragic life though...I think he lost a couple of sons to overdoses and suicide and one of his wives killed herself too.

    • @serenityinside1
      @serenityinside1 10 місяців тому

      Correct on all fronts. More tragedies than I’ve ever read if a fighter , yet remained cheerful and did tons of anti-drug charity work. A true one off was GC. RIP sir. 😞

    • @MrCrystalcranium
      @MrCrystalcranium 10 місяців тому +2

      @@serenityinside1 Actually, I don't think he's passed. He's 86 and as a continuation of his tragic life, what is left of his estate is being fought over by what is left of his family as he lay with severe dementia in a care facility. His wife Joanne is almost 20 years his junior and Chuvalo's surviving children are trying to divorce him from her and she remains adamant he wants to remain married. A really horrible mess.

      @@MrCrystalcraniumMr. Chuvalo, from what I have read, was abandoned by his wife once his dementia kicked in. The estranged wife, (they apparently hadn't lived together for years) had him arrested and had a restraining order against him when he tried to return to his matrimonial home. It was stated in court that George wanted a divorce, and the wife was okay with it until the kids were appointed powers of attorney. They needed to make sure he'd have funds to put him in a good home. While both sides argued, George's condition deteriorated until he was aware of nothing anymore. Follow the money. So sad.

    Chuvalo was strong and could take a big punch but he rarely caught an opponent with a big, clean punch. Mostly he relied on wearing down an opponent that was not in top shape.
