This is really refreshing to find a review which mentions pros and cons and trade offs and engineering challenges of using the 22 wmr. I wish that more reviews would try to discuss pros and cons in context. Thank you.

"Bacon Nation"? You mean like bacon biscuits? Bacon ice cream? Bacon pancakes? Bacon carrot cake?
Yeah, this S&W .22 mag pistol is unique by using the barrel as a gas piston inside its sleeve. BUT some of that gas gets back to the shooter as well. Not so good. Perhaps best to keep those gas seals lubricated with high temp light grease for a better seal.

Anyway, like I was sayin', bacon is the fruit of the land. You can barbecue it, boil it, broil it, bake it, saute it. Dey's uh, bacon-kabobs, bacon creole, bacon gumbo. Pan fried, deep fried, stir-fried. There's pineapple bacon, lemon bacon, coconut bacon, pepper bacon, bacon soup, bacon stew, bacon salad, bacon and potatoes, bacon burger, bacon sandwich...

Also..you dont need a tool to strip it lmao..u simply take the tip of a bullet to punch out out ffs..do the same on their 5.7 of which i have 6k rds thru it (own all iterations of 5.7 again the smith wins again) ..youre loading it wrong if youre getting rim lock hate to inform ..havevliterally shot every make n weight 30, 33, 40, 45, 50 gr n only brand i shy away from is cci as it tends to case rupture in the pmr30 and wmp, namely the tnt n meat eaters by cci...also to note the mp is the only one i couldnt mess up the slide cycle timing by throwing a min red on it...the wmp choked on 2 holosun and rmr, the kel has enough problem running raw , but the mp didnt care which red dot was on it . I dont shoot hundreds i shoot thousands before making my assumptions, and without a doubt the mp has taken the 22wmr title...the temp system is an great design using the barrel to also act as the gas piston...also you failed to mention the mp is stainless on barrel slide n sleeve whereas kel n wmp is simple carbon ..again huge differences in longevity is materials used as well as price tag reflection.

I tnink its a neat gun. I really wouldnt mind having one... But at 600 bucks, it just makes me giggle and walk away.
This is a fun range gun, not a defensive gun, not a target pistol... Smith missed their mark on pricing. I'd bite at 400. This gun shouldnt cost more than an MP2.0 fullsize 9mm...

I too wish it were cheaper. I suspect the price reflects some things things like that barrel in a barrel shroud pressure control technology this pistol has that I've not seen elsewhere, but that's just a guess.

Because it outclasses the junktec pmr30s n def better than the Walther wmp (have all 3) and the only one thats gas operated thar uses the barrel as the gas piston ...theres where your price tag comes from..kels cheapest at simple blowback, wmp better designed better built half the capacity ao it costs more than pmr, then you have the mp, better built than the former 2, no recoil buffer inserts to lose cuz its design eliminates the need for them, plus not only does have it have double the capacity of the wmp , but unlike the kuntec pmr30, these 30 rd mags work..nearing 3k rds thru the mp n goin strong ...
