That budget is getting close. It is amazing how much you get done while staying on budget, especially considering how much new stuff you bought. I think you'll make it, but it's the nickel and dime stuff that can get you. Good luck, we're rooting for you.
I like the crystal skulls. Indiana Jones would be proud. No rat rod is complete without at least 1 skull somewhere. Got halfway through the video, I'll watch the rest tonight. Way cool.
Getting close buddy...you have come a long way on $1741 ... love this little thing, and we both went to the same school of vehicle decoration obviously... maybe the air cleaner could be Mad Maxish, handmade like the one on his supercharger...Im hearing ya re humid...holy sheeeit... although it looks like we might be past that now...are you down around Brissy or further North?If you are down this way theres a couple of events with the Rod shop out towards Stanthorpe too... Dont forget the wheelnuts...I see theres an assortment fitted :) Cant wait for the next one

Not 100% about the wagon. This 1 is a panel van chassis think its same as style side ute chassis 1 tonner is slightly different. I just picked up a 1 tonner chassis for free yesterday, and another 1 today that has cab and tray still on for 300. Just keep searching mate the bargains come up
semi innapropriate but that air filter needs a nazi helmet or a pickelhaube. if you use a nazi helmet you could actually probably source a genuine one with patina and a bullet hole in it. most genuine ww2 relics sell for crazy money but helmets were very common and very cheaply mass produced, you can still pick em' up today for under $100, especially the ones that have damage

Ute chassis are worth a bomb down here, wagons are cheaper

I think the wagon is like the sedan and not a full chassis just a front that bolts to body

That's what I did on the other red bedford.
I used a motorbike helmet that's in that shape and put a spike on the top
