- Today we take a look at things that I "hate" about my 2010 Audi R8. This is my 2010 Audi R8 and I have loved every minute of owning this car so far, it is one of my dream cars and it's so much fun! But no car is perfect..Check out the video as I go over things that annoy me or could be improved and some minor flaws with the car. Now with everything said in this video, I do not regret buying this car, I do however regret selling it! I will be getting another one at some point because everything that I do love about the car, outweighs what I don't. It's just such a great car, easy to maintain and with the manual it's so much fun to drive! Enjoy and give a big thumbs up!!

The clickbait title “reasons to not buy an R8” is misleading. It’s all minor things, and even starting the video you’re saying you don’t hate anything. I’m trying to do some research on the car and finding real reviews are what I want.
I recently passed on buying a couple of vehicles because the dead pedal took up too much leg room just like on your car.
Really good and valid points. I am looking to buy a r8 v10. This gave me a good idea of what problems I could face on a daily basis.

Took a test drive today in the identical gray manual 2010. From inside it sounded too quiet until accelerating hard. Just revving stopped it did growl more. Yours sounds really nice driving away. Comparing all this to my Evora 400 which you also had - no comparison 🙁
The Audi R8 is such an amazing car! The stock exhaust is definitely quiet! I went with an Armytrix and it sounded so good for the car! I actually just bought another R8 after selling this one, missed it too much! I do like it over the Lotus, while that's a cool and fun car, can't compare like you said!
@@BrosFOURRSpeed I meant it doesn’t compare with the Evora, but still a great car all around.
@@jerryavis4641 You mean the Lotus is better? I’d take the r8 all day. My lotus was cool, and the 400 is even better, but I won’t buy another one.
@@BrosFOURRSpeed compared to the V8 I prefer the Evora. The V10 would be better with a manual but I wouldn’t buy any automatic. The Audi shifter is a work of art and driving pleasure.
@@jerryavis4641 They are probably similar in how quick they are too, the 400 may be slightly quicker and the V10 doesn’t get you too much more for almost double the money! I will say the Lotus is one of the best handling cars and are fun to drive!
Let me defend the foot space:
The wheels are probably in the way there.
Let me explain the AC.
Up is up.
Up+Down is up and down
Down is down and Vents is all Vents.
If you want All things running at the same time put it to the bottom right. All vents + down = everything.
I dont know how Audi could have made this even more simple.
Let me defend the 12Volt positions:
You could just buy a longer charging cable for a few bucks.
As with any vehicle. The stock exhaust is never loud enough.
The other points I didnt reply to are legitimate.
2:00 arrow up should be the windshield vent (long narrow under the glass) and the circle should be your 4 front outlets

For the love of god please don't straight pipe that car, get yourself and nice proper upgraded exhaust. It doesn't need much more sound, I think its pretty close as is. Just my humble opinion.

Exhaust is useless. An aftermarket exhaust completely transforms the car

7:15 minutes : German license plate hehehe... Eumm i think you should deff go for an aftermarket exhaust 😉 or.. I dont know if the R8 has maby a some sort of middle silencer? Otherwise yiu could remove that also first.. Tgat will be cheaper and gives it also a lot more sound.. 😉👌
We need the front plate for canada to. Trade it to some one who has the plate set up where ya want it.
I believe you can go into the settings and lower the radio volume for when it turns on automatically, ive done that in my 06 GTI and 2010 audi A3

You have obviously not read the manual for the r8. The radio on/off is in there and so are labeled diagrams outlining their location and functionality.

I currently own a TTRS and most all of your complaints are identical issues to the TTRS. I’m still in the market for a gated manual V-10 coupe....maybe the ‘plus’ version. And if you do get an exhaust curious to see and hear what you get.
I have friend with a manual v10 plus, they are definitely hard to find! I ended up going with an Armytrix exhaust! Sounds so good! My Armytrix R8 SOUNDS INSANE! *R.I.P Headphone Users*

Why is the interior so drab? Isn't a used R8 like 60k? I'd expect more even for an older one.
I don't think it is. Mine has the full leather package and carbon fiber, very nice feeling on the inside and the quality for a 10 year old car, it looks pretty brand new.

How expensive is it to maintain?
Nothing crazy at all. I did an annual oil change which is about $150. And thats it! Very reliable cars!

We have plenty of videos on both cars! I own the R8 and my brother has the GTR! Both great cars and the GTR is just like my 370z, easy to maintain and not much cost either!

@@BadKarma.- That'll probably have a good part in it for sure! You can't go wrong with either! The GTR is more practical having found seats which we have used before! But the R8 is more exotic!

You could probably do that, I didn't mind it this way, my music still worked fine and talking on the phone.

What year is your car? I have put a down payment on the 2010 R8 V10. I should get it in about two weeks. Mine has an aftermarket exhaust, it sound mean! I don't what brand it is, but I like it. My paint is Phantom Pear Black, and it is beautiful !

What you said about the dead pedal is EXACTLY why I didn't get one until now. It put pressure on my hip. The NEW R8 has the dead pedal too far to the right and I struggle to get totally comfortable in it. It puts a weird angle on my knee. I move my leg around a lot but I still think it's better then gen one.
Yea it can bother me some on long trips, but it's better than no pedal like I had in my ever lol.
Does your media screen have SD card slots behind it? (press the button on the far right and it lowers the screen to access the nav disc. My 2012 has two SD slots there.
Yes it does, I never use them though.

How’s the maintenance cost on this beast🏁🏁?
Not bad at all, the initial inspection and all I got was a good bit, but other than gas and an oil change every 10k miles (which is $150), its very easy to maintain. I'll be making a video on all that soon.

Why? It's actually a really good daily! It's comfortable and fun to drive and can fit a good bit of stuff!

It's a blast to drive for sure. Unfortunately due to winter I cant really drive it the way I'd like to at the moment. The previous owner actually swapped carbon ceramic brakes,coils,and interior from an r8 gt so it's pretty unique. I just wish it had carbon fiber engine bay parts.
