    Years ago I worked at a moneymaking newspaper while making huge profit they always did everything on the cheap. They had two rooftop HVAC units with each having two 25 ton refrigerant compressors. I told them to purchase under voltage/phase loss relays like the ones you are showing. Units sat at least 50' from building edge so they had to hire a 150' crane at $5,000 a pop to get the burnt out compressor to the parking lot and replacement unit into unit. After pissing away $20,000 they finally spent less then $600 for four of these. They should be in all three phase equipment.

      Thank you for sharing your experience with us! It's unfortunate that your previous workplace had to go through such costly and inconvenient measures before realizing the importance of under voltage/phase loss relays. It's a valuable lesson that highlights the significance of investing in proper equipment.
      Your suggestion of using these relays in all three-phase equipment is indeed a wise one. These relays serve as an essential safeguard, protecting the equipment from potential damage caused by phase failures or voltage fluctuations. By incorporating them into the system, businesses can potentially save a significant amount of money and avoid unnecessary downtime.
      Your firsthand account serves as a valuable reminder to others who may be overlooking the importance of such relays. It's crucial to prioritize the long-term well-being of the equipment and consider the potential cost-saving benefits, as opposed to opting for a short-sighted approach that may lead to expensive repairs and replacements.
      Once again, thank you for sharing your insight, and I hope that your experience can help others make informed decisions when it comes to protecting their equipment and minimizing potential losses.

    Is phase voltage the voltage between any phase and earth ? or is it the voltage between any 2 phases

    • @EEkmd
      @EEkmd  Рік тому +2

      The primary function of the phase failure relay is to monitor the voltage between the three phases in a three-phase electrical system. If there is a loss of voltage or if the voltage goes above or below a predetermined range in one of the phases, the phase failure relay will activate. This activation results in the normally closed contact opening and the magnetic contactor coil supply being disconnected, leading to the power supply to the motor being disconnected. This function helps prevent potential damage or failure. However, it is important to note that the phase failure relay does not monitor the voltage between any phase and earth (neutral).

    types of timer

    • @EEkmd
      @EEkmd  Рік тому

      Dear Muhammad Naeem
      Thank you for your comment on my video. While I don't have a video specifically on timers at the moment, but soon it will be avaiable ,I appreciate your interest and would be happy to share some information with you about different types of timers.
      Countdown Timer: This type of timer counts down from a set time to zero, indicating the remaining time until a particular event or deadline.
      Stopwatch Timer: This type of timer measures the elapsed time from the moment it is started until it is stopped, typically used to time activities such as workouts, races, or games.
      Kitchen Timer: This type of timer is used in cooking to set a specific time for a dish to cook or bake, alerting when the time is up.
      Interval Timer: This type of timer allows you to set multiple intervals with different time durations, often used for interval training or circuit workouts.
      Sleep Timer: This type of timer is commonly used in electronic devices such as televisions, music players, or air conditioners to automatically turn off after a set period of time.
      Pomodoro Timer: This type of timer is used in time management techniques such as the Pomodoro Technique, where you work for a set period of time (typically 25 minutes) and then take a short break before starting another work session.
      I hope this information helps! If you have any other questions or would like more details on any of these types of timers, feel free to ask. Thank you for your support!
