    Hey, thank you so much for all your information you have inspired me to build one myself. I’ve been looking for one trying to get something over here in Thailand and it’s just not available. I have one of them cheap little blowup ones. It’s working, but I don’t think in a long run. It’s my long term Answer so I decided to build one to my exact specifications out of insulated block that’s how they build houses over here and I’m gonna double up the insulated block and I’m gonna make it exact size that I need and then I’ll cut the whole inside with a waterproof paint or something like that And I will put in some drain and an inlet for the cooler. I’m so excited I looked and looked and looked. I’ve spent a month looking at all your videos I spent in that month. I looked at all the options they had here in Thailand and there were no options so just dawned on me yesterday, I can probably build one for 40 bucks to my specification that I need and for another six or $700 I can buy a water chiller and all the fittings to put it all together so thank you for your inspiration and keep doing what you’re doing, buddy I also have the same problem as you do. It’s 90° over here all the time so I’m hoping this chiller, it’s it’s a horsepower. It will get it down to eight or nine Celsius, which is 5048 somewhere in there that’s plenty cold enough for me. Looking forward to the next one kind of interesting. I found my chiller and filtration system at an aquarium store, there is a little hint for someone else, thanks again. Good luck.😎🙏

    Normally I like mid-40s for cold plunging, and anything over 50 isn't worth it to me, but i found that mental state plays a big role on what I want for temperature. Occasionally, I'll have days that I'm just feeling great and ready to take on the world and I actually crave the super cold temperatures. There were a few days this past "spring" (we have snow pretty late into the spring in Alaska) where I added enough snow to my tank to make the top 8-10" a slushy because it got cold enough that it wasn't melting any more. I feel amazing after those really cold plunges, but I'm just not there mentally to do that every day.

    • @redrosecounty
      @redrosecounty 6 місяців тому +1

      Agreed, we are big fans of voluntary hardship and have been doing this for about 7 months now. For us we aim for between 3 and 4 degrees C (so 37 to 39f), before we got a chiller and spring turned to summer we were dumping mountains of ice cubes and ice blocks in each morning, often we struggled to get the temp down below 8 degrees (47f) and frankly it seemed more like a relaxing soak than something more beneficial. Naturally we started because we wanted the cold adaptation and the health benefits. Cold adaptation is a fact, we've seen it with our hands, initially it was difficult to keep them in at sub 40 for more than 15 seconds or so. Now they go straight in and stay in for the full 5 minutes. A lot of the health benefits are unproven or anecdotal of course but the cold adaptation seems to work. The dopamine hit as well is there for sure when it's below 40 and we feel great. We've also found a psychological benefit from plunging at these lower temperatures. It takes mental discipline to get up early, shower and then hop in the the ice cold water every single day for 5 minutes and then stand outside in your shorts to acclimatize. It's really helped us with workouts and life in general. Now we also crave the ice cold temperatures, hands and feet stinging from the cold makes you feel alive. A few minutes after plunging that subsides and you're ready to go warm up and start your workout. Also it's going to freeze over in winter here in the UK (nothing like you in Alaska I'm sure!) so only making it harder for ourselves if we didn't get used to the freezing cold water first.

    Does this thing have a filter that has to be replaced? Also does this do ok at night outdoors in the cold if I were to run it when going to bed and it being left outside all night? And would you say if I’m winterizing my ice pod (putting my chiller away due to it being too cold in the winter and therefore not having water circulating or being filtered), that using this ozone machine plus the UV light, and hydrogen peroxide/epsom salt would be all I need? I’m wondering about keeping the circulation going more regularly with a separate pump so this ozone machine wouldn’t wear out as fast, but that’s extra money and more things to plug in and figure out. I’m seeing so much info and complicated set ups that I am getting overwhelmed. Help please!

      Don’t overthink it. I use a minimal filter and just use ozone and HP weekly. The best thing to do it rinse off before getting in and get a pool skimmer to skim anything out. Enjoy!

    I use your DIY setup, but in a "coldture" insulated tub since I have the setup inside in my basement and wanted 0 condensation. Works amazing, thanks for the tips. I found after a month, the water was still crystal clear, just by using a tiny pinch of granular Chlorine each week. I still change the water after a month just for piece of mind, but it seems like the freezer setups people use, have these ozonators and some leave their water for many months. Do you plan to change your water our less often with that now? Curious if it would be beneficial to add to my setup just for when I'm leaving the house for a while since it's inside.

      Awesome! Now that I have this ozone machine I don’t really need to change the water. I’ve had the water in my polar monkey since the day I filled it up and it’s still clean and clear from using ozone and hydrogen peroxide. I recommend it for sure!

    Something like this ozone generator seems like the kind of great low fuss option that works for me. Only thing I'm confused about, im trying to find a generator and none of them specify they can be used in water/don't have the tubing attached - any thoughts?

    Hey David, thanks for the great videos! I got the generator you recommended. Would you recommend using it daily? Also, I've seen a bit of conversation about the potential benefits of plunging in an actively saturated Ozone water (20 minutes before getting in) + while it's on -- do you have any information on the risks/benefits? The logic was around it being an anti-oxidant treatment for your skin.
    Also, do you use the Ozone + the IceBarrel Water stabilizer, if so in what way?

      Definitely don’t use the plunge inside of 30 minutes after using ozone. I use mine about once every 2 weeks and now I use the stabilizer in all my plunges, even with the ozone and it works great! Glad to

    New to the channel but appreciate the content. I’ve only recently started cold plunging and only have a Nurecover portable ice bath.
    At the minute I empty the water once a week and go in it x5 a week . I actually own a box and go in it straight after my workout (I know there are mixed studies to stop muscle growth) but I don’t care about that , I feel great and recovery is the best it’s been.
    Until I can afford a filter/chiller system , is this worth getting ? I have no pump or anything atm but just thought I’d ask , I’m reading so many different things .
    Was going to purchase this and the hydrogen peroxide, would that be enough?

    Hey, thanks for the video. Looks awesome. I'm a little confused on the large gap between your 28,000 mg/h Ozone and Plunges/DIYColdPlunge's 50 mg/h Ambohr Spa-124 ozone generator, especially since there is rumor is can damage your chiller. Do you have any insight as to ozone amounts/frequency? Thanks again.

    I have used the same ozone generator for my ice bath, it is located in my garage so when I treat the water (once a week) I leave a fan on blowing on the water and the garage door open. Have you ever had a sore throat from accidental inhalation? I got a slight sore throat the last time I used it.
