The fact that he says he is looking at the "player" whilst looking at a wall that is in the opposite of the player means maybe there is another player? It would make sense, as who are controlling the other team members? It would make sense, until you realize that secret endings are not an ending expected by Gaster as shown in the chapter 6 secret fight. So maybe the secret bosses are being CONTROLLED by the other player?! But then how are there 7 secret bosses? Maybe the new player is on a one life run? But how would he be playing millions of games? Which means they HAD to be either a piece of AI or ANOTHER HUMAN TRAPPED IN THE CODE. COPIED AND DISTRIBUTED OUT TO THE PUBLIC. Which would make the fact that the secret bosses are insane! And going ALL THE WAY back to chapter two, knowledge from Spamton was taken away, maybe... this knowledge is IT'S ORIGINAL STORY?! Now it all makes sense, their goal in this world, it truly is all a game... But how does Undertale fit into this... well my quick theory is that someone made a copy of Undertale in an alternate universe, so after Toby Fox shut down the fan game (as he was still stingy about it back then before feeling bad and allowing others) Toby ran Undertale through an AI game generator with a few small changes to make it a WHOLE NEW WORLD TO TRAVERSE. But if this was an original game, how did this original player get trapped in? Or perhaps, first? No... SECOND HUMAN. The second human was one of Toby's enemies, tortured in the game as shown in the game files, so that enemy of Toby haunted the original game, and when THAT got copied over to Deltarune, his memories became distorted, and sees US as Toby (as Toby's Emmy doesn't know about Toby's piece of his would in the games, Annuoing dog). Which should explain WHY PETALY WAS STARING AT SOMEONE ELSE. This Player enemy doesn't have full control over the game file, so when the enemy created the ai for Petaly and the other secret bosses, he lost almost all control, but knew that they were still there, always watching, and always wanting back control... "Falling petals" could have a meaning. From what i get Petaly was a child actor who got kicked out eventually due to growing older and became a nobody. As people age their hair falls down, Petalys hair ressembles the petals of a flower so the name of the song could be making reference to how petaly got more and more desesperate as time passed on and got older.
