I drank a little too much Round Barn Winery's Cherry 🍒 last night and was in the need of a palette cleanser this morning. You've provided that in spades! I found your rating completely spot on, perfection! 🥰 Love the new rating system and it's increased resolution. I can't help but wonder, however, if it quite reaches the level of granularity and nuance required to detect real meaningful differences. 🤔 Lastly, did you have a chance to sample the 1:05 - 1:23 portion of the Interstellar OST? I hear that's a staple test track for midrange dexterity (I might have the timestamp incorrect).
Did you break in the cable for another 500 hours? How did you do in the critical phase between 150 and 200 hours? I replaced mine with an orange lawnmower cable from Black and Decker, which improved the sound substantially.
Yes, broke in another cable. Between 150 and 200 hours my notes state a slight dip in overall neutrality and a slight emphasis in the 700-750 Hz range. I have to question that Black and Decker cable, as I’ve never used a cable under $1,000 that is truly revealing.
Now joke aside: this is based on a true story where a high-end speaker manufacturer had forgotten their cables for the tradeshow display. The rep went to a hardware store and purchased a $50 Black and Decker lawnmower cable...and did not disclose it. It sounded great and people loved the orange colour. The other half is about Kimber loudspeaker cables. The company reported customers' "difficult experience" between break-in hours 150-200. It needed 500 hrs of break-in according to the manufacturer. You can't make this shit up! If you did some serious promoting of such hokus pokus, the number of your subscribers would go up one to two magnitudes.
I wish I saw this review before I bought three pairs of AKG K812 for my evening fire! Now I have to buy another pair to listen to it, I hope I can find them at the highest possible price.
Nice review. I would personally disagree that you can't find "audiophile quality" headphones for less than $1500 though. I feel like there are options in the
Taking away the parody the headphones are absolutely amazing and if you have the money to spare go and buy them. They are truly incredible and will blow you away
Sorry to disagree but we did not thumb down the AKG. The new scoring system should have made that unequivocally clear. Where specifically are you confused with the scoring system? Maybe we could improve it.
This is one of the dumbest reviews I've ever watched. Nothing under a $1000 is worth anything?? What does that even mean? That it's not worth your time I guess. There are plenty of headphones under $1000 that are great quality and great sounding and are worth listening too much more than some in the $1000 plus price range. What a joke.
Another audiofool lier. this headphones are trash with 2% of THD+N at most sensetive 2-3khz. All what u can get after 200-600hours of "burning" its compressed pads and ears adaptation. its all about psycoacoustics! That HP is BAD!
"So I called up AKG and said, "hey, send us a model for our review," and they said no." 😂
i cried
Lmao I wonder why they said no
Why the fuck would you need AKGs when the sheer clarity of the Etymotic ER2SE beats all the other shitty earbuds and headshits on the market?
Please keep doing these videos. Very entertaining and most importantly, informative and nonsatirical.
These ones only sound good after 9000 hours of burn-in on italian tube amps from the 60s man. I mean come on everyone knows that by now

Brilliant. Absolutely brilliant
How did you keep a straight face when you filmed this ???? LMAO....looking for more of a champagne sound, what do you suggest ???

@@scientificaudiophile Sadly, Black and Decker only offer budget cables for their lawnmowers (that's what I used), but it had to be orange for me.

Discounts simply reduce sound quality. Audiophile fact!
Pretty hilarious troll dude, well played

Consider to test more headphones.
Sangrantino. Wow. I did not see that coming. I guess it makes sense, but still, wow.
Of course they're cheap headphones, so . . .

Except is you listen to an electronic music. It sounds really ridiculously flat and harsh here.
Is it not Diane Bish ?
It is. Spell ✔️ changed it and I didn't notice.
@@scientificaudiophile I prefer Karl Richter thou ;)
Good stuff. 😂😂
U12 smokes this headphone
This is hilarious
I understand your position. But, many like myself can't buy headphones that expensive. I settled for the AKG K-92 and I like what they do.
💀💀💀
this is hilarious lmao
😩😩😩
I'm dying XDDDD
Well, my friend, let me give you a lesson in gravity. Your first thumbs down! By the looks of it, not the last one either! Not by a long shot.
