      @N-Collective 13 днів тому +6

      W13 was also admittedly by the engineers, a good concept, but they just never gave it a chance and bailed on it. There was never a point during the zero pod concept where Mercedes had true correlation with the factory and on track data. James Allison himself said that if they would’ve just stuck with it, they could’ve made it work, but they kept trying to change things too much.

    • @sebulbathx

      @@N-Collective I think with no budget cap they definitely would have made the zero pod concept work. And that would have been interesting to see if it could live up to its potential. I feel that was the word for the you always or at least often heard was "potential" about the W13.

      Two MAJOR differences here. W13 was start of new regulation, where this Ferrari is the end of the regulation cycle. Also, Ferrari has been on strong foot in the penultimate year of the regulation while W13 didn't have such reference.

      @chief1325 12 днів тому +1

      W13 was excellent and the best car Mercedes had in the ground-effect hybrid era. I met Toto Wolff in person and he told us that Mercedes just took the wrong development pathway to correct the car's shortcomings. Had they tried to reduce drag, rather than increase downforce, it would have worked. They've never had a more consistent car since

    Great footage, great content. The manufacturers really have no real idea how the car will perform until it does a lap. They can be close, on paper and on the computer screen, but until the rubber hits the road they are all making guestimates. Apart from Newey, who owns a crystal ball and always gets it right.

    Ferrari are going to be using the CI brakes as a demand from Hamilton although Brembo deny a definitive split at this stage. That front end is so crucial to Hamilton’s success at Ferrari it could potentially make or break his season. His late breaking, balancing rotation mid corner style depends on a geometry with some give he can lean on to carry speed. It will be the defining characteristic that could make him a force to be reckoned with in 2025. I can’t wait.

I believe in creation bt for this one, #evolution is the way to go

    • @adityaroa-n6r
      @adityaroa-n6r 12 днів тому

      hamilton liked a strong front end in his mclaren days. he likes a stronger rear end now.The era of mercedes cars from 2014-2021 didn't like a stronger front end due to their low rake floor design so hamilton adapted to that. redbull had a high rake floor so the front end is much stronger which max loves. the problem with the current mercedes is that its has a weak front and a weak rear which becomes unpredictable. this gives no confidence for the driver to throw the car around.

    What I find somewhat boring about F1 at the moment is the constant talk about aerodynamics. I feel aerodynamics is a much much hotter topic with present cars than it was with previous car concept. Sure F1 has and will always be about aerodynamics but the talk about it hasn't been near as much in the past as it is today, imo.

    • @adityaroa-n6r
      @adityaroa-n6r 12 днів тому +1

      lewis used to like a strong front end in his mclaren days. he prefers a stronger rear end now because the era of mercedes cars from 2014-2021 had a low rake design meaning the downforce on the rear of the car is stronger so lewis is used to driving with a strong rear for a long time. the low rake cars help with generating more downforce and helps with tire management which lewis loves do in the races. take all this information and the opposite of it will be max's driving style with his high rake cars which redbull makes. obviously max with experience has been able to do tire management much better but he eats up his tires faster than someone like lewis. the problem with the current mercedes is that its has a weak front and a weak rear which becomes unpredictable. this gives no confidence for the driver to throw the car around.

    I think Lewis can win his eighth world championship with Ferrari. And I don't think Leclerc will be the number one driver. This was determined from the moment Hamilton signed with Ferrari. This is different from Raikkonen. Raikkonen was forced to be the number two driver at the time, although Ferrari did pay Raikkonen a lot of money. But the management of the Ferrari team from 2017 to 2020 was very bad. At the same time, I also found that when Sainz and Leclerc were at Ferrari, Ferrari did not clearly divide the number one or number two drivers. The strategy of the two drivers was the same. The performance of the car was the same. Ferrari's real goal was to win the championship. The team's internal fighting has not appeared for a long time. And in the period from 2022 to 2024, Ferrari made fewer mistakes. They still made mistakes, but they had a clear goal. The low-level mistakes were actually almost no longer. These are all good signs. I think those who think Hamilton will be the number two driver have deep hostility. I don't think the old drivers are worse. Alonso, 43, has not been attacked in the paddock. This still shows that the problem of racial discrimination is very serious. Is a 40-year-old driver worse than someone ten years younger? I really don't think so. At present, the paddock is still dominated by rookies. As long as the FIA does not mess around, the elderly drivers still have a high chance of winning the championship.

    Oh please, please, PLEASE let this car somehow be a stinker and let Merc find some magic and be back at the front, sure it would suck for Ferrari, Charles and I'd also feel kinda bad for Lewis but just imagining the meltdown that the TeamLH fangirls and fanboys (so not the normal rational Lewis fans!) would have is just so freaking fun to see and those twats have been so incredibly annoying over the last couple of years that I'll happily see one of my favorite teams and drivers burn down just to spite them.
    The cherry on top would be if Williams also finds some miracle pace and Sainz overtakes Lewis at some point. XD
