    That beat is fire. The bass line took it there.

    Liked, subd, and thank you for showing me a solution that I’m adding to my workflow. I too own a BlackBox, I like the way you used it. I also like the way you started with the sample, added rhythm, then bass. I’m watching this at 3 a.m. and grabbed my XT to start sessioning. Thanks for that ;)

      Heck yeah! Glad this gave you some ideas. I plan on doing some videos about the BlackBox too, it's such an awesome sampler - stay tuned!

    You are using 5 tracks to drums. How about a workflow where you record all the drums into single sample like a drum kit, and then use chops of it in one track for drums -- that way you would have more free tracks? But I guess it is difficult to record different drum sounds into single sample that way.
    Also I was hoping more in-depth example about drum layering or any layering. What I mean by that is like having a sub-bass for kick, etc. One sound that consists of multiple sounds -- layering.
    Nice content mate, keep it going :)

      Thanks for watching! Yeah this method I used is not very efficient with the tracks haha. But having each drum on its own track makes it easier to control levels and effects per drum sound. Like adding reverb to just the snare, compressor and low pass filter to just the kick, delay on the hi hats, etc. Like you said though, having a sliced break or kit on a single track is totally possible and would free up a lot of space. Plus it would make it easier to layer sounds - I'm going to test some uses of that and see if there's enough for a video!

      @@Jay_Maculate Totally, I love playing a full Drumkit in pad mode, for mixing and song management you can split it heaps of ways and there's so many reasons/use cases why! Sounds and works great, loved it!! Will follow on all the socials and Spotify.

    Can you play the kick and snare on same track? Basically how do you play different sounds on same track?

    • @Jay_Maculate
      @Jay_Maculate  16 днів тому +2

      @@HellcatTheSavage You can! To do that you have to set up a parameter lock for the step that you want to play the different sample. Go to the SND page screen where you can see the waveform, then hold the numbered step button down (such as 5 for the snare) and while holding it down, turn the A knob to select the other sample. When you let go, the numbered step button should glow yellow. Now when you add a note there, it will play the other sample

      @@Jay_Maculate Awe great, i understand the para locks on the 4trk lofi 12, figured you could do it on XT. Thank you!

      @@Jay_Maculatethanks for answering questions. Been on the fence between this or an MPC One +. I have a Korg electribe but it blows at sampling.

    • @Jay_Maculate
      @Jay_Maculate  14 днів тому +1

      @CaptainKazi for sure! Yeah that's a tough call. The lofi12xt is fun because its workflow has a certain process that sort of limits you (in a good way). The modern mpc series seem way more open, so you have access to lots of different fx, sounds, sequencing techniques, etc. So it might be hard to get started on such an open platform since you have all that control. It all depends on what you jive with!

      @@Jay_Maculate Sorry quick question again. I got the para to work, but is there a way to have two sounds play at the same time. Say like hat over the snare. As of now it just cuts off the hat and plays just the snare, basically two or more voices at the same time? thx!
