    this guy is just like my physics teacher, except unlike him, this guy actually teaches the class and doesn't expect us to figure it out by ourselves

    I translated the words "Accuracy" and "Precision" but there were the exactly same means. I always wondered this concept and finally I got it. Thanks for this and sorry for my terrible English skill. I'll study harder.

      Your English skills are far greater than my Korean skills. I am impressed that you are learning physics in English!

      Flipping Physics Thank you Mr. P. By the way, I worte this comment on the next video...😂 My study plan is, 1st. Watch the video, 2nd. translate words that I can't understand. 3rd. Writing a comment. So I thought I already watched this video and I notice now😫 Anyway, about this video, you catched my problem again! Theta! It's obvious, but I forget it easily. I'll be careful and thank you!

      That is a great study plan. Are you aware all of my videos are closed captioned in English? It would probably help you to see the English words while you hear them in the video. Please, let me know if you are doing that and if it helps.

      Flipping Physics Yes I am. It helps me a lot when I interpret the unfamiliar word.😁 My ultimate goal is to watch these videos without subtitles. I hope someday I can watch your videos at once as if I were watching a Korean drama.

    What kinda accent is this man doing when he says that I can't even focus on the work I just keep laughing

    Mister P, you hair style makes me think of Richard P Feynman. He was also a great physicist and a great teacher!

    What do you mean by using the lecture notes responsibly?

    Excuse me sir, our videos are an excellent help but I have a question: at 11:50 you write a -1 over the tan. What does that mean and why did you write that? Is it always there when doing toa at a theta 2? Thank you very much and Happy Thanksgiving.

    is there a rule of thumb how many decimals to keep in intermediate calculations.
    i noticed that he uses 4 decimals

      +Ok Ok Nope. I tend to show 6 significant digits when doing calculations on the board, however, I usually use the "answer" button on the calculator to keep more than 6 significant digits.

    "Wrong angle" 😂😂

    why do we take the inverse of tangent?
    because in our school they ask us to find the tangent of theta and after finding the value we look at the table of angles where the sine, cos, and tan of all the angles are given and then we write the value of the theta.

      Interesting. Does your table have sine, cosine, and tangent values for angles you would get in the real world like 32.27 degrees?

      This lecture is geared toward students who have calculators, rather than hard copies of lookup tables of the trig functions. The lookup tables for exp/log/trig were the way the calculation would be done, up until about 50 years ago in the US when the scientific calculator was invented. That, and slide rules. Linear interpolation, or polynomial interpolation in general, would be how you would approximate the values in between entries.

    I'm still confused about SOH CAH TOA after doing trig and the other classes. :( (I'm homeschooled online via Acellus but it doesn't really teach me much)

    i now get it , the opposite of theta 2 is X and that of theta 1 is y, its why the tangent is inversed

  • @popsterg1638
    @popsterg1638 4 роки тому

    wait why do we take the inverse tangent

    • @carultch
      @carultch 2 роки тому

      If you know what you want the output of the tangent function to be, and want the angle that produces that tangent value, you take the inverse tangent to calculate the input of the function, given the output. Also known as arctangent.
