why did onshape decide to not allow any solid part tools to work with sheet metal until you make it "finished" ? such as fillets; patterns, extrude.. etc.. many of the best multi-part studio features are off-limits for sheet metal. i havent drawn a sheet metal part yet that hasn't had at least 1 fillet as part of the flat pattern. finsihing a sheet metal part means additional features will not show up in the flat pattern. OR am i doing it wrong?
I've seen this asked before, lots of features work like extrude and pattern. I know fillet doesn't yet but I know they have every intention of adding it they just didn't want to delay releasing sheet metal till it was ready.
Sorry, looks like they got cut from this version. This content is old anyway so a lot of that would be out of date...look out for more content coming soon.
A flange on a circular hold is usually done with a forming tool. Those are currently a limitation, but see how these guys make similar features: forum.onshape.com/discussion/9353/formed-sheet-metal-tools forum.onshape.com/discussion/5900/forming-tools-for-sheet-metal

Hey John, I would imagine you found the answer to this by now, but let us know if you have other follow ups.
@@OnshapeInc yes, to follow-up, most of the solid moding solutions are also available for sheetmetal use. It has come a long way since this video
@@johnmcclary754 No doubt! Thanks for the follow up. Make sure to subscribe, we have more content coming to UA-cam again after a long hiatus.
Where are the questions and answers at the end? The video cuts off before.
