- The ConCourt has found that former President Jacob Zuma is not eligible to stand as a member of parliament. This comes after the MK Party leader's 15-month sentence for contempt of court. Governance expert Dr Sam Koma weighs in.

We are not against Mr Zuma; This is a consequence of the bad decisions of disrespecting the constitutional court and is a lesson for all of us. And for Judge Theron to deliver that judgement has settled the perceptions of her displeasure on Zuma conviction. The standing of the concourt as the Apex court has been restored.

Concourt is wrong again. It is selective in the reading of the law. The concourt deliberately ignored in the section 'a conviction and sentence that has been appealed..' dodging to account for Appeal in thr section 47:1e.
Concourt failed to account for Conviction and Sentencing of any one person with Trial,without a right to appeal. Failed to accept it was wrong in any event where A concourt's outcome leading to incarceration it cannot be a Court of first and last instance because Rights contained in section 35 would be grossly denied...
Concourt is wrong,as it failed to apply Justice Cameron on the distinction between Civil and Criminal contempt.
The concourt failed to appreciate the Jurisdiction of sectuon 47, between the Electoral Commission and the National Assembly. That at no given time prior to the first seating of the National Assembly can section 47 be implemented and applied. Section 47 falls outside the jurisdiction of the Electoral Commission.
What is so difficult with this simple understanding of the Constitution? Zuma does not have any record of SAP16 as it is the case with othet convictions.
And on what ground does the concourt establish and declare that Remmission does not alter the original sentence imposed? What does??? Idioticall they wud say its a Pardon.
