Only people who have fallen into desperation go to a pay day lender. I was there when I was in my early 20’s. I was for a few months signing my entire paycheck over to them. And without a paycheck I had to borrow more money from them. It’s a horrible cycle. Learned my lesson big time.

I am all for Dave Ramsey's personalities scaring people by only discussing APR when talking about Payday Lenders. 690% divided by 52 weeks is 13.3% for a loan that lasts a week. 690% divided by 365 days is 1.89% for a loan that lasts a day. HOWEVER, lenders don't think about how long they would pay back the loan so everyday, every week, every month the loan's interests will get to that 690% for the year.
