Andrioo : I was just like you - assigned reading was the surest way to get me disinterested. But lemme tell you this: if you go back and read it in your own time, it will be worth it! I did that for 1984 and was thoroughly impressed and grateful that I did read it on my own. They are classis for a _reason_ . Enjoy! BP : I also get certain words mixed-up. I think many of us do - like a short-circuit in the brain. My dad always mixed-up mirror and umbrella. My wife had window and door (which made for some laughs!) and me it's bread and wood. I don't think there's any logic behind it - but I think it's just a human thing. Animal Flow, worth noting, starts "you're in the mind..." and he walks through the building with the cane on his shoulder. As soon as he steps outside though, he has to lean on that cane. Like in his mind he isn't sick, but otherwise he is.
Yeah, school tends to suck the life out of the classics. Years after high school, I decided to go on a classics binge, including The Brothers Karamazov, Les Miserables, Brave New World, Tess of the D'urbervilles, etc., and I couldn't get enough of it. Recently Ren said he was reading Breakfast of Champions (Kurt Vonnegut), so he continues to feed his brain. (Excellent call about Ren's cane, by the way! I didn't pick up on that.)

@@SuzanneO707 Thank you! I live in Albuquerque, where libraries still exist, lol. I still spend a lot of time there, perusing the aisles for novels. There's something more satisfying and "organic" about reading hard copy books than staring at the cold glow of a computer screen.

Its a joy to watch their faces light up and see them working things out, even just turning pages (sometimes for the first time). I enjoy it when adults come to book groups and share their thoughts too. It can get a bit heated, sometimes. Lol. Reading literature, in whatever format, is great. Nothing quite like, the tactile, personal, immersive experience of being absorbed in a book. It certainly makes the commute more bearable and enhances life, in general. Its so cool that Ren is recommending books to discover, in such accessible way. A campaign over here to save libraries,had the backing of, amongst others, David Bowie & John Lydon. There you go! As for location, I read that when he steps outside at the end of the vid you can see the location that he and Sam were busking at in the background. It's awesome that Ren's whole universe is in this one little neighborhood. Yes, Violets tale was in the basement of this building and used the back stairs into the alley and ended up at the Meeting House Ln area. Also I think Hi Ren and Sick Boi too in the basement. ..not for certain on those two.

This is the building where Violets tale was filmed.but Ren exits through a rear door where Violet was beaten . Ren's friend Benny , lived in the apartment that was transformed. As with most of Rens videos permission was not asked for to use the building as a video shoot >
