Yoruko Chikokoro Yeah, it's definately one of the better books since it gives you max fire rate for a room with a 2 room recharge.

It's just an 8-bit version of the current stuff. Rebirth's soundtrack is being done in the same style, I believe.

In the community remix you can now become Tammy, and Loki. To become Tammy you need to get "Tammy's Tail," "Tammy's Paw," and "Tammy's head". These are extremely hard to get because they only appear in golden chests. Becoming Loki is much easier, in fact all you need is "The Mark,"and "Loki's Horns."
Or Tammy's tail stacks just like guppy's tail.

Nether Zero sure, but you have to have it extra strong and by "extra strong" i mean you can have the coffee beans on its own.

Ugh... I'm not usually one to complain when you don't notice stuff, but I was going nuts when you couldn't see that Book of Despair was increasing your tears upon use. It practically maxed out your fire rate and you kept not seeing it.

Good god, blood oath plus moms knife, plus guppys paw is op. Blood oath increases damage the lower the health you have. So yes northernlion at 37:55 you are correct.
Is blood oath affected by the amount of red hearts you have, or total hearts?

Just a thing to point out, but doing only a week of this won't be doing it justice as the creator of the mod is going to attempt to update it weekly with new items, fixes, tweaks, and new music as he goes along. Right now it's kind of a Work in Progress, and as such only a week of it will only show people a small part of what's actually in the remix mod.

Sometimes it feels like NL just doesn't remember there is a stats menu haha.
Though I can't blame him for not noticing what the "It hurts" did, It only made his mom's contact red tear into a blood tear which is barely notice-able.
I look forward to this new short series. Be nice to see what the community came up with.

Brain Freeze, Isaac shoots ice cubes that melt the farther they go and do less damage as they melt.
NL i think it wouldnt do you any harm to just convert your regular isaac series to this, it keeps all the old school stuff and adds some new stuff, i dont think it would mess anything up and it would add an interesting twist to a series thats been going on forever

Even though it's amusing, the glitched Peeper's Eye makes it hard to enjoy the run when all I can think is "wish they would fix that."

EmperorZ19 No, but the newest video (second showcase of the Community remix) by Vicarious Viking shows that when he had 9+ Spirit Hearts (it was offscreen, so i can't be sure of it) it added 0.09 damage to Isaac's base damage. Also, it counts your heart amount, not how many heart containers you have.
EDIT: It seems that it was because after collecting the Blood Oath with 3 containers, and he lost offscreen spirit hearts, the damage number didn't decrease. So the conclusion is, no, it doesn't.

So. Dare I ask; what makes shot speed bad?
The knockback that comes along with it, and can make some already annoying enemies a pain to deal with as the knockback has a habit of knocking them away from bombs, and towards you. One super annoying boss with knockback is death, once he splits, 'cause the pony loves to go in a straight line, but knockback has a nasty tendency to nudge it into a path you're in

mainly it's the terrible knockback. it causes unpredictable enemy movement trajectories; This will cause you to lose runs.
Secondly itihas bad synergy with lump of coal.
***** "All as good" Isaac is not really about skill, is more about luck, I've seen the racing league and it's nothing out of this world. Still, the reason why it "messes them up" is dumb in my opinion.

I love how as soon as you mentioned it, Cat 'O Nine Tails shows up like "I heard you talkin' shit, NL.".
Also, did anyone else notice Peeper's Eye was acting weird? Like NL would come in the room, and Peeper's Eye would be like "Later." and fly off screen for some odd reason...
Why is shot speed up something to be mitigated, or something that complicates the run? It's been over a year since I even played this game, but I'm pretty sure it's an upgrade.
A lot of people don't like it because it causes weird knock-back effects on enemies, and those that chase you, like the eyeless/eyeful ooze guys and Lust and War, get hit and fly at you faster due to weird physics.
It makes lump of coal worse and it just makes your shots travel faster thus increasing knockback which is bad as it can cause certain enemies to get knocked into you or out of the path of your tears.
It makes one unlikely item slightly worse and a few out of a hundred enemies a bit more difficult. In other words, Bisnap decided out of personal choice to not pick them up and every mindless idiot since then has parroted the same exact "reasoning" why they are "bad"... In reality the knockback helps against more enemies than it complicates and you will likely not lose the game because your lump of coal shots are faster, if you even get it in the first place.
This is why Ryan actually is a smart man, he will reroll shot-speed only upgrades like toothpicks and cat-o-nine-tails because they aren't good enough, while not caring so much about the package deals like stem cells. And I love his commentary when he does it, "I know some people think shot speed upgrades are bad, but I want the health upgrade regardless."

It's actually worse against MOST enemies, just not to the same extent. The knockback can be annoying against virtually EVER ENEMY IN THE GAME. Some people like it because they can aim better with it, but for the most part it's objectively bad (not THAT bad though, of course you should still pick up stem cells and stuff like that)

What about enemies that don't move? Like the ones in the womb that pop out of the ground?
And also, I like knockback, you just need to get used to it.
But as an example, if you hit a shooting enemy at the right moment, the tears it shoots will be slowed down, has helped me in some occasions.
I really think that shotspeed is not as bad as everybody thinks, to me it's rather some stat that is neither good, nor bad.
Only thing I really dislike about it, is that it makes homing shots worse and I like homing shots.

It's hillarious how blind NL is to quite obvious effect of the Book, while being so close to the effects of D12 (boss rerolls) and Blood Oath (increseased damage on low health).

I hope you will continue this series as well as the vanilla Binding of Issac or replace that one with this! I just love the new items possibilities and this is almost like a fan made Rebirth!

Isaac Community Remix is a cool game and I'm excited to play it
I like the new Blue Bean. The active recharge makes it an awesome item for some really cool challenge runs.

I looked up all the new items because my computer can't even play Isaac (and therefore community remix) right now, and I'm amazed that Northernlion actually guessed the effect right for the D12 on his first try, it does re-roll bosses, he just used it in the wrong way because it wasn't the "proper" boss fight of that floor. Either way, it was hilarious.
The list of been incomplete though, because I don't remember seeing the counterfeit dollar on there (although I know what it does now thanks to the comments of this video).
