Ok everyone. All of you have been noting what Northernlion missed, like the tinted rock, the blessings, and certain effects. I have a sad truth for you all to understand, that NL doesn't care to learn this game. He says he doesn't want to learn about the items to keep the mystery, but he refuses to learn about the game's mechanics. He doesn't bother learning certain parts of the game, like the devil room chances, because he doesn't care. He is willing to forget some of what he knows about the Binding of Isaac, like the bomb trick. It is just useless to try and point out these things, as he believes that the comments will lie to him, making each comment, including this one, irrelevant. At this point, he cares more about XCom than Isaac for the simple reason that he will take advice and play that game rather than gain a bit of understanding of special items. My main point is that what you are trying to point out to him is meaningless, as he just does not care what any of say about this game, for he doesn't want to understand the Binding of Isaac. So, everyone, quit leaving comments about what he lacked to notice, because you are wasting your time.

In our class the girls got to do archery a lot, and the boys never got to. At the time a lot of us were really jealous of that.
In hindsight it was probably wise, since giving teenage boys the means to kill one another when all the hormones are flowing probably would lead to bad things. :D
There is no segregation at my high school... but if you got a certain one of the three gym teachers, you would have to do written work and homework a lot...
At my high school, we just run and play soccer or basketball every time. Occasionally, the girls get to do dancing. Well, the guys get to as well, but we don't want to.
I honestly think thats a nonsense argument though. Here in holland (several of the EU countries im sure) the classes are mixed, boys and girls. And i've seen or heard nothing in the sense that would support that argument... but hey it might happen on occasion.... but i think the comparison to like the video games violence argument is relevant... sure it happends but generally its not the most important cause.

I guess the eternal heart came from that "Blessing of Piety" floor effect.
Soubt they would fix the scapular like that.
Aww, he didn't go to the angel room after the mom's heart fight, I wanted to see if community remixed changed those any to maybe give an item instead of a trapdoor, it likely doesn't but it would have been interesting to at least check.

Yeah, I noticed that too when I played the mod for the first time today. It IS Ryab, indeed. He used that face for some time in his BoI videos.

Are gender-separated gym classes really a thing in North America? That's crazy! We just have them separated by what year you're in.
Well I don't happen to live in the land of the Canadians, but like NL said about the hormones and shiz of the sort.. I'm guessing it only comes in at a certain year where that would affect anything.
Um, I'm in my 6th year. Everyone's 17-18. Still have co-ed gym class and no problems with "hormones" or whatever. Kind of weird that they think that's necessary.
Then people in your class are there to learn rather than fuck around and talk to eachother. That's a good thing.

It's something determined locally that'll vary by school district. Was never seperated in my suburb of Vancouver, but I know people from Vancouver proper who were.

Ya. I actually liked the change of pace. After over a thousand hours aging myself and watching NL, it's nice to hear something a little different
I hate on it because it sucks. It doesn't suit the game at all and most of the remixes use loud obnoxious sounds. See the very first track in this video - uses a high, annoying sound for the melody, and only plays from the left speaker. It gives me the same feeling a mosquito that flies too close to the ear does. Some of the tracks are less intrusive, but I haven't heard any song that was better than the original or took an interesting angle of it that wasn't annoying to listen to.

you could have just walked out of the blue baby room once you beat him and kept on re-rolling, you should get that idea that every major boss has its doors perma closed out of your head. that only happens with MOM herself.
Use the judgement card in the curse room. It will give either an angel or devil room item depending on what room is on the floor.
First floor you missed a tinted rock. YOU'RE LOSING YOUR EDGE NORTHERNLION.
2nd floor - blessing of piety at the beginning of the floor, gave you the eternal heart.
Can't believe he didn't put the judgement card down in the curse room on necropolis 1 when he spent all that health rerolling
He keeps on missing out stuff like the tinted rock at the start and the blessing which gave him the eternal heart
When you got the random eternal heart it seems they've added blessings which act like curses at the start of floor but give you bonus things rather than bad things
I kind of love how despite having played so much Isaac, NL is oblivious to how broken Habit + Scapular is xD
Soap is a +2 tears and 0.15 shot speed upgrade.
Also, shot speed up isn't bad at all with piercing shots, it won't add knockback cause there is NO MORE knockback
Shot speed still makes it harder to aim, and removes a lot o damage if you get coal.

It's still not good with lump of coal, because the shots stay on the screen for less time.

Also on bosses like chub where you can do extra damage with piercing shots will be less effective because they won't be inside the enemy for as long
I really like the music remix, and the add-ons of course. Well done mod makers! And stupid NL, never notices everything that's so OBVIOUS.
I really wish Bisnap would play this too. NL's series is just to see him picking up new items and listen to him say "I don't know what it does".
Northernlion, I watch your Binding of Isaac videos often and I try to "like" every one, but I don't usually comment.
I just have to say that your childhood stories of southern Ontario are so similar to mine, it makes your videos resonate with me really well. As such I'm basically an eternal fan and Twitch subscriber, so I just want to thank you for all of the laughs you've provided throughout the hundreds of hours videos/streams I've watched.
P.S. Floor hockey _is_ fucking sweet.
Actually, if memory serves me right, you never lost any soul hearts going for guppy. Because you had scapular and no health, you should have been able to proc it for every charge you got. Which means you essentially had infinite rerolls
Unless that's not how scapular works, in which disregard this.

I feel like the D12 effect would be better off as a tarot card or something along those lines. A 4-room charge doesn't really affect anything, because presumably there'll be 4 rooms between each boss in a normal run. I guess it makes telepills kinda good, because if you fight a bad boss, then reroll into another bad boss, you can telepills out and get another charge somehow. But overall, if you're gonna only use it once/floor, I don't get why it should be an 'active' item, the vast majority of which are useful not only on bosses but on many other rooms as well.
You can probably use it after beating a boss to get a second boss and a second boss item

Folding gym door thing was at both my primary schools, but we didn't have boys and girls PE class, it was more used for "one side PE, one side choir practice" deal.

I still don't know much about community remix and want to start somewhat in the dark about items, but the fact that the Polaroid is now a passive is a huge change that I think might warrant playing it over regular Isaac.
I think it would have been better to make the music 50/50 and have remixed songs play sometimes and the regular music play sometimes which would add even more variety. Though I will say I fucking love the cave's remix.
But i still know nothing about more item synergies so maybe wrath of the lamb is still better.

The Scapular wasn't giving you eternal hearts, it was just a floor effect (Blessing of the Piety), just like Curse of the Lost or Curse of the Labyrinth

Blessing of piety gives an eternal heart kind of like a curse it appears at the start of the floor.

At that point, he has the Compass item.....
Soap is a shot speed upgrade, I think. It's like when you get soap in your eyes and cry more.
He got a eternal heart on the second floor because of that blessing at the Start of the floor

I don't know about others but I love this new music.
Sulfer is a neat item, because the actual rock Sulfer, before it was identified as such was known as Brimstone and the items give basically the same thing.
Im not completely sure about this, but I think that "Blood Oath" depends on percentage, EX: if you have half a hart with 4 hp, you do more damage than if you have half a heart with 3 hp

In the beginning, when you got that eternal heart; when you started the floor it said "Blessing of piety". I guess it's like curse of darkness or curse of the labyrinth except you get an eternal heart the beginning of the floor.
I cried when he missed the Tinted Rock on the first floor.
why not just make the community remix your normal Issac playthrough?
The Isaac is real this week, and I like it.
The blessing stat will actually be a stat and the more you are blessed the higher chance you will get a whiteheart on a floor's enterance.
NL, just so you know, you can actually stand just inside the door on curse rooms and keep getting hurt. You don't have to walk all the way out and back in every time
2 minutes into this run and he already doesn't notice that Blessing of Piety gave him the spirit heart.

A small tip, NL: in the Community Remix, you can still go to the Chest, even if you go to Sheol first, which I find interesting.

It Hurts is an amazing item. Using Spidermod it seems to add +2 damage, which is the same as Curved Horn.
All that want to know what counterfeit dollar does: counterfeit dollar gives you like ther normal dollar 99 cents but if you clear a room theres the chance that you loose 1-5 cents.

NL, I just started playing with Spidermod, I got a few questions for you.
Why don't you enable the fixes in the program such as Explosive Diarrhea or teleporting to the Devil Room?
Also, why not just play this version all the time, it's basic Isaac but better..
you probably already figured this out but the thing giving you the eternal heart was blessing of piety. they have blessings now which is basically the opposite of curses
Counterfeit Dollar gives 99 cents but steals 1-5 cents every time you clear a room. It's not listed on the official site but someone asked the author about it and that was his reply.
