    Product Description
    The RELD tester is designed to detect damage to the cylinder head and gasket of combustion, liquid-cooled engines (petrol, diesel, LPG). The tester has the same working principle and the same efficiency as expensive testers and its price is affordable thanks to the innovative method of production.
    In case of a damaged head gasket or the cylinder head itself, a part of the exhaust gas, among other things contains the CO2, which enters the cooling system. The operating principle of the device is based on measuring the CO2 content. With an increased content of CO2, the liquid reacts with the gas and changes colour. The whole process takes only 5 minutes. Our tester offers almost 100% safety if the cylinder gasket isn't broken.
    Set contains:
    - A universal adapter
    - Plastic test pipe
    - RELD reaction liquid with a capacity of 3.4 ounces / 100 ml
    - Instruction manual with steps to perform the test.
    To carry out a test, only 2 ml of liquid is needed.
    Thanks to the kit it is possible to make up to 50 tests.
    RELD reagent liquid is blue.
    If after carrying out all the steps described in the instructions for use the liquid has not changed colour and remains blue - it means that the head gasket and the cylinder head are in perfect condition.
    RELD reagent liquid is yellow or green.
    If the liquid has changed colour from blue to yellow or green - it means that the head gasket or the cylinder head is damaged.
    So does it work - lets see ....

    Thanks for the video guys, I've just purchased one of these RELD test kits and flown it all the way out to Haiti, only to find the fluid is already exposed. I'ts the same colour as yours after the test... What a buggar. Thought I'd leave a comment of appreciation for the video anyway, as it was through this that I could clearly see how bright and blue the original colour should be. Damn. Oh well. Will sub anyway, enjoyed the video and the content was clear and helpful.

      Ours was not the head gasket, the compression test was more informative .. might be worth doing that as ours turned out to be the oil or gearbox cooler ( we could not rebuild twice to determine which, but 80% sure it was the gearbox cooler ) best of luck it’s not a big one

    The coolant in the right of the coolant tank below the return line also looks like chocolate milk.Very rare to have 2 om612 with failed head gasket everywhere you ask they tell you these engines are some of the most reliable.

    oooh first comment! So, same problem on the new engine. That is a shame, and unlucky. I look forward with interest as to how this one works out. I'm trying to think how it could be anything other than a head gasket/crack but haven't come up with anything. It of course has to be across a barrier with coolant on one side and exhaust gas on the other.

    I've got a similar issue, very few to no head gasket classic signs. No contamination in fluids, car dries good, but has an over pressurised coolant expansion tank where it retains gasses even when stone cold, you remove the cap and the level rises like a vacuum,, done this test and had the same colour greenish yellow. Could not run a second test as coolant was so high in the tank by this point it started entering the test bottle towards the end but prior to that it was clearly green to yellow. I'd already expected the result, its been a pain of a problem. Garage's already changed parts that hadn't fixed the issue like water pump.
    Edit just thought id add i dont have the same vehicle as yours

      It’s a mine field - one simple thing is the radiator cap - if old replace it - stress OEM as aftermarket caused our Mitsubishi to get hot and over pressure in the system - cheapest suggestion we have ☹️ best of luck 🤞🏼

      Bummer .. we confirmed the chemical test with a cylinder pressure test, to eliminate the head gasket or crack (ua-cam.com/video/EEokQXW2rIk/v-deo.html) - our coolant was clean, that made us suspect it was not the head area, this confirmed it - then it was a chase around parts that could allow air/gas into the system ua-cam.com/video/z0vLu3v5aBQ/v-deo.htmlsi=cNVow5j7KpbruhEO it was a total pain in the bum - hope you sort your issue

    I need some help if possible. I did this test but 2 things i noticed..... firstly some of my green radiator fluid overflowed up through the left hand tube but didnt come into contact with the blue liquid. Secondly there was no bubbling in the liquids at all,only slight movement from the vibration of the engine,but no bubbling?? Does this mean it wasnt affective or is that indicating somethings wrong?

    • @DrivenMadShow
      @DrivenMadShow  6 місяців тому

      Experts we are not ! this is all guesswork :). ..... as you have green fluid, that's a good sign if you are chasing a suspected head gasket issue, clean coolant = good news - fluid up also suggests the water pump is working well & you are not losing coolant - no bubbling is excellent news, the test is looking for a leak into the system, no bubbles suggests no leak - next is exhaust (if head issues are your goal) smoke ? colour will tell you if there are potential issues, plus you can smell coolant in the exhaust - but everything you write, suggests (again we are not saying we are experts in any way) suggest all is well ? but if you are testing? why and what are you looking for, due to what symptoms ?

      @@DrivenMadShow thanks for the reply. I bought the car 2 weeks ago and I notice some white smoke from the exhaust but its not a huge amount,but tbh I'm not sure which amount if any would be deemed Normal! So that lead me to testing the head gasket as they say white smoke can indicate a problem there. Other then that it drives fine.

    • @DrivenMadShow

      We did, sort of :) - was the oil cooler or gearbox oil cooler - we could not build up the engine and test ( hours of work, and we had coffee to drink :) each individually, but it was one of them ! ( our money was on the gearbox cooler )

    This RELD product is a scam though, theyre just a thermo dye that changes color depending on the temp. Used it one time and turned positive, since I was doing the timing belt off a 1.8t I thought I might aswell do the head gasket since everything was from factory, after all the work I retested it with RELD again and it showed positive once again, My old head gasket wasnt damaged nor do I have any crack on the head, So I went to the product page on Amazon and saw one review of a guy who exposed it by using it on a glass bottle with boiling water and lo and behold the liquid turned green, I did the same test by putting it in a bottle but this time using a hair dryer to heat it up and guess what? it turned green. looking at other reviews people seem to have received their item where the liquid has already turned, I can imagine they have been heated up from the delivery...
    All this led me to believe that they make two types of this liquid one is color changing and the others just blue liquid.

    I have a vacuum problem and a stalling under power problem with mine.
    Also which forums did you find the best. I have tried a few but some ML faults are very elusive.

    • @DrivenMadShow
      @DrivenMadShow  Рік тому

      We had that - when the engine went back in, a random power loss appeared - we could not find it - over and over the vacuum pipes we went - the unseen side of one had the tiniest hole in it, I mean so small, I could not believe it could cause the power loss - it was very close to the connector, we cut 20mm off (with the tiny hole in) it still fitted, problem gone 🥳 (took 2 days to find that !!). Most forums to be honest are shit, lots of genius on there who end up no help - the UKW163, has a chap Robbie something on there, he really knows his stuff but tells you 75% of what you need to know, then takes the piss - so I cannot recommend any - frankly, I find most sadly pointless - 90 just give a stupid answer - my theory is, if you don't know, don't answer ? We have a couple of subscribers (god know how 🤣) who have been super helpful and go out of their way to help in comments - on Panda's and Fiats (as are forums, Fiat ones for whatever reason and OK). Hope you find it - Kind regards J&N
