- Democratic strategist James Carville appeared on the Bill Maher show and claimed that Christians-and/or Christian nationalists-are the biggest threat to America….”worse than Al Queda.” He made many other claims that are a brilliant way to illustrate (1) That Christianity is truly under threat in America. (2) Christian nationalism is used to mean “traditional Christian.” (3) The left and the right mean very different things by the word “democracy.” This short episode is packed with extremely helpful insight.

Well some Christians, and some churches do act like their steeple is bigger than anyone else, but thats nothing to judge all of us Christians on. Also, and most importantly dont judge a relationship w our Lord and Savior from what you see in Christians. God is everything we could never be. Where man fails and sins, God never will. He loves us without ceasing. Man is not Christ!

Carville is the biggest threat to my sanity - he's been a party hack for his entire vocational life. I remember him from the early 90's - he says anything to win and keep power for those who pay him enough. Hey - I recognize that background!

The Great Inversion? But whatsoever the case, I sense a dark objective afoot, and as we know John, Christianity of all major religions is the most hated? "For my sake the world will hate you" (Jesus said this), but the level of hatred is unbelievable, nevertheless, longsuffering, persecution and whatsoever comes in the, I will not risk my Salvation. Thanks John, did not know you have a book out, I know it is mostly aimed at the US but, what you see in the USA is true in many western countries and since the time you did this podcast look at the UK, look at Australia. The world is changing and 'one world government' is not the issue 'government by default is' and I believe it will lead to a 'one world tyrannical slash hunger games dystopia' yes.
There are many groups( a lot of calvinists) that feel we need to push Christian nationalism. Because of their soteriology and end time beliefs they believe it is Christian’s responsibility to build Christendom 2.0. Therefore we need to push Christian nationalism and push for all government to be controlled by Christian’s once again. As far as I know it’s not saying to push the Christian religion on everyone. People would still be free to worship as they desire but the core Christian values would govern the country. I enjoy listening to the hard men podcast and others like it. I don’t always agree with everything though. I’m not a Calvinist.
I don't think that's Calvinism as much as it's a postmil eschatology. I know of premil Calvinists that don't agree with Christian Nationalism.
That’s postmillennialism. I would consider myself somewhat Calvinist but I don’t have those end time beliefs and I very much appreciate religious freedom for all.
Yeah I agree with you both. I didn’t mean to make it sound as though Calvinists are to blame for CN. It is more of an eschatological view.
