Man, if we have more people like you the earth is gonna be a better place to live. you preserve the past (giving value to the history) and future (this modular maintenance, and upgradable). thank you a lot.
This product impresses me so many different ways. The one thing about it that is so good is the build quality with the made to last factor. Not too many things built like this anymore. Others could learn from this. Just great...
I still use an original Bose wave radio. They made a bigger version too. But they are quite plasticky, despite being very heavy due to the aluminum waveguide inside. I’d like to see a cute matching tuner to sit atop or below the Excelsior. Some of us still listen to the radio at home and want it to sound better than the typical clock radio.
I was so happy to hear both of the drivers are neodymium magnets. This is how you tell a company is serious about value and no compromise sound, unlike so many others. Neodymium simply sounds better at any price level. As an owner I would put a heatsink on the Wi-Fi / Cpu chip. How much will it retail? 999? Great investment.
This is revolutionary, not only from the engineering design but also the outstanding quality of build. It shows your commitment to sustainability and quality of the build, There really is nothing else out there which has this level of thoughtful design in audio, congratulations Jonathan!
wait but how do you replace it with something specifically built for it unless yall make new boards forever with the ever changing tech? If i wanted an r2r dac, i cant just pop that out and find one of the shelf that will work.
Great out of the box thinking. Again. AND if (micro-) vibrations and magnetic fields influence the components (and thus their properties, thus sound), why are they in the same box as the drivers? Why not in a separate little box, connected with high quality leads? NB i have no intention to be negative, but i just wonder, and am sure you have a good explanation.
The vibrations and fields from the drivers are small enough that the impact is negligible. There is an aluminum casting and a metal enclosure around the electronics that provides shielding and insulating foam to damp internal vibrations. However, in this application size and ease of use were very important and adding more boxes defeats the purpose of why it was created in the first place.
I wish more companies designed products like this, We need to return to American built, easily repairable, and long lasting products instead of this Chinese garbage.
The world needs more people like you.
I rarely find the word sustainable more appropriate to define this system

I like the way you think. Quality will last for generations.

that's an amazing concept for audio, i think this is the first one i've seen...
I heard these in Munich 2023. They created a room filling seductive quality sound. 👍🏼🔊🔉🔈
Like my 32 year old Saab.
I am sold. Gotta check it out.
More Intrigue!!! And forethought okay my kind of thinking!!!
Completely unexpected knocked me over flat footed.
Looks beautiful.....well done considering future fixes or upgrades 😁👍
16Hz Bass that is astonishing!
Looks like an evolutionary step from a Bose Wave Radio.
Glad I'm not the only one who noticed that.

Please tell me in what way does the Excelsior resemble that cheap piece of crap?

Revolutionary idea in these times! You will OWN things, LOVE them, KEEP them and BE HAPPY!
Wonder when they will come after A and A/B amps
you sound like Preston Tucker of sound! great concept, love it!!
Jonathan always drops the mic! Love this and need this…!!

Thank you, Ian!
Hope it does well for Fleetwood, more American produced speakers is a good thing for us all.
Please use ESD procedures when handling the PCBs. ESD is insidious, a disastrous fault may occur immediately or in the future!

Need a stocking cap w bobble on top 😮
Hifi makers should make consoles like they used to do in the 40s, 50s and 60s with a turntable and radio built in. So practical and easy to use.
We used to call them radiograms
Absolutely agreed
How much does a pair of the Excelsior speakers cost?
id guess 15K.. minimum
Excellent job as ever.
Thank you, much appreciated!

I wonder if I will be able to buy one in Singapore, conceptually, this looks amazing.
I am sure you can contact them and make an arrangement no problem.
What’s the price?
Is this class D amp?
Is it Class d?
Weird.
absolutely great stuff, but change electronics by yourself is not a new idea. Accuphase offers amps with interchangeable electronics for years.
Not unique, but uncommon to be sure.
