@@holloway4686 I assume it's to simulate only two lines firing at once whilst the others reload. I was thinking "why wasn't the mountains of bodies slowing the Spartans down".
@@holloway4686 that is true, and also in a realistic setting, the spartans would have a much harder time moving past their dead comrades. Looked like the modern soldiers lost in this case simply because the mountain of corpses made it so that they had no line of fire before they were already in melee range... if they had been allowed to take a few steps back when the mountain was getting too high, i think the modern soldiers would won the simulation
Apparently, they are 3 rules here: 1. Unlimited Bullet with no reloading 2. Spartans can't throw their spears 3. Modern army can shoot through their teammates
And they can't back up if the Spartan zombies start closing in. Gabriel at the pearlie gates: It says here you managed to kill 3000 Spartan zombies before one of them killed you with a spear.... Soldier: That's impressive right? Gabriel: No dude WTF? You have guns. Why didn't you just back up? You could have won!
You forgot that Spartans can run over a mountain of corpses without impediment. The soldiers are forced to clump up in a platoon. There is no psychological effect on the Spartans who are watching the front line get decimated easily. The list goes on
It’s unclear which side was more stupid: the Spartans for failing to improvise by flanking and swarming - or the modern soldiers for failing to retreat.
My grandfather fought in this battle. If you look closely you can see him at 6:54. He was the one trying to make an end run to flank the enemy and the commander refused and demanded he climb over the mound of bodies like all the other 19,999 Spartans did. He was my hero and this battle should have gone so much differently. I think about it every day
Unlimited ammo, not needing to reload, firing through soldiers in front and no one thought to use one grenade. So realistic I simply cannot believe it.
I mean....its almost like this battle between Spartans and modern day soldiers in this vast desert wasteland was faked some how?!?!? Without your help, people might have thought this was an actual battle that took place. Thank you good citizen, you have truly righted the wrongs today.
Its a GAME. My main issue was that dead bodies having no physics or collision, if the bodies had of piled up it would have made it a LOT more realistic. But again, its a "basic" game, there are others & there is also a MUCH better sequel.
This raises many questions, and I'm not sure I want to bother reading the answers: Why do the Spartans break ranks? Why don't they try to encircle the soldiers? Is there a Spartan commander? Why don't they use their shields as shields? Why doesn't a Spartan grab a dying comrade and use him as a shield? Why don't the soldiers retreat? Do THEY have a commander? How much ammo do the soldiers have, and why don't they need to reload? How do I get my seven minutes back?
Spartan shields are made of bronze and wood, so unlikely to effectively defend against modern rifles. The scale of the dead also seemed unrealistic -- after a few minutes of slaughter it should have become unfeasible for the Spartans to run up a corpse mountain.
The Spartans should do " the banzai " and attack in waves formation. The distance between the Spartans and modern soldiers will determine who wins and who loses. The further the distance in favour the modern soldiers whilst the closer the distance will favour the Spartans.
@@joshwillingham4592 Naw barrels do heat to the point of failure, semi or automatic is irrelevant thats just the mechanism. Its the rate of firing and the barrel not having enough time to cool is the issue.
This is 100% accurate, everybody knows our modern soldiers recently upgraded to infinite ammo. *Edit* WTF?! How did this get so many likes? It's literally a shit comment!
look up DARPA and the kind of weaponry they have. Besides the weather wars (Texas, Alabama) they have technology that is sci fi. You can’t beat them with guns. Guns are a joke. they can send a drone to you and only you. Have you ever given your dna to a doctor or a heritage service? A little mosquito drone with your dna programmed can cut right through your screen.
I understand the sarcasm, although you are completely missing the point that modern soldiers are the ones who were placed in the most disadvantage here. 1. They wouldn't just stand grouped in to a square formation. It would be more like a spread line - to cover the most area. 2. For some reason the Spartans start just 100 meters away - this is just ridiculous. You do know the aiming distance of a modern assault rifle is about 500-800 meters, right? They would start slaughtering them way before they could reach the 100 meters distance. 3. Stepping back is an option (although it wouldn't be necessary considering #1 and #2 above). 4. it's kinda weird that some of spartans keep running forward after being hit. Bullets don't work that way. You get hit once - you're out. And no, their shields can't protect at all, for a modern assault rifle spartanian shield is no better than a piece of cardboard. (it's only in video games you have to shoot 1 guy several times before he dies, in real life 1 bullet is quite enough) And as for the spartan's formation - it's actually quite correct, they were fighting in phalanx. So in case of war that's exactly how they would start their battle.
@@user-lv6qm3fj2z 1. Yes, they would spread out probably since the firing in this video would be prohibited by military standarts. They are "firing through each other" 2. The "aiming distance of a modern assault rifle" depends on its scope. 500 - 800 meters is the effective range of the gun, meaning at which distance in most cases it still deals proper damage. A 5,56 mm round is not the fastest bullet, and when a target is running, you have to lead the bullet anywhere over 100 meters distance to the target. The soliders in this video are holding an m16 (which fires 5,56 mm rounds), which they would probably use with iron sights, holo sights or some kind of red dot + x4 magnification dual purpose scope. These weapons have recoil, and firing at anything above 250 meters makes even firing salves for most modern soliders impossible, since the weapon recoil makes pointing the gun hard for them. They would fire at a much lower frequency, and probably while laying on the ground to keep their aim more steady, or kneeing, since they know they have a lot of targets and can't afford to run out of strength in their arms while standing. Full auto at anything above 50 meters is impossible for most modern soliders. 3. No. Most modern soliders can not walk backwards while trying to aim above or below the shield of a running solider, especially if they might step on someone else or equipment nearby that they need to have close to them. And in this video you see US Marines, becouse of the Weapons they use (m16) and their camouflage color. Most US Marines are not used to walking on sand, especially not backwards. A m16 has clips of 30 rounds each, which requires a lot of reloads, and most modern soliders, especially the ones going into the desert like in this video do not carry a lot of gear. Reloading would make this pretty much impossible for most, overheating the gun comes on top of that for most cases (most assault rifles are just made from steel, and heat up each time a round goes off in the barell, and makes them bend if they continue firing), and most soliders in these cases would have an ammo truck somewhere next to them where they can take clips from, which also requires concentration and time to manage. 4. The shields used by the spartans was the Aspis (Look that up in wikipedia) Which was 25 - 38 mm thick, and consisted out of a bronze layer with wood underneath it. Most times a 5,56 mm moves through material like that it fragments at the end, leaving fast traveling shrapnel to hit things behind it. If the spartans would have worn some kind of breastplate, the shrapnell would have mostly gotten deflected at the second layer becouse of the low mass of the shrapnell. You seem to have no knowledge about how bullets behave, since it happens quite often that a solider gets hit and doesn't die in modern battles. A 5,56 rounds does not have a lot of stopping power, some people even survived shots to the head by it (Without a helmet). There are some videos on youtube in which soliders in Afghanistan got hit by a 7,62 mm, which is significantly larger in diameter and overall bullet size, and survived. In a scenario like this most modern soliders would fight the heat of the desert, being hard on their concentration, trying to balance weapon recoil, manage their balance on the sand below their feet they aren't used to, and trying to coordinate how they get more ammo in case they run out. In a realistic battle in this scenario most modern soliders would have died after killing somewhere between 100 and 1000 spartans, since they also miss shots, have to reload, and the other points mentioned above. In real life in most cases the soliders would have called in artillery or an air strike before it gets to that point. What artillery does in this situation you can see from the Russia / Ukraine videos of the TOS - 1 Artillery tank. As of Jets there are bombs called "cluster bombs" which open up during their flight path, and make smaller bombs spread out over a huge area. Most spartans if not dead in the blast would have been injured by the blast of such a weapon or at least disorientated and with their eardrums missing. If something was still standing in most cases they would have done a second run with the Jet on the targets or a second run of the Artillery.

The fact that the modern soldiers never once thought of putting some distance between them and the bodies, allowing for the Spartans to effectively be on high ground - even if that high ground was a mountain of dead people they somehow thought they had to go over instead of around - and losing their main advantage of being able to kill from a distance is almost as impressive as the infinite ammo they were given.
The Greeks Spartans haven't used arrows are spears the modern troops haven't used their grenade launchers. It's up to the modern troops to keep them from closing the distance. The Modern troops should be leap forging away from the Greek one squad lays down a base of fire while the others move. Then they stop and lay down a base of fire. The easy way would be to use arty are gun ships.
At a minimum, the modern soldiers would have benefited from more of a V-formation, as the Spartan Pincer formed. But then, the Spartans wound have surely surrounded the modern soldiers 360 degrees, at which point their numbers would actually become decisive as there just aren’t enough modern soldiers to prevent that circle from closing into effective spear distance. Of course, limit the modern soldiers to realistic levels of ammo, and the limitations of weapon overheating, and it would have been a hugely different outcome, even with actual tactics.
100 soldiers would be carrying more than 30k rounds into combat. They would also be falling back. The rifles would also take a psychological toll on an army that had never encountered one. Spartans were not world war z undead.
And they are glad that the Spartans did not throw their spears. On the other hand ✋ the soldiers did not have grenade launchers, or hand grenades and even in the face of immanent doom, the Spartans never break ranks or get routed watching the first 10,000 die.
Unlimited ammo? Five hundred rounds each gives them 50,000 rounds. And three-round to five-round bursts will keep the barrel cool enough. With that kind of concentrated fire it would look and sound like everyone was on full auto with unlimited ammunition.
Typical modern soldier kit out: Rifle - 7 mags x 30 rounds = 210 rounds. Sidearm 3 mags x 17 rounds.= 51 rounds. Total 261 bullets x 100 soldiers = 26,100 bullets. More than enough for 20,000 Spartans!
Spartans: - No fear of magic boom sticks that turn everything within range to hamburger. - Sure footing on mountain created by the fallen corpses of their fellow Spartans. Also soldiers: - Do not move from the position you started in. Prevents them from switching to a better formation or even retreating out of spear throwing range while continuing to fire.
Right, I mean the Zulus beat the British as the battle of Islandwana, they actually had the element of surprise and superior knowledge of the terrain and used tactics.
@@TemujinMSM and yet the same zulu's lost at rourke's drift. The zulu's had comparable weapons to the spartans and the defenders of Rourke's drift had about 3% of the firepower of modern soldiers.
I don’t think you have to be a military genius to understand that running at a full sprint with the one piece of cover you have, hanging by your side, right into constant fire is a bad idea
Aside from everything else wrong that's been pointed out, if Spartans observed what kind of magical ranged weapons their enemy had, they certainly wouldn't have been stupid enough to take a single, tight formation, either.
what formation do you suppose 20,000 men can take to approach a group only 100 people strong? a line 20,000 men wide standing shoulder to shoulder is about 10 miles wide. 3/4'sw of the Spartans would be 20 minutes from getting into combat while everyone close enough would be dead. there is no magic formation that allows 20,000 people to try and close to stabbing range and not be an unmissable target. imagine half a football stadium trying to rush down onto the field and climb up the other side of the stadium against 100 men with rifles. now stretch that approach out ten times longer because instead of getting killed at 50 yards the Spartans are getting dropped like flies at 500 yards. the modern soldiers are faster, have better optics, have camouflage, radios and ranged weapons beyond Spartans wildest imagination. They could just kill a few hundred Spartans and retreat over and over and never once would a spartan get within 50 yards of them.
@@brianb7388 bro modern soldiers would get fucked up in hand to hand combat the Spartans were bread for war as soon as they were around 7 , but technology makes it so it doesn’t matter so the modern soldiers would just homing missle them mfs
@@mikah_legend1272 in straight up hand to hand combat the moderns would stand a decent chance. Much better than most of the people posting here assume. Modern soldiers are bigger, stronger and faster. Not just by a little but by a large margin. In every hundred modern soldiers there's 10-20 who are well over 200lbs, some will have trained as boxers, kick boxers and/or mixed martial artists. Any of those people is going to prove very formidable for 5'7" 160lb guy no matter how much mythology has been attached to their legend. There's a reason they have weight classes in combat sports. If you're talking about hand to hand combat with swords then obviously the Spartans win 99 out of 100. None of this matters. The battle is going to end in under 2 minutes when the Spartans realize they just took more casualties in a shorter time span than any battle in spartan history. The reason modern soldiers don't train much in unarmed combat is because modern weapons are so effective at killing people long before the range drops to zero.
If you're going that route, then make it so that soldiers would know fear as well. A big part of ancient battles is the routing of foes. I would wager that many of the Spartans would rout and flee the battlefield after seeing countless comrades fall to 'magic' in the blink of an eye.
They really have increased load-outs and mag capacity! Tactics: stand in place and just shoot, shoot through the soldiers in front of you. Just don’t move. Using the lowest number of rounds per minute at 700, there would be a total of 490,000 rounds fired during this engagement. They would almost be up to their necks in brass, oh and their barrels and some components would have melted before the halfway point of the firefight.
@@chaddufour7693 possibly mags getting a bit hot too... some mags exploding. I assume we can only see the tracer rounds in the video so the actual fire rate would be a lot greater than it seems.
Who believes the Spartans are too stupid to change strategy after quickly realizing the superior weapons of the opponent? Congratulations, you are ready to get vaccinated.
Wow, those modern soldiers can not only shoot through each other, they can fire on full auto without intermission for hours. No overheated barrels, no jamming, no problem.
that's not full auto. 100 rifles with semi automatic fire is more than 65 rounds per second continuous. they would also obviously spread out to form a line and continue to walk backwards as they slaughtered the spartans at will. the spartans meanwhile would be treading through blood and brains and guys screaming in agony and be slowed down massively. 100 riflemen means grenades, machineguns, mortars, claymore mines, rifle grenades, anti tank rockets. they don't stand in formation 4 deep and vs 20,000 targets forced to charge, they would barely miss at all. this is world war 1 casualties crossing no mans land when only one side is shooting and the other is out in the open. the defenders can keep backing up to extend the range and the attackers are going to be lucky if 50% of their number don't flee after they see the ten guys in front of them turned to pink mist.
1 modern with weapons 100 soldiers could fire a 100,000 rounds in about 10 minutes depending on the round 1 round would go through 2 or 3 soldiers it would have been over alot faster
Well to be fair the Spartans did have some advantages to as if you were one and the most advanced weapons you had were bows and short swords and your enemy had a weapon that would kill you in a blink of an eye and made a sound like thunder a retreat would be likely.Same could be said about the soldiers but I think they’d have confidence in their gun. Then the Spartans seeing hundreds if not thousands of their dead without a scratch on the enemy would also be terrifying. The bodies from the dead would also act as snares and pull be hard to walk over.Of course it doesn’t completely balance it out but if you think about it does pretty much allow the Spartans to win
So there is a real life example of this, kinda. In 1879, approx. 20,000 Zulu spearmen attacked around 2000 British soldiers armed with bolt action rifles and a few Gatling machine guns, basically a machine gun on a cannon mount. Unlike the Spartans in this silly sim, The Zulu won by departing from their usual boxed phalanx formations by spreading out over the terrain using the cover of tall grasses and flanking on both sides in a horn attack thereby limiting their losses and overwhelming the British. In fact the British still had tens of thousands rounds left when they were overwhelmed. Like modern guns, the Gatling's had issues with overheating. As the Russians proved in WWII and even now in Ukraine, Bayonet charges of soldiers lacking any ammunition still works if you have more men then the enemy has bullets. As the modern infantryman has a 210 round loadout, a force of of at least 21,200 spearmen would beat 100 modern soldiers, assuming perfect shot accuracy.
No Gatling gun at Isandlwana, but the coastal column had one. At Isandlwana, 750 British soldiers and 1000 colonial troops faced about 15,000 Zulus. Only around 100 of the colonials had firearms. The British rifles were single shot breech loaders, not magazine fed bolt action. OTOH, a modern 100-man rifle company would have at least 20 beltfed machine guns, a similar number of grenade launchers and of larger explosive projectors, ie rocket launchers, recoilless rifles and/or antitank guided missiles. Each MG would have some 700 rounds, while, as you note, each of ~80 riflemen would carry at least seven 30 round magazines. There would also be many pistols. Even such a small company should also have a section of two or three 60mm mortars or 30-40mm automatic grenade launchers. With proper tactics, the moderns could defeat the Spartans, even if reinforced with auxiliary archers. Rifles out range arrows, and modern body armor and helmets would stop them anyway.
Having climbed over mountains of corpses in my days as an ancient Spartan, I can tell you, this is an absurd video. There's no way you can traverse that much man jelly that quickly.
Speaking as a prior-service soldier who was issued an M4A1 with a unlimited magazine, the barrel gets pretty hot after the first 30,000 or so rounds on full-auto. This video is ridiculous since, in reality, they would need to take a 2-3 second pause every 10,000 rounds fired in order to keep the barrel cool.
I remember brother, I was ready to die a glorious death with you by my side. It was only thanks to the wealth of knowledge from some of the comments that we are still alive to this day because apparently the medieval times came before the Spartans when in fact they were separated by over 600 years and the reverse at the very least it’s a bitch getting old I mean you’re like eight years older than I was back then so you’re probably 3600 years young or so. That was trading jokes with the Leonidas and the the knights of the round table he couldn’t sit down obviously because he died 1600 years earlier or so. Wait! Simulation? What are we simulating? Anyway it was good catching up with you brother I’m glad to hear that you’re still doing well in the prime of your life. Be well.

The modern soldiers formation is dumb as hell. A double rank formation with the front rank on a knee would have been much more tactically sound. However….with dumb the formation if the back ranks were using explosives the whole time then it would have made a lot more sense. But….no explosives were used just an endless and unfaltering expenditure of ammo. Yeah…
Hypothetically, let’s say each of those soldiers had the standard combat load for the m4a1 (which is 7 mags with 30 rounds, 1 in the weapon and 6 on their carrier) each. That equals out to 210 rounds per soldier. There are 100 soldiers each with 210 rounds which equals to 21,000 rounds. So I guess technically if they never miss their mark and hit each one of the Spartans center mass this could theoretically work and they each would have 10 rounds to spare.
That assumes the Spartans stand still. GEN Gorman ran the numbers on a Soviet tank attack, and the key factor was the time it took for the tanks to cross the field as a function of speed. So US tanks could shoot 2x before they had to fall back or be overrun. The USMC ran a test of expert shooters against moving targets.... the hit % was zero. The USMC is now investing heavily in combat ranges with active, moving targets. Generally, based on combat data, far more enemy are wounded than killed. Just getting hit anywhere is not necessarily lethal.
They would have died quicker the way the soliders were positioned was retarded if they had been in a line one next to each other they would be 2-4x as effective because the ones at the back weren’t shooting
The modern soldiers would run out of ammo and get slaughtered eventually. The weirdest thing about this is I didn't see any Spartans hold up their shields to block gunfire or throw a single spear. That would've been good to see cuz the Spartans were smart as well as tough AF too. Hopefully some other viewers thought the same thing I did.
If you want get realistic which is actually very petty but modern soldier will simulate the combat before going into war besides morder soldiers would use tanks
Well thank God those modern soldiers: Had unlimited ammo Never had to reload Never had their weapons overheat And had the perfect caliber to get through the shield And thank God the Spartans: Weren't wearing full armor Didn't march in any kind of formation Didn't bring up their shields Didn't throw spears or javelins Didn't have any kind of cavalry Didn't use slings And ran straight ahead instead of trying to surround them I know it's a game but come on. My suspension of disbelief can only go so far.
So stupid mags only hold 30 + 1 chamber if some have m249’s then they have 200 rounds in gun but you have to reload lmao so dumb the 100 men would be slaughtered

I can't believe no one has mentioned the fact that the modern soldiers couldn't move. Even a steady slow march aft would have extended this whole thing a lot. And yes I understand the infinite ammo, and friendly fire off is ridiculous as well.

@@amazingfireboy1848 nah, I don't think that would have made huge difference. It might have helped but those shields can pe penetrated by arrows, against bullets, it doesn't stand a chance.
Yeah, there was obviously a rule that the modern soldiers had to stay in that formation. That is not how that would've been fought in reality....considering modern soldiers are fighting Spartans. A first year cadet at west point would see this out come. They'd be spread out in fire teams with interlocking fields of fire. It eliminates the possibility of shooting the same spartan by multiple modern soldiers, simultaneously supporting eachother. It would force the Spartans to split up in to groups to attack the separate fire teams making it easier to eliminate 20000 Spartans in batches rather than all at once.
Also the spartans would have thrown their spears or use their numerical advantage to envelope the enemy which I don't see happening. Not a very good sim imo
The Spartans started winning once they took the high ground. Not having any high ground available from the start didn't stop them from creating some high ground.
@@adamirishconundrum851 agreed assuming enough bullets. But also pretty sure Spartans would have been routed when they lost 5000 in a one sided firefight similar to the colonial wars.

If it was real the soldiers would've spread more and retreat too as the spartans get closer. Using semi auto and saving ammo would also be good. About the overheating, that's not a big problem when you have quality handguards, the biggest problem is when the gun starts getting jammed.

The fact that not one spartan threw their spear is a little odd not to mention unlimited ammo and the guns melting after all that non stop shooting. Spartans could have just surrounded them from all angles it’d be over
I think the 20k Spartans would win in RL very earlier. Because of some logic errors :) 1) The Soldiers in Lane 2, 3 and 4 could not shoot through their comrades infront of them, with this formation. 2) The Soldier would need to reload after every 30th bullet. 3) The Spartans could throw their spears. 4) The Spartans could surround them and attack from alle directions, that would decrease the density of the bullet-storm at the front. Even if you put the soldiers in a circle-formation, they would get overrunned very early ;)
This is battle of 100 vs 20000 not airstrike...and this is irrelevant...what about reloading and bullets...and they could have made a circle...spartans were known for strategy
Air strike at that close range would be asking for death. Be realistic- those 100 modern soldiers wouldn't have unlimited ammo. They would eventually be cut to pieces- if you actually read some history on Spartans you would realize their tactics weren't as dumb as you think..
Did you disable the Spartans ability to throw the spear I feel like if they were able to throw Spears they would have started killing the modern soldiers along time ago
Yes. they would start throwing their spears. They wouldn't just keep rushing headlong into a hail of gunfire. They wouldn't know what gunfire was, but they'd see its' effect and act accordingly.
@@cristianbenites4521 well the spartans didn't use bows because they believed it to be a cowards weapon because in battle they weren't killing their enimes up close, but if they all threw their spears it would have worked
Factors that need to be considered for making the simulation more accurate: 1. Terrain should not be perfectly flat. 2. Spartans are not dumb enough, they can throw spears. 3. Modern soldiers must reload the magazine and their gun barrel should be choked after firing continuously. 4. Modern soldiers can use there feet too. 5. Shield should have some resistance to bullets.
So about 150.000 ammo spent, that means that every soldier had to have 1500 ammo at his spot, assuming that he had m16 with 30 rounds that means that ewach soldier had to have 50 magazines, 4kg per magazine that is about 200kgs of ammo per soldier. Also Spartans had spears, they could have used it as a thrown weapon, they would have also attacked from sides...
Well we all know that Spartans could easily step over bodies at the same speed as solid ground. Weapons also never jam and nobody would form a wedge in that situation and slowly move back. And who wants a .50 cal, or tank, when you can have an AR? Super realistic.
But you haven't thought about how difficult it is to run over or climb over dead Spartans. At some point, there would have been a wall, and an incline, making this much much harder for the Spartans
Realistically this would have been over in 1 minute. Without close air support or Artillery, they would have been flanked and overwhelmed with 100s of spears flying through the air.
@@jamaljones6125 Purely predicated upon the liberties taken when analyzing this fiasco. Two rank ranks for the modern soldiers, three at most, think Zulu 👌 they could gradually fall back while still applying over lapping fields of fire I hope the ones in this video have heat proof barrels to 😂
Realistically the Spartans would have broken and ran after the first few hundred dropped dead from magic boom sticks at a few hundred yards. I agree about the one minute part though. 😉

Tip to make it even more ridiculous: Line up the 20.000 Spartans one behind the other. This way one single soldier with unlimited ammo would do.
I got the sarcasm 🤣👌
(it's only in video games you have to shoot 1 guy several times before he dies, in real life 1 bullet is quite enough)
And as for the spartan's formation - it's actually quite correct, they were fighting in phalanx. So in case of war that's exactly how they would start their battle.
@@user-lv6qm3fj2z
1. Yes, they would spread out probably since the firing in this video would be prohibited by military standarts. They are "firing through each other"
Así de inútiles son las muertes de los soldados en una guerra por caprichos de un presidente ucraniano.

Those Spartans used the Russian WWII strategy. Send more men than the machine gun's bullets.

Wow, those modern soldiers can not only shoot through each other, they can fire on full auto without intermission for hours. No overheated barrels, no jamming, no problem.
Yeah well they aren't using grenades or retreating or using more powerful weapons
that's not full auto.
@@brianb7388 also the fact that a 50 caliber would easily go through 4-5 bronze shields and the men behind them.

So I guess technically if they never miss their mark and hit each one of the Spartans center mass this could theoretically work and they each would have 10 rounds to spare.
If you are talking about modern solders then they also have machines gun , launchers and graneds
how about the shoot position?
The Spartans didn't even throw their spears
That assumes the Spartans stand still.
GEN Gorman ran the numbers on a Soviet tank attack, and the key factor was the time it took for the tanks to cross the field as a function of speed. So US tanks could shoot 2x before they had to fall back or be overrun.
The USMC ran a test of expert shooters against moving targets.... the hit % was zero. The USMC is now investing heavily in combat ranges with active, moving targets.
Generally, based on combat data, far more enemy are wounded than killed. Just getting hit anywhere is not necessarily lethal.
Friendlyfire should be activated lol
What an absolute strategic masterpiece! Wow the script for this was unreal 👏👏👏
I was expecting the spartans to throw a few spears
Yeah me too
Use bow and arrows
Yeah
Definitely cheating
Extra spears with the fallen too
And they don't even flank to attack from the sides
They would in real life.
Spartans: "I wonder if we should go around"
Other spartans: "and miss all the fun!!?"
I thought the same too
What’s the name of this Crazy Game ?😀😅
in games you dont need a real shield ...they just have a life bar
If you want get realistic which is actually very petty but modern soldier will simulate the combat before going into war besides morder soldiers would use tanks
The Spartans definitely wouldn't have taken that many losses. Just running straight at an enemy with better weapons is a tactic they'd soon change!
Well thank God those modern soldiers:
Had unlimited ammo
Never had to reload
Never had their weapons overheat
And had the perfect caliber to get through the shield
And thank God the Spartans:
Weren't wearing full armor
Didn't march in any kind of formation
Didn't bring up their shields
Didn't throw spears or javelins
Didn't have any kind of cavalry
Didn't use slings

Apparently, the modern soldiers had the "no friendly-fire" and "infinite ammo" cheats on.
And no reload
The modern soldiers didnt use any tactics they didnt even walk backwards to maintain the distance
No melting barrels
& Spartans decided against flanking or enveloping the enemy, you know tactics 101 when you outnumber the enemy by that amount.
And the no air support mode also was on, and the no grenades switch was on too.

I can't believe no one has mentioned the fact that the modern soldiers couldn't move. Even a steady slow march aft would have extended this whole thing a lot. And yes I understand the infinite ammo, and friendly fire off is ridiculous as well.

When they said that high ground gives an advantage, I dont think they meant "create an high ground with the bodies of your comrades" but yet here we are. It worked
They could've survived better if they actually used their sheilds.
@@amazingfireboy1848 nah, I don't think that would have made huge difference. It might have helped but those shields can pe penetrated by arrows, against bullets, it doesn't stand a chance.
"It's over Anakin ! I have 18106 dead Obi-Wans as a high ground !"
And also the Spartans were duplicating numbers.
It is the way
Well, the modern soldiers should have moved backwards while shooting, creating space..
Not a very good sim imo
and the spartans should have used their dead comrades as meat shields. It's super effective you know
But the Spartans could've surrounded them and attacked from the rear too. So not much strategy from either side
And use AOE weapon for that many targets..
The Spartans started winning once they took the high ground. Not having any high ground available from the start didn't stop them from creating some high ground.
Obi-Wan

They would have had a hard time walking through all of the bodies so they probably would have had time to reload

The most unrealistic thing is that his PC never overheats
If it was real the soldiers would've spread more and retreat too as the spartans get closer. Using semi auto and saving ammo would also be good. About the overheating, that's not a big problem when you have quality handguards, the biggest problem is when the gun starts getting jammed.
The spartans was Very clever indeed! They would never have faced projectiles without opposing them with a phalanx of shields.

@@ate7714 I don't think the shields would've held on for long.
I think the 20k Spartans would win in RL very earlier. Because of some logic errors :)
1) The Soldiers in Lane 2, 3 and 4 could not shoot through their comrades infront of them, with this formation.
Everyone complaining about accuracy. A modern soldier would’ve just called an airstrike
He’ll yeah you’re right I ain’t even think of that
Artilleries or mortars would be equally effective. Even grenade launchers will do.
They won't , too close.

Spartans were also untrained because the back could have split off to the left and right to flank the soldiers. Instead they stand there idly.
In reality Spartans have no chance against modern weapons۔
So about 150.000 ammo spent, that means that every soldier had to have 1500 ammo at his spot, assuming that he had m16 with 30 rounds that means that ewach soldier had to have 50 magazines, 4kg per magazine that is about 200kgs of ammo per soldier. Also Spartans had spears, they could have used it as a thrown weapon, they would have also attacked from sides...
now we know why they didn't step back slowly. Too heavy with ammo...
Well we all know that Spartans could easily step over bodies at the same speed as solid ground. Weapons also never jam and nobody would form a wedge in that situation and slowly move back. And who wants a .50 cal, or tank, when you can have an AR?
Super realistic.
What?! 4kg per magazine? Is it holding 30 rounds of 20mm?!
@The Silenced I know I made a mistake, it's more like 2pounds, roughly 1kg, so 50kg each soldier
But you haven't thought about how difficult it is to run over or climb over dead Spartans. At some point, there would have been a wall, and an incline, making this much much harder for the Spartans
