The muted part (presumably because of the background music) is actually when they all give their final thoughts on the movie. Kind of the most important part, don't you think?🙂 Luckily, I still have the pre-UA-cam version, so here's what they had to say… *Paw:* "Well, I think it's great. It did a wonderful job to update the musical as well as adapt it in a way that moviegoers would enjoy. It has its problems here and there, but I think it's fantastic just to see it in movie form." *Kyle:* "Well, I thought it was terrible. It's clumsy, it's awkward, it's full of moment upon moment that doesn't work, and it commits the biggest crime any adaptation could: it made me question whether or not the material it's adapting was that damn great to begin with." Then they both look at the Nostalgia Critic. "You?" *NC:* "Well, as someone who enjoyed the musical but acknowledges that it had problems, I think the film is kind of similar. Some moments hit it right out of the park, and others don't even make it up to bat. So, on the whole, I'm glad I saw it, but I don't think it's great." *Kyle:* "Wait, so it's like, dislike and indifferent." *NC:* "Well, hell, that's pretty much what the rest of the critics of the world thought. There was no real majority consensus. It's one of those movies that is so hard to get a fix on that pretty much everybody had a different reaction to it."
I know this is from a while ago but in Hugh’s defence he can sing well. It’s just that, like Russel and many of the main people in the film besides Anne, they really don’t have the voices for THIS musical. If you want a good version of Les Miserables with good singing and stuff that helps you understand the story I recommend the 10th anniversary production. It’s on UA-cam and on DVD. A more staged production, the 25th anniversary version, is also on dvd and probably elsewhere too. I’m a huge Les Miserable nerd. Read the book when I was ten because I fell in love with the musical when I was like eight or nine. The reason the musical jumps over so much is… HAVE YOU SEEN THE SIZE OF THE BOOK?!
Yeah, after the video ended, I just had to look the person up, it slowly drove me to insanity, because I knew I've seen him before, but could not quite place my finger as to where, he was from the theory of everything, the stephen hawking movie, ^_^
Yeah. For me, from the ones I have seen, I liked fiddler on the roof and Mary Poppins the best for different reasons. Both are well placed, easily builds up the drama and the tension, for what little there is of that in Mary Poppins, and both have epic performances. Les miz, while I did enjoy it, I sobbed like a bitch at Ann Hathaway's performance on I dreamed a dream and when Jean died, but they seemed to skip over so much. Like, seriously, 1 second he's ripping up his parole papers and the next he's a mayor running a factory? How? Give context movie. Show us the projection. Don't just say "he's a mayor now and runs a factory." It's like if the titanic people just boarded and then there's the iceberg in the next scene. (Still kinda miffed that the book that was written years earlier that had almost the exact same hype, build and mishaps happen as the titanic just kinda gets sneezed in there as well then turns into a big lipped alligator moment and never mentioned again when the similarities are so eerily similar that the writer could almost be a psychic future predictor, but I digress.
oh boy. charlie, the next review after this review is one review to a movie i absolutely 100% universally despised/hated for ALL FRICKIN' TIME: M. NIGHT SHYAMALAN'S THE LAST AIRBENDER MOVIE. out of ALL the movies i listed or said/wrote before in previous reaction vids, i considered THE LAST AIRBENDER movie the number one universally HATED movie ever on my list, not only as a HUGE fan of the show 'Avatar: The Last Airbender', but as a reactionary critic of it. yeah, i absolutely frickin' hate it THAT much.
I've heard of it before, but unfortunately, I have never read the books, or watched the movies, I never did any school play on it, or anything like this, it's a shame, I'm very familier with don quixote, man of la mancha, movies, and books, stage plays, that would have been great as it's one of my favorites, oh well, 😌
I'd totally like to see Bruce Willis in this movie, just for shits and giggles, he was in Hudson Hawk, which had singing moments, like swinging on a star, 😂👌

25:39 His name is Eddie Redmayne, by the way.
Yeah, Thanks, It was like a splinter in my mind, Eddie Redmayne, I mostly know him from the movie, The Theory of Everything. ^_^
@@MynameisCharlie Yeah. I just saw him in the first Fantastic Beasts film and this film.

Wakko: I'm Wakko!
Javert: And I'm Javert!
Dot: Shoot!
Director: Cut!
(Wakko laughs)
The Last Airbender one of his greatest reviews is almost here. I can't wait!
Oh yeah, It was a real blessing: ua-cam.com/video/EebUTqBPFt4/v-deo.html
the headphones is part of Paw's schtick. he does musical reviews and wears the headset to drive the point
This was my first time being introducted to him, so we have something in common, I wear a headset 24/7 😋👌
12:20 Yeah, she did. Even Jackman was nominated.
I thought as much, ^_^
"Its like French" that's because it is....
Yes, that is Linkara (AT4W). I highly recommend reacting to his whole series in the future. It is very funny.
And toddintheshadows
The actor your thinking is Eddie Redmayne

Who's your favorite singer?
A:Nostalgia Critic
B:Flawless
You've seen the critics other musical reviews, so i don't know why this was such a shock that there was singing in this 😂
i like this movie fine. i even sing (as a bass singer) in my high school concert of Les Miserables.

Ah, Fiddler on the Roof, a classic, one of my favorites, Man of La Mancha is another classic, ^_^
Protect me Dr. Pepper~ Charlie 2020 😂😂
It's always gotten me through the best of times, and the worst of times, ^_^
The guy is from fantastic beasts movie
"Hooo." 😮

Well, you are a killjoy for not enjoying the singing in this review.
But it's even funnier this way. Let's start recommending him musicals!!
@@DarthRushy If he reaches the WALL review. Cross our fingers its going to be a mess.
You have a cool voice
I love how they all ended up hating Nostalgia Critic, the bastards
I thought the title was Less Miserable
Nah, Just good old fashioned, Les Misérables, 😋
charlie, it's pronounced 'LEI MIZ-ER-ROB'. and yeah, it's a very popular musical broadway show.
I've heard of it before, but unfortunately, I have never read the books, or watched the movies, I never did any school play on it, or anything like this, it's a shame,

I care. I like musicals and operas. To each their own.
Did you call the music in this review evil? How dare you!
I generally like this movie. I do wish they would have cast better singers for Jean Valjean and Javert.
I'd totally like to see Bruce Willis in this movie, just for shits and giggles, he was in Hudson Hawk, which had singing moments, like swinging on a star, 😂👌
Well this guy would not like the staged musical either it looks like.
The Nostalgia Critic do a crossover with Blockbuster buster they review Transformer 4 that review is awsome you should see the video for yourself
he'll do it when he gets to it
@@alicedelgado955 sure i respect him
i vastly prefer the non-musical version of this movie with Liam Neeson and Geoffrey Rush
Yes, I liked that movie a lot more, especially Geoffrey Rush's death scene, in my eyes he totally redeemed himself. Russell Crowe just seemed silly.
don't pronounce the s in les and pronounce the b l e s as bless
I was supposed to watch this movie junior year in high school for an assignment but I never ended up watching it and probably glad I didn’t
