I probably made this because I keep forgetting event cards... The game is releasing today, click this link to check it on Steam: bit.ly/GamerZakh_SoliumInfernum Thank you! And thanks to League of Geeks for sponsoring.
they should make VTM game out of this system.. its perfect! imagine taking over a city by playing as one of the vampire factions in the world of darkness setting.. come on!
A tip, never forget when a troop is attacked it can get a bonus from adjacentstronghold or other troop.
This was an excellent overview guide and very helpful. The gameplay looks so unique and I like the focus on subterfuge. I can't wait to play this game!
Thanks! Yeah the main thing with this game is that there's just so many ways you can play. If you go full on into deceit and trickery, there's so much to do just in that. I barely touched it in my gameplay video because it's less my style.
Should be called Beginner Tips and Tricks though
One aspect you didn't mention which are also useful, but a bit hidden, are Schemes. Schemes are mini-objectives that can give you a big whack of Prestige (points) when you complete them. You can start Schemes in your Sanctum, by clicking the "Create Scheme" button on the right.
The reason I say that Schemes are useful is because you can use the Prestige you get to increase your Rank early, which gets you access to more Tribute when seeking Tribute, more diplomatic options, more votes when the Council is voting on something, etc. As you said, earlier is better in Solium, so increasing Rank early is very strong.
Yeah those aren't as obvious too but they are covered by the tutorial, so figured I'd stick to other points.
You forgot to mention that should you level a power to level 4, you always get a new order slot until youvhit the cap of 5 or 6. This with a relic granting a boost of your Archfiend's core power, you can rush level four fast if you know what resources you need.
3 orders by turn 4 is insane
thanks for the videos!
I never realised you can drag to reorder, that makes it so much better :o
I always canceled bids and consoladations I already made just to get the Tribute into the first slot x]
Glad I could help! I was doing the same thing for a while when I started.
Game is great! Would be keen to see faction guides.
Damn, I've played the old game, I've played the new game, some of these things were new to me! The first order getting more resources was a surprise.
Great video!
Thanks! There really are just so many little things to know about this game, it's hard to know everything.
I honestly didn't know about this game. It looks quite interesting, thanks for the video. I wish it was on gog though but it looks interesting enough that I'll probably get it on steam.
Yeah not really anything else like this right now, there's so much you can do in it that games are always unexpected. Glad you enjoyed it!
A pretty good overview. I am confused though your the second content creator to say this. LOL
Rank is tribute amount, votes, and better diplo action.
Any Power at level 4 is a extra order slot and your tribute quality "the value for each token when seeking tribute" is whatever the highest stat is. So you get orders from power not rank.
Here a few more pointers:
Hit tab in-game to open up your notebook. Very important.
If you have enough prestige to rank up and a event or insult targets your prestige that turn, more often then not it worth ranking up. You don't get negative prestige anymore. (thank god).
To add to your first point, pay attention on what is happening on the board. If a player has a advantage over the rest of you, it generally a good idea to work, temporally that is, together.
Don't over extent and capture cantons, hexes, with no purpose. A lot of new players seem to love to move a lot, but if you are all over the place and can't defend yourself then you are a easy target for vendettas.
Don't buy to many legions early. It good to have them, but you don't have enough orders to move them all generally in the early game. Though it can be good for a defensive play.
Thanks! I'm not sure what other content creators are doing, I just thought of all the things I wish I knew before I played. And yeah you can see the big text at 6:37 that I clarify that it's power level, not rank.
@@GamerZakh opps I missed that when watching lol
I think the healing by places of power was the most helpful. Also I was hoping units resurrecting would be explained. I was Belial and it says unit would come back 2 turns after dying but it never did. I wonder if I needed to click something.
I'm not sure if it's the same with Belial, but it might say that they return after 2 turns times their level, so if they're level 5 it takes 10 turns.
What I need help with as a new player is understanding the strength of the different options (diplomacy, rituals, gathering manuscripts, having strong units). There’s so much stuff that doesn’t fit the typical strategy mold
I believe it doesn't have a very well defined strategy metagame. All of those things you mentioned give you different advantages that may be useful at different points in the game. Making good use of all those options is probably key. That said, depending on the archfiend some strategies may be stronger. For example, Astaroth relies heavily on military prowess while Andromalius will focus more on manuscripts and praetor duels. Diplomacy is always essential regardless of archfiend
lol I thought the events happned at the end of the turn didnt know i had to play the cards... I was wondering why me legions were upgrading.
Right!? Me too for a long time, then after that I just kept forgetting to play them anyway because you don't see them until you open your Sanctum haha.
You: If you're just randomly making your moves against someone who is planning out step by step, you're gonna lose
Me who was getting outplayed by the AI in the tutorial due to it not teaching me everything I need or I just missed some details: Click here, see what happens, they died, ggs I'm confused.
So Nero try to controll over Hell...now
you know, i get that they needed to put some word out. ok. pay people to play games. i guess. but why is that the ONLY reviews im seeing on this game? marketing failure. company paid a bunch of low publicity youtubers to rep the game which didnt do much to put it out there and people like me dont have a reliable source to go to for information that HASNT been bought, and as a result i cant justify spending my money on it because at the end of the day, a paid promo is expected to be a glowing review whether its good or not and people like me will never put faith in them.
I'm going to ignore the extremely questionable way you use the English language. Your writing is beyond awful. That aside you comment this on a guide video, not even a review. The obvious answer is because it's a AA game made by a small studio with next to no marketing budget you arent going to see very much if any reviews or coverage from outlets. The reason you only see paid or sponsored reviews is because the only people doing them for a small title like this are people paid to. I understand your hesitation based in accepting the credibility of paid sponsors opinions but you are also insinuating some kind of foul play or conspiracy on the developers part which is baseless. I'm sure if you really wanted to know about the game you could watch a lets play or if you wait more than 12 hours from launch some independent sources will have something up. I have only a couple hours in the game and I can say it is interesting and probably worth the price. It doesn't have sprawling tech trees and complex city management. It is more about grand strategy and diplomacy. It has simplified alot of the mechanics of 4x games but not in a bad way.
I covered this game without being sponsored, here I listed it in this video, no sponsor: ua-cam.com/video/YDpGaYHjR5g/v-deo.html That video has about 80K views if exposure is relevant?
Oh I also played through a match last week without being paid: ua-cam.com/video/zvIDnvdwkKY/v-deo.html but they did give me early access with a preview code. That's just raw gameplay. Not sure what else you're wanting or expecting?
Maybe Google for what you want? Plenty of reviews out there.

Even Sports Illustrated reviewed it, I don't know what outlet you prefer: videogames.si.com/reviews/solium-infernum
There's also now about 50 unpaid user reviews on Steam. Does that cover what you're wanting?
I can’t make up my own mind, someone tell me what to do!

All four games I've played so far in Solium I've won by at least 100 Prestige over all the AIs being a Prince easily( got to 200 more then once) Never used anything but war and money. AI only tries to steal your money and bickers between themselves. Destruction Path is useless. Deceit is by far the most useful. As long as you don't let AI steal all your money, your fine. Schemes and stratagems have had marginal effects on me winning. I'm guessing online will be harder but not by much. Even won Excommunicated, Started rampaging all AI opponents, so they voted me back in and won. This game is fun but to easy it seams. Not enough content for now to be that good/hard. Only way to really be hard is if all the AIs stack against you early and they keep stealing your vaults. If your lucky enough to have the golden Budda PoP. then it help against deception spells. Most times by the end of turn 40 my armies tend to be able to take on the Random Mobs. With all 3 stats being 15+. Patience and forethought is what drives this game. Protect your Archfiend from having their power downgraded from random events and you should be ok. Having 4 or 5 Action slots is key to winning. Praetors are worth the money. Some give you tokens if they are placed in PoP. But you need to ask for tribute for them to work. If you plan right you'll be rich and have so much you'll laugh off demands and insults with no issues. What's losing 15 prestige when your 100 ahead of everyone. Schemes are a waist of time. Focus on demands and protecting yourself and your armies. Keep things simple. Hp first for your armies to protect them from spells. 6HP isn't that much.
Dude of course you stomp the ai in a game like this, it's a deceit and deep strategy game.
Hehehe go to multi and get ready to be stomped friend
@@NatanStarke 5 games in multi and still no difference.
“This game is too easy for me, multiplayer will be no different, I’m too good for this game, this game is boring because I’m so good”. lmao
