Stainless or Blued finish handguns? Which ones are better?

- This video compares some Blue finish handguns to their exact counterparts in Stainless finish. I tey to tell some advantages and disadvantages of each. the firearms used in this video as examples are as follows
Smith and Wesson 686 no dash
Smith and Wesson 586-4
Caspian 1911 in stainless
Colt Series 70 Gold Cup 1911
Sig Sauer P220 Elite Carry Stainless
Sig Sauer P220 in Black/Nickel
Colt Python 1984 in Bright Stainless
Colt Python 1970 in Royal Blue
If you're a COLLECTOR, blued guns are stunningly beautiful - especially the old Colt "Royal Blue."

I completely agree. If blue guns were as durable as stainless it woukd not even be a choice

Blue guns are very nice looking a d I do love them.
Blued finishes are so stunning, especially the quirky ones like the old Dan Wesson 15s.
Itnis hard not to like a blue finish. With that being said you are right, stainless is the way to go for a hard core shooter. If you can afford to have both then problem solved. If you can only have one, definitely stainless
I’m kind of partial to the blued finish, but I have several in SS and I love them as well. For carry I don’t really care because they are going to get scuffed up and I don’t mind a few blemishes.

Stainless is probably the more Durable finish but I think my next one is going to be Blued because I don't have one yet.
I don't like super shiny stuff so if Id get a Matte finish if I could.

Love the video. I like both. But I admit I use stainless when I’m in the woods. The gun may get wet, or I’m on other rough conditions and it’s just more tolerant of the abuse so to speak. Plus I hate seeing my blued guns get scratches.

I definitely prefer blued handguns. Parkerized and baked paint polymer coatings too. Three of the handguns in your stockpile are shooters that I have. Just no Colts cause when I was in the market for firearms Colt decided not to sell their products. So S&W got my business.

Can you do a video on how to properly fix a scratch on a stainless gun? I have a 4.25" python that I shoot the hell out of and carry. It's always going in and out of different types of holsters and has some scratches on it from use. Thanks

I had a stainless steel gun and a chrome gun. The issue I had was the light reflecting off of the gun, keeping me from finding the sites. I had to get rid of those guns, and now I have all black or blue Guns silver reflects light into my eyes, not worth it.

The polish on old blued arms are way better than anything today. As a collector's item are way better. They don't make things like they used to in terms of blueing
