“Alright, let’s get this over with. I’m missing lunch.” Words of wisdom from King Bob.
"Oh Finster my Finster how you torture me.."
"What an Idiot!"
"Thats the lamest thing I ever heard!"
Ok ok let's get this over with... I'm late for lunch
I love how TJ believed Spinelli from the start and never doubted her! 😊
I like how king bob tried to keep things fair. Sure, he was bossy and even went mad in one episode, but he was still fair in most other episodes
Gretchen deserves credit too. Despite being Spinelli's friend, she didn't at all allow her bias to effect her duty as a prosecutor.
@@midnalazuli793 She should have been corrupt and helped her friend. She's a good prosecutor but morally she's wrong
@@Fridge_Fiend
Well, we know Gretchen ISN'T corrupt, and that's why she helped ensure the witness had a fair trial.
Pharaoh Bob man
@@Fridge_Fiend
That's not her responsibility. In a proper trial; a prosecutor must relinquish all biases and pursue their role as a prosecutor. In Gretchen's case, she was forced to handle it and did so in the fairest way possible. She didn't prosecute Spinelli out of malice or discontent, but out of her duty and even apologized henceforth knowing if she had a choice; she'd not do it.
Morals in the court of law mean nothing since everyone's moral values may be stronger or weaker. What matters is justice, innocence, and guilt. Did Spinelli throw the rock? That is the trial's case and Spinelli's pride put her in harm's way of a punishment she wasn't guilty of.
"I picked up the rock. Then I realised it was too heavy so I found another one." AHAHA. That part was just too random! XD
lol yup
In the words of Mikey,
“When will you people learn? War is not a game! It’s not a game!!!
Tell that to all the war contractors who play this game to make billions of dollars.
I guess for Mikey games like call of duty plants vs zombies battle of neighbourville and other games like I think Mikey dose know that Gus and his family are about a war
@@mistresskixen6142 Recess was such a woke show. No wonder it was cancelled ugh.
@@M3TALG0DS Nothing woke about it was a normal show in a post racial time. Love it.

Ashley A: "What An Idiot!"
Digger Dave: "That's the lamest thing I've ever heard!"
Gets me everytime!!!! 😂😂😂😂😂
Lol
I remember having an obsession with this show.
I still do.
I come back to it every now and then. I still think it's really well written, and it's still one of my favorite animated shows that Disney has produced.
I wasn't involved with this show much as a kid (I'm a 90s kid), but watching it now is nostalgia.
Same, had a period when I was like 12 (this was in like 2017 btw) where I did nothing but watch and talk abt this show lol
Facts
8:23 "The truth? You can't handle the truth!" -A Few Good Men
"Even if it is just Randall, you don't throw a rock in a dirt clod war! It's just plain wrong!"
I kind of like how up in arms the Ashleys are about this. Randall may be the only person they actively dislike more than Spinelli, but the principle of the thing is what matters most. Despite their egos and (relative) shallowness, they seem to have a surprisingly well-developed sense of personal honor and justice. It's good to see characters with layers ^_^
The ashleys are an enigma honestly.
Ashleys: Thinks TJ & the gang are cool enough to tolerate.
Also them: *gives 5/10 to TJ in that other episode*
Really also them: *Helps them sometimes even and teams up with them*
I bet they did that cause they are jealous everyone likes him except Gordy.
The Ashley's dislike TV more than spinelli and dislike Randall above all.
To be fair, throwing a hard rock in a situation where you should only be throwing soft mud is pretty damn dangerous, especially for kids.
Randall "The Snitch" Weems lol
Hilarious 🤣
That hint of disdain when he said "The Snitch" was the icing on the cake.
The only thing recess was trying to do was prepare us for life. I love this show. The memories.
"When will you people learn? War is not a game! IT'S NOT A GAME!"
("I thought it was a game." "Yeah." "It's a FUN game!")
War is never an game unless Queen Victoria tells her grandchildren to play nicely
Saddest part is that all Randal ever wanted was a simple nice job or good work. A little recognition..
he does get cookies.
Well, that's the thing with snitches. Even authority doesn't truly respect them for doing it.
He could try not snitching on people.
Recognition for what? Snitching ?LOL
But Finster literally has told him good work b4.
8:40 that “up next: Sabrina” 🥹 so much nostalgia
If i was a character in the series, i would give Spinelli the honour of given Randall the swirly.
he did try to get her wrongfully accused after all.
If I was a character, I would suggest to crucify him on the jungle gym and make it so that everyone can throw dirt clogs at him >:)
Kranium Dranium you do know that crucifixion back then resulted in death via asphyxiation, exposure, and starvation right?
@@zooemperor3954 u know what I mean, tie him up in the jungle gym and throw stale winger dingers at him until the end of recess. Not literal crucifixion

If Randall had actually been hit by a rock the size of the one in his story, wouldn't his whole face get smashed?
He wouldn't cuz he stronk
He would be in a coma.
I miss Recess. This and Kids Next Door (KND) were a staple. So much better than the "stuff" they churn out these days!

"When will you people learn, war is not a game!"

Ashley: "What an idiot!" So true.
Randall is such a sad kid. But he deserves a swirly for wasting the court's time!
"you threw a dirt clod during a time out. she;s right, you are a worm." :)
I like the "A Few Good Men" reference.
Why haven't they learned that Randal is a complete liar? >_>
Because as the class snitch hes always honest to the teachers
But not until this episode he lies to the kids
Because they’re all idiots

Grew up watching this. Really takes me back. Now it helps me fall asleep
Lmao this show is so damn funny and dramatic
They even did a trial a punishment LMAO lol XD
This show has episodes that cracks me up this being one of them 😂😂
Damn I'm surprised he didn't get brain damage or died
I realize this was likely for effect or humor but anyone notice when Randal is telling what happened he paints himself as a hero or something As usual.i was fighting the whole thing myself Like the other kids were there and should of known than ge was lying Also the part of Spineli giving up to Randal like that should seem like ninsense as well I mean usually Randal is kind of afraid of her
Sad thing is Adults in general seem to be as bad as the kids here were beliving what is said without questioning it not thinking if it make sense
Wtf is gretchens problem? She was totally biased and accused spinelli of doing it, even tho there's no evidence and spinelli was actally innocent...
CyberCitizen she also referred to Randall as, "my client", she's a prosecutor not a lawyer! Lolol. Good episode though
She was pressured by the students i think
@Mark Lynn thx
She might have gotten drunk with power and went over the top
totalba69 prosecutors are lawyers.
"This violent and ill-tempered girl- sorry, Spinelli- is GUILTY GUILTY GUILTY!"
Hilarious. XD
Wait, but TJ is right -- since being Spinelli's friend creates a conflict of interest, shouldn't Gretchen recuse herself from the trial?
She was chosen for her ability to be impartial and prosecute fairly
King Bob's word is King Bob's word. So shall it be written, so shall it be done 🤷♀️

When I first saw this episode, I'd never heard of a "swirly", but that image of Spinelli with the spirals in her eyes and that flushing sound made me instantly go "ah, got it, they're gonna flush her head down the toilet!" God I love this show! Stuff like that has always stayed with me.
Who were the adults behind these smart children shows? These were so great!
Randall: And I would have gotten away with it too, if it weren't for Spinelli and her loser friends. 9:23
"The truth?,YOU CANT HANDLE THE TRUTH!!"

King Bob: You hit Spinelli during a time out! She was right you are a worm.
HA HA XD LOL!
Madness... MADNESS !
Randall tells the story as if he was Rocky Balboa....🤣🤣🤣🤣
I'm definitely making my kids watch recess
Then they're gonna get addicted
Randall holds a grudge against Spinelli because she gets to be thanked and he doesn’t, so he gets revenge on her by setting her up.
Kid version of Law and Order. The younger criminals in schools must have criminal records.
DisneyPlus must have a show that had juvenile delinquents who committed crimes like Vandalism Graffiti Pulling Pranks.
Children have anger management issues.
They were mad at their parents for reasons.
Some adults are strict.
Some adults are nice.
It's because she did it out of the kindness of her heart while Randall just does it for cookies
Randal knew he was screwed the moment Spenelli mentioned Ms. Finster. She has no reason to lie and say Spinelli's story about the cat is false.

Spinelli isn't brave enough to say that she helped a cat...weakling
Erik Palomera She’s a tough girl, what do you expect? She doesn’t want to seem soft.

Goes to show you, it doesn't pay to be a snitch 😂😂🤣
1:12 what would the Ashley's know about dirt clod wars
When the chips are down, you can't rely on Mikey to be a good friend. Traitor.
Gretchen a snake too
He guilttripped everyone into going to a retirement home
Gus was bearly in this episode
I dont really like Mikey that much.
Tiny bump on Randall's head = rock the size of a basketball. Yup, makes TOTAL sense. XD
Randall reminds me of Nevel Papperman
Objection, your honor! The plaintiff's testimony is extremely exaggerated.
"WAR IS NOT A GAME! NOT A GAME!!!!"
The moment Randall started talking suggesting “He was the only one” during the dirt war, everyone should’ve knew it was BS lol
The representation of the imaginary world in the playground is quite accurate. Such a beautiful representation of the stories we made up when we were playing in every school.
"Truth....You can't handle the truth..". Randall pulled a "A Few Good Men".
Awesome scene..
They say Randall keeps running to till this day, desperately trying to avoid the dreaded swirly.
I am so happy that recess that on youtube
Why do they have trouble believing Spineli would save a Kitten but believe Randal is a buff action hero who Spineli is terrified of. I swear these kids deserve to be ruled and tormented by the most vicious tyrant ever.
They don't believe Randall is a buff action hero that's how Randall sees himself lmao 😂😂😂
Randall fighting single handed seriously!
Give Randall the swirly! 9:35
Not just for self harming himself with a rock but for lying under oath 😂
Randall: It was me Austin it was me along Austin
Perfect 🤣🤣🤣 I’m putting Gretchen as JR “Aw SOB”

I am very glad I got experience many of these from kindergarten to 6th grade. It would always go down right after the city workers would fertilize the fields and grass. The wall ball/ Hand ball courts were the trenches. They were also sometimes dry and hard af.

Why exactly are the gang walking down the street outside of the school grounds at the end of the episode, but Randall and the other kids are still within the school? It doesn't seem like the end of school, there's no recess before home time....
Recess happens like 3x a day, in the morning, after lunch, and after school.
Always nice to see a cartoon paying homage to Rashomon.
9:56 Behind Gretchen the barbed wire is there. At 9:57 it diappeared. This show has so many mistakes but I love it lol.

What a snitch he was!
After all these years, I still feel that Randall got off easy, and should’ve gotten worse than a Swirly.
So true, not only did he lie, but he also threw a dirt clog during a timeout.
Surprised that Gretchen didn’t recuse herself lol
lokpikr999 - she tried to, but Bob overruled her.
I can’t stop thinking about the swirly. Which to those who don’t know, a swirly is where a person’s head force down a toilet and flush.
That’s probably the worst thing to do to a person to shame, not to be mention it’s extremely unhygienic.
yea gross! you'd better wash your hair right afterwards! on another note i recall Hey Arnold mentioning swirlies
