Just for a couple of seconds I felt like I was listening to Dolores O'Riordan, The Cranberries's vocalist, right on 3:38-39. You're a wonderful and nice teacher, my friend. Thank you and congratulations!!!!!!!!
Hey Jen thanks so much! I'm an old guy just starting on guitar but have been playing the piano for decades. Also a full-time piano tuner for 30 years. My 14 yo and I are teaching each other drums and guitar and are doing a lot of experimental recording on Audacity. We're big Coldplay fans. Your teaching methods are very easy and welcome. Thanks to you I can now play Yellow and Clocks, though the barre chords are daunting. My wrists aren't very flexible, but I'll keep trying! Many thanks again!
@tnatof97 That is a capo, and it is required to play certain songs if you want to play in the correct key of the recording. Basically, it barres the fret, raising eveything up in pitch without having to detune anything. Very helpful little mechanism!
Awesome keep on shelling out those videos your really turning a music lover like me into a musician like I always wanted to be. And a big shout out to all my fellow devil dogs who like this video and who are still in and overseas and trying to learn guitar yutttt
thank you thank you thank you!!! you just helped me learn my favorite song by my favorite band, thank you, God bless you!!!!!!! have a GREAT LIFE THANK YOU SO MUCH YOU HAVE NO IDEA HOW MUCH THIS MEANS TO ME!
Jen, Jen, Jen, Jen, Jen, Jen, please please please can you do a lesson on how to play Loverboy by you me at six, they have an acoustic version and ive been looking for a video how to play it and i cant find anything, i love this song, you are my only hope!!!!!! :)
Great video and explanation. I learned most of the song in about two minutes. But there is one part that I didn't see demonstrated. I know most of the bridge is F-C-G but right before the main progression starts again, there is two notes that are played that sounds different than the rest of the bridge. What are those notes that are played at the very end of the bridge?
Hi Jen, I've found that playing the F chord with the high E string open or alternately with the pinky on it making the E a G (I guess is an Fadd9?) sounds good too since it's reflected in the melody line, and it's easier to play than a straight F chord. What do you think?
It helped really much! But do i have to use that thing you have one strings? I will play this song at school but we dont have that thing... sorry for spelling errors!
great video, really great, but my acoustic guitar sounds nothing like this. idk if it needs to be tuned or if my squier just isnt capable of making good music.
@TheOfficialMG you just strum it. I don't think you need to strum all the strings at once, just the strings associated with that note. Say for the D, you would mainly strum the bottom three strings. Meanwhile for E minor, you might mainly strum the top 4. Hopefully that makes sense. People with more training could probably explain it better.
Girl, you are awesome, I like your personality.
me too
me three
Hmmm

Hi
I learned this song on Piano awhile back. I got an Acoustic Guitar for Christmas this year, and I wanted to learn how to play this on it. Thank you!
can play this at parties? been there, done that, and still do. a few beers and well, this is the first song out of my guitar, ha ha ha
I like teachers that are interactive, they converse a little instead of just feeding you the lesson.
