I have been looking for the Best Bonham player in the world for 37 years - and I met George 3 years ago, he came by my studio and WOW - in person; his sound is GIGANTIC - and when he plays your drums; humble is the overwhelming feeling. Thank you George for being you.
It's basically a walk through a dozen different drumming styles and techniques in one song. Bravo. Goes to show you being a great drummer isn't about speed but about openness and agility. Gotta love the blues, rock, rockabilly, honky tonk etc to master this song.
Thank you for getting this unblocked. I am so blown away by this. Absolutely fantastic performance, extremely motivating. I started listening to Zeppelin in college when their first album came out and you bring it all back. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
Heck yeah George your an awesome drummer. It's like your channeling John Bonham. Thank you for your videos. Your amazing for sharing Bonham and all your excellent talent with us Bonham fans !
Holy sh*t - your left hand is just nuts in the “cover” section! Love what you’re doing in your videos - thank you! Can’t wait to see you again IRL here in Chicago after all this craziness. Be safe.
I always play guitar to these videos it's so fun especially when the timing of the drums Bonham/George and the guitar myself/Page you can feel it's like magic I hope others have done it and felt the same
Am I crazy or is this tempo a LOT faster than the original version?! And, by the way, of all the drummers on UA-cam, I love watching you the most. Love your chops and the way your drums sound.
I have got to say that you opened up my mind that like you wouldn't believe!!! You're a brother that ALLLLLLL OF US admires your talents !!! If you don't mind me asking how long have you been playing and studying ZEPPELIN??? THANKS for being so generous with your KNOWLEDGE!!! THANKS BROTHER DRUMMER!!!
@BONHAMOLOGY I am 56 too and I started when I was 12. I knew that when I heard BONZO"S KICK HIS BASS DRUM that was it for me!!! IAM sure you did the same thing!!! Fact of the matter all of the band was WHAT IS AND THEY ARE A LEGEND!!! PAST PRESENT AND FUTURE!!! GOD BLESS YOU!!! ZEPPELIN MAKES OUR LIVES SPIRITUAL MENTAL and PHYSICAL!!! THANKS BROTHER DRUMMER!!!
Thanks. That was factory installed, and unfortunately I didn't know they were going to put it there. I assumed it would go where they used to put them. I don't really like it in that location
That's hello Mary Lou which was on the original release, but on the reissue Jimmy decided he didn't want to deal with the royalties....I assume, so it was omitted.
Actually that's fairly simple but you got to do it quickly! Lol it's fast triplets with the downbeats alternating crashes left and right. I did a breakdown of that same thing in a video for Sick Again
Thanks for including Mary Lou, George.
I had to! 😁
I'm glade they unblocked this. I don't think anybody alive could play Bonham exact on every note like you can George.
thanks Steven
The touch/control with the feet during the solo shouldn't be overlooked here, damn!
You are not a drummer, you are a great musician
George...you are truly amazing. You've managed to capture every nuance of the Great John Bonham...wow 🥁👏👏👏
Thanks!!
It's fantastic George, I don't know how you do it with memorizing those parts, awesome!
Me neither, just repeated listening!!
@@BONHAMOLOGY I’ve stopped being surprised though still in awe. George has raised the bar of expectation.

So Good George, So Good.
What a work horse he was.

George, you need to do an instructional video on the snare roll cymbal fill at around 3:30
Bonham could learn from you
people gotta share this link holy shit

Hey James, I've been playing for about 50 years, I';m 56. I got into Zep when I was about 12.
@BONHAMOLOGY I am 56 too and I started when I was 12. I knew that when I heard BONZO"S KICK HIS BASS DRUM that was it for me!!! IAM sure you did the same thing!!! great! nicely mounted tom. seems so unstable w just a snare stand for the small tom.
19:52 GONG HITS!!!
Did you set up your snare specifically for the HTTW sound? Sounds like a good match!
Not really, but I did try to EQ it a little closer to that recording with my limited skills. 😄
21:35 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Multiple!!!! 🤣
Who installed the cymbal mount? This cover kills❗️
Thanks. That was factory installed, and unfortunately I didn't know they were going to put it there. I assumed it would go where they used to put them. I don't really like it in that location
Where did that extra section after "lets have a party" come from? Not on the record. Is this an unedited version?
That's hello Mary Lou which was on the original release, but on the reissue Jimmy decided he didn't want to deal with the royalties....I assume, so it was omitted.
@@BONHAMOLOGY yes I'm so glad that's included here! Also glad I have the original version because it's killer!
21:07
Sir. George exact model of this ride?
It's a black label vintage Giant Beat, prob from about 1972. Pre serial.
Man, I think it would be ok if you took a bow at the end of these.
I actually did on this one but then I just cut it off at the end. LOL
@@BONHAMOLOGY "WHOLE LOTTA LOVE /HTWWW VERSION / DRUM COVER-RE-UPLOAD" coming!
BTW, in case it's not clear, I was implying that you should put the bow back in....just being a goof
George any chance if you can break down 3:31?🙏🏼🥇
Actually that's fairly simple but you got to do it quickly! Lol it's fast triplets with the downbeats alternating crashes left and right. I did a breakdown of that same thing in a video for Sick Again
@@BONHAMOLOGY Thank you George, I appreciate it so much. You are the best! 🥁👑🎖️🥇
Does anyone know what show this is from?
I believe it's from June 25 1972 at the LA Forum
Personally you have way more feeling and flow than John Bonham.
