So nice to see an actual cinematographer on here. Also I enjoy all the effort you put in to making your videos. Also cute cat. First time in a long time I ain't skip thru a YT video.
Deon - Its absolutely unprecedented for anyone to be parting knowledge with this many visual references, especially coming from shoots of this size. A huge insight for any DP working in the film and commercial space. Thank you for so generously sharing. Subscribed!
This is great stuff man, thank you for sharing you experiences, its hard to find people of your skill sharing this kind of information and I really appreciate it.
As you mentioned Deon , the are a lot of content about Aputure light but it’s difficult to find good breakdowns of high level commercial, you a doing enormous job by sharing your knowledge with others DOP’s , thank you for that opportunity 🙏🏻 best regards from Ukraine 🙏🏻
I loved this, and I learned so much. Thank you for sharing your knowledge with us, I wanted to ask how did you move from Procreate to Blender? or did you build the 3d model from scratch? Thanks again Deon, Keep up the amazing work!
Amazing video, and beautiful top notch work as always. How long would you say it took you to get to a point where you could create a set and light it in blender? I’ve done the donut tutorial but that’s about it.
I did the first 20 or so lessons of a course called 'Complete Blender Creator: Learn 3D Modelling for Beginners' on Udemy then got bored and stopped. haha. I started using it as soon as I started learning it, at first, mostly to get a sense of scale which is very useful in collaborating with production designers. I just experiment/play with lighting as I go along and will search youtube when I run into something I don't know how to do. There are a couple of courses I have been meaning to do but feeling like I might be better off investing that time in UE5. I gave set.a.light a crack but it feels too limited and I find the navigation quite frustrating.

Thanks again Deon, Keep up the amazing work!
I made the 3D model in Blender first.
I didn't model any of the assets though!
