That freezing in place is the weirdest thing I've ever seen a president do.
It happens to people with cognitive illness. Mu mom had Alzheimers and towards the end she would freeze. Its a horrible thing to witness. Obama seems to be taking care of Joe.

I've cared for 3 dementia patients in recent years and all of them had freeze moments. I worked in nursing homes in the 80's...same thing there.

I appreciate somebody who not only sees the big picture but sometimes it is the little things like tape on the floor that might be the real story.
Though I'm no fan of Biden, that kind of tape is fairly common in stage setups. Having worked in theater, the backstage can actually be a very dangerous place and you'll find markings not dissimilar from these all over the place, especially if there are elements that may be dropped in from the fly area. Trust me, you don't want a curtain to fall on you.

I worked as an in home care giver companion for an old, overeducated, former successful rich demented lady wirh altzheimers, and she did exactly this. Frozen, staring, wandering off, and more.
