nero has been my fav band since i discovered them in 2011 (i think) but i come across this gem today only after an instagram post. what a masterclass again from them
@BumGravy69 i been loving dnb for along time, but the song that pushed it into the realms of obsession was 'tear you down' by the brookes brothers. absolutely love that song man, its amazing
This is what it sounds like when i take a crap, so much anticipation, clouds part, the sun peaks through, Angels singing and then BOOOOOM BLUB BLUB BLUB
@EpicGamer92 whole heartedly agree, although Nero is actually a duo. I think they attended a premier music school, maybe Juilliard, but I'm not sure of that.
why are people arguing about what is proper to put in a comment, and what is the right comment... and who knows best... coment to tell others what you think is great about this track... tell other experiences! because this track is great ! and the artist deserves respect !
My knowlage of Dubstep is this. Dubstep is a form of many genre's, and cultures. Regge, Dub, Drum and bass, Techno, Grime and Garage. It's slow kick and snare, is from the Garage side, with the dirty synth and bass from the drum and bass side. If anyone wants to see what dubstep used to be back in the late 90's early 2000's, then look for Joe Nice, he's got some sick mix's of real old school stuff
This is what it sounds like when i take a crap, so much anticipation clouds part, the sun peaks through, Angels singing and then BOOOOOM BLUB BLUB BLUB
It's called Dubstep if the BPM is around between 130-140 (BPM = Beats Per Minute) Drum 'n' Bass is at 170-180 (Though, it used to be from 160-180) Drumstep has the same BPM as Drum 'n' Bass, however the setup of the beat is that of dubstep (The placement/timing of the snare and kick) Electronica (which SOME people call Electro) is just the overname (or archive-name, which'ever word pleases you) for the genres that is made with electronic devices (this includes House, DnB, Dubstep, etc.) :3
@alexvdhooft One fateful day, there was a boy... Little did this boy had the power within him to create waves of sound which people would one day praise him for in the future. At the moment of his birth, a bolt of lightning struck his parents... killing them. The boy grew up an orphan, calling himself Nero and creating sick beats until one day he would find the perfect beat. Until that day, he works tirelessly until he can create a tune to take over the world... And so it begins....
@Kryteriadnb It's set by the drums and also like you stated BPM. You can have an electro song with 170-175 bpm but the beat that will not make it DnB. Drum n Bass is jungle drumming set to 170-175 bpm but I've also seen jungle drumming and done jungle drumming at 140-145 bpms. We use metronomes to time ourselves.
@fezzin1992 Dubstep has roots in dub, reggae, DnB, 2step, garage, hiphop and even more genres. all tracks include some of them but no tracks include all of them. the thing that makes it clear if it's dubstep or not is that it either has a two-step beat or a halfstep beat.
in my opinion its a simple mix between DnB and Dubstep, because it obviously has a DnB beat, but it definately has Dubstep a bassline. So its Dnbstep, you guys can think of some creative name for it, but end of descussion, its a mix.
@fezzin1992 it started off as remixes of garage tracks and took the 2 step and halved it to make it half step. it also took inspiriation from jamaican dub such as the bass and lack of vocals. hence DUB-STEP
This song is my morning alarm. Every time I hear it, Im gonna wake up cause It always sounds like god talkin to me. But then I remember i recorded gods voice on my mp4 and its not the world end yet.
i hate when people argue about the genre but i get sick of people telling those people to shut up and enjoy the music there's haters and a comment section for a reason that reason being that we are not ants nuff said.
music is music, as soon as you start sticking labels on things, you end up not appreciating something simply because of the way its been branded- why not have a listen first? that usually helps
@rossidnb without drum & bass there would be no dubstep, without jungle there would be no drum & bass, without reggae there would be no jungle.. the list goes on and on People need to appreciate and feel music and not just listen to the newest coolest thing! drum & bass until the day I die!!
Yeah everything you said is correct. My reply was regarding him saying dubstep has been around since the 90's. I know very well the genre's dubstep originated out of (many of which were big in the 90's) but to say it has been around since the 90's is false.
Horsepower Productions did release Dubstep in early 2000's but there first Dubstep LP was 2002 not 2004! But they were originators just progressing the Dubstep that had been about before then, Dubstep was the darker side of drum and bass mixed with the garage 2 step, Just because the "official" term/name was about since early 2000's doesn't mean the music itself wasn't from before then.
To this day, when someone tells me DnB is not melodic, I come back to this masterpiece and watch as their jaw drops
first rule of drum and bass is: no melodies allowed here. : P
2022 and still playing this. Always remember this track, it was my first introduction to ‘DnB’ as I knew it then. What a banger man!
literally this song got me so into the genre.. high tempo drums i reckon.. cuz high tempo jungle is probs one of my fav styles now :D
Wow long time I wrote this! Very nice to see people still into this
The greatest tune they ever did.. Epic! The greatest tune ever released on Formation.
Damn, all these years later this suddenly popped into my head. Glad to hear it again :)
Listening on the daily in lockdown 2020!
2021 :) greetings from Poland
yea its a common theme across jump-up, darkstep, hardstep, etc. (pretty much any dnb thats non-jungle)
for all heads out there------- nero is a dubstep and drum and bass producer.
chill and listen to this fucking nice song
Please Nero make your newer tunes like this!
all their older drum & bass tunes absolutely killed it !
nero has been my fav band since i discovered them in 2011 (i think) but i come across this gem today only after an instagram post. what a masterclass again from them
Songs that are old 5 or even more years talk so much through the melodies and stuff. Today it's hard to find something really good
there were the three basic elements, fire, water, earth, then came dubstep, it produced enough energy to make life
This is my absolute favourite song ever.. thanks so much for posting it! :)
I just signed in to let you know that you have some SERIOUS talent man! THIS TUNE IS BANGING!
@magenbroti word out brother, music is too amazing to have petty nit picks over each other, im just happy people are finding this shit and liking it.
@BumGravy69 i been loving dnb for along time, but the song that pushed it into the realms of obsession was 'tear you down' by the brookes brothers. absolutely love that song man, its amazing
nero has seriously made sum bangers, this is a personal favourite, is the album EP on CD anywere?
havent heard sumthing this refreshing in a long time . from start to finish a master piece
This is what it sounds like when i take a crap, so much anticipation, clouds part, the sun peaks through, Angels singing and then BOOOOOM BLUB BLUB BLUB
And just like that ladies and gentleman they are BACK.
@EpicGamer92 whole heartedly agree, although Nero is actually a duo. I think they attended a premier music school, maybe Juilliard, but I'm not sure of that.
This my friend, is what youtube was like a time ago
and when nero was incredible
why are people arguing about what is proper to put in a comment, and what is the right comment... and who knows best...
coment to tell others what you think is great about this track...
tell other experiences!
because this track is great !
and the artist deserves respect !
What an absolute belter. Nero at their finest.
Sick tune
Nero is one of the best dnb producers
dubstep is what ever you want it to be because dubstep makes you fell good thats just how it is
Remember hearing this track from its conception. Still a masterpiece.
YUMMY. Havnt listened to that for like....years. what a banger it is.
Man I love this. It's one of the first real damn good Dnb tunes I heard when I discovered dnb.

Two minutes and a half were worth the wait.
@buddthumper Reso, Noah D, and the man himself Nero.... your right, all those guys have put out good dubstep but also do some freaking filthy good dnb
for the record, it's breakbeat/dnb, whatever you wanna call it. Point is, it's fucking awesome.
Wow! I needed this.
the power it gives just damn amazing.
@lZeroCookiesl DUM DUM TA DIDDY DIDDY DUM TA!!!
Love your description of drums. ;)
@Vampero88 one short paragraph would have sufficed but atleast now we no your the professor of dubstep
I HAD NERO - ELECTRON AND REQUIEM PLAAYING AT THE SAME TIME IT SOUNDS SO GOOD
old legend DnB!
AND THUS THE GENRE OF " DRUM N' " WAS BORN!!!!!
this one outta go down in history. as steely said.. EPIKK
@alexvdhooft

Its DnB with a few dubstep elements thrown in. I like it

who cares what genre it is... it sounds incredible
I've heard only dubstep by Nero. Didn't know they make so good DnB.
in my opinion its a simple mix between DnB and Dubstep, because it obviously has a DnB beat, but it definately has Dubstep a bassline. So its Dnbstep, you guys can think of some creative name for it, but end of descussion, its a mix.
This is some EPICCCCCCCCCCC SHIT
This really makes u wanna go bonkers cause for thats what D'n'B should at times.
@neopathic dubstep.fm for those who dont know, get a clue, like this guy, he knows whats up
wicked tune, just the right mix of jazzy d&b and hard
I could care less how anyone classifies this, it is amazing music! Just enjoy it and try not to file it anywhere. Accept it for the music that it is!
Loving this dubstep. Thanks for uploading. *wink wink
This is one of my favorite Nero songs... It's such a pity they're not that well known :/
Awesome memories to this track
Epicness has just entered my ears
@fezzin1992 it started off as remixes of garage tracks and took the 2 step and halved it to make it half step. it also took inspiriation from jamaican dub such as the bass and lack of vocals. hence DUB-STEP
@fezzin1992 It takes a lot from certain DnB artists as well. Particulalry one of the most characteristic aspects of dubstep, the wobble.
OMG BEST DUBSTEP SONG EVER
all other dubstep is too slow!!!! can dance to this !!
from biggest nero dubstep fan!!!!!
2008?! Nero have been going longer than you'd think
definatly drum and bass!! :D xx love it!! :P
It's all about the BPM for me. the higher the better. keep telling em burnout. pissed us "fan's" off.
So beautiful...
I am the same guy. . . and what ever man nothing even worth being a keyboard warrior over, just love the music and get on with life
This song is my morning alarm. Every time I hear it, Im gonna wake up cause It always sounds like god talkin to me. But then I remember i recorded gods voice on my mp4 and its not the world end yet.
still coming back
beastly
♥
The whole EP is nice. You can clearly hear his melodic vocal style before he made it big in dubstep :D
i hate when people argue about the genre but i get sick of people telling those people to shut up and enjoy the music there's haters and a comment section for a reason that reason being that we are not ants nuff said.
music is music, as soon as you start sticking labels on things, you end up not appreciating something simply because of the way its been branded- why not have a listen first? that usually helps
Nero = Best dubstep... Chase and status = Best D'n'B
love this track, love nero they are bringin it at the momment
god called he wants his bamf-ing epic-beat back. I love this track to bits big ups to Nero!
@fezzin1992 Actually Dubstep was created as a slower version of Breakbeat which is similar to 2step
Its going on my DNB playlist don't worry...
dubstep was formed from the genre "dub," best described as very slow regge with bass. DnB and Dubstep, and the hybrid Drumstep, are all bass music.
because this is Drum & Bass (specifically Liquid Funk)
Glad to have cleared things up :)
was gunna say ekajnin it was sounding very dub run until it kicked in at 2;35
massive tune, haven't heard him drop this before which is a shame!
who cares what people think it is. Its just great music to my ears.
BEST INTRO EVER....and after 2:45 it gets very unsuitable..if that s the right word
@rossidnb don't forget that it's half time. it also came from some 2-step garage stufff.
@rossidnb
without drum & bass there would be no dubstep, without jungle there would be no drum & bass, without reggae there would be no jungle.. the list goes on and on
People need to appreciate and feel music and not just listen to the newest coolest thing!
drum & bass until the day I die!!
An example of Half Timed DnB is the drum beat in this songs intro.
This track is such a beast, it makes the beast of gevaudan look like an andrex puppy! nero is fucking inhuman.
dont care if its dubstep or not its bangin

Drums & base
oh what you did, i see it and its THERE!!!!!
Damn this is the NERO that I know and Love. It is a shame seeing them live now. :/
I dont what what the hell is but I fucking love this music and this band.
@FraserJ90
Mine was Return of Forever-high Contrast or 1up by Spor - had it blasting in the car full volume and mad high bass!
such a good dubstep song
yeahhh good description change, NERO always feels more like trance/dnb than dubstep to me, thus why i like it bit more..
It's a bit of both and pretty sick:)
It really is quite funny to hear people complain about music.
OH LOOK MUSIC!! And i'm enjoying it too.
This sounds really uplifting!
ABSOLUTE TUNE!!! SOME KINDA GODLY SOUNDIN SHIT! :D
