This is definitely along the lines of how I want to camp whenever I finally have the time to start doing so.
You should do it now. Death awaits us at the finish line and we never know how long our individual race will be. Hopefully yours in long and steady. Get out there and do it now!

Like the man said" kicking back in lounge wear" after outside kennel chores are done and back inside to shed the damp clothes off and watch a Lonewolf vid. Doesn't get any better then this. Just went out with my SnugPak, T1 Ultra Stove, and and haventent XL with a MondoKing 3D pad. Soooooooooo warm. It was negative 15°F out side and 67°F in the Pomoly canvas tent!

My favorite part is always the smelling of the coffee beans, and the little nod afterwards. Far to familiar of a feeling, loving the videos and have learned a lot from ya so far! Hoping to scoop up my own hot tent, and wood stove to get out into the action!

I had relatives who were born in the early 1900's who never had electricity or indoor plumbing, by choice. One was my grandmother's brothers lived in a tent...all year round...year after year. The top half of his tent was cotton canvas. The bottom half of wooden planks, like they had had when he was in the army. He had a Franklin stove for both warmth and to cook his food. It had 2 burners and small oven. He made his own bread and cooked it in that oven. Back then, the ground froze 2"-6" deep, every winter in north Texas, where he lived. But his dirt floor never froze. He fished and hunted for his meat. He loved living there!

Live in Washington state, turn 65 in Jan, plan to spend 65 days hiking Appalachian Trail north bound, followed by next 2 yrs hiking 66 & 67 days to hopefully complete it...
Have thoughts of continuing into Canada my 68th...God willing...

I remember my Army days being sleeping in freezing tents and had to stand guard for like 2 hours outside the tent every night and everything else that I'm not going to get in to here but ok, after the Army days....................no thank you for ever again doing camping or tenting even in the summer time. I had my time. Now I stop at the Starbucks and get my coffee and sleep in my warm bed and live my life doing nothing and wow, I feel so good. You don't need to try to be ok, doing it all just to live life, find your whatever and that's it. It will end anyway and then we don't even know what we have been and done so ok life is what it is .

Very enjoyable video. Snow was so pretty on the trees & the glowing tent at night. The hot food your fixed looked so satisfying & warming for the cold weather. I also love camping & have done some in cold weather, but not with a hot tent. I have a Little Guy camper & camp in state parks. Merry Christmas & a Happy New Year!

Hello from Yakutia. Thanks for Tue video! It is interesting to see how to camping in winter in America. You have for sure a lot of modern equipment. We use more wood tools and fur for isolation. Also I didn’t know we can make coffee like that. Here we drink mostly tea and if we want coffee when camping it would be instant coffee:)
For the snow to melt and have water I would say don’t drink this water for more then 2 days as it doesn’t contain any minerals. Here we use it for wash ourselves or the dishes. And to drink we melt ice from rivers. All the best!

Great content! A bigger man than I. I really don't think I could camp in the snow.
You don't have to do it straight away. You can star camping in fall season, with lower temperatures and with time you'll get better camping gear. And in no time, you'll get use to the cold and you'll want to try it out in the snow.
Camping and coffee go hand in hand. I like the way you make it . When we cook coffee on open fire with percolator pot it takes about 45 minutes. The way you make it looks faster.
