It is and it’s hard to come up with good reasons why it is the way it is
I did not like the movie. I wish we had the most cliche monster high movies set in space or the wild wild west.
Just pretend or headcannon that the episode takes place after scarier reef.

The mythology of this movie was all over the place we got the daughter of a Greek god and the daughter of a Scandinavian mythical creature (whose also I believe supposed to be Indian-coded for some reason) in Australia
The fact they redid this whole movie, it's supposed to be a movie where lagoona gets her licence

And Designs would be Fresher and More Valued
