- The Grumman HU-16 Albatross was used by the Air Force, NAVY, and Coast Guard. It was also used in a number of civilian roles. Follow along as we watch it fly, and tour its exterior and interior.
This aircraft is often seen at EAA Airventure in Oshkosh Wisconsin.

What a beautifully fitted out interior. The owner has every right to be proud of her.
I like the albatross, not just because it is an improvement over it's predecessor, the Catalina, but because it uses the same engines, (albeit a newer version) with an improved air frame!
I like the Albatross too, but the Albatross bears NOTHING in common with the Catalina (except they can both float). Different manufacturer, engines, and ages apart in deployment.

I was a flight mechanic on the hu16 in the Philippines and Vietnam 1965_67 usaf arrs made a sea rescue of a navy pilot in Vietnam

Saw this aircraft (N99TP) land/take-off today in Okoboji, Iowa. Wondering if this is the same airframe as N98TP (also seen on youtube), with a new paint job and “N-Number?”
