Actually i disagree. I more like believe, its the human that gets slow, we start to achieve less in a slow pace. The things we could do in 1 day, we do it in 2. Hence time seems fast for us.
Yeah at 28 I already feel this haha. 19-23 felt WAYYY longer than 24-28, and 15-19 felt WAYYYY longer than 19-23. As a kid summer felt like it lasted forever, like an entire phase of your life, but at 28 summer feels like a blip thats too short to plan any kind of vacation around. I'm sure at 40 it's even more pronounced, and even more so at 90.
@@khalidbashir2037 That might explain the elderly, but it doesn't explain everyone else. At 28 time feels much faster than 20, and 20 felt much faster than 10. If anything i'm faster at most things at 28 than I was when I was younger, and for Casey this is probably the case too.
What I love about your videos: They come out of the blue, Right when I need them I never know what to expect They always make me smile And cry And laugh And love.

Thank you Casey....I turned 50 last November, and of late for the last few years I have been in depression. After watching this it made me realize that I have been focussing wrongfully on the past...what people said, what happened, where I went etc etc However as a child and teenager, I was so much happier because I focussed on the present and what that day had in stall for me. Time to readjust and focus on the present and let the past go!
Not really. There is a difference between time that passes to create days, months, and years; and the actual year which becomes part of our age. Time always seems longer when we are anticipating and waiting for something (which is what kids do) but as we grow older and appreciate being young and understand the complications of adulthood, time feels faster. So one year for a 30 years old person spenaidng travelling the world feels much faster than another 30 years old person spending it in a jail... Simple Fact 😉
Time always moves faster than before, doesn't matter if you are old or young. But when you are older you can compare the passing of time with how time passes now and you can osberve time moving fast. As a child you have nothing to compare to.
I remember my one of my first jobs, my boss was 52. I used to say, I will never be 52, I will never be like that. Well, now I am going to be 52. This video is so true!! Awesome.
I remember being a kid and having baby-sitters that were in their young 20's, thinking they were all grown up with families and owned their own house because 20 was old. Its funny being 28 and looking at myself and my friends seeing that very few have families and very few own homes, some of them still don't know what they want to do in life.

Source: Visited a retirement home one time.
@William Brown well said, that’s why I said in a lot of cases not all of them. However I still think that elderly “wisdom” is more like a story than advice, not so applicable in the modern world, I may be wrong but that’s just how I feel.

Love this one. I know it's important to focus on the 'NOW' but one take away for me in a way is that I feel like I tend to focus TOO much on the past and not enough on aspirations. I don't even know what my aspirations are. That's a problem I find. When I do that it tends to make it harder for me to focus on the NOW because without enough thinking about the future and making goals etc I end up feeling stuck and/or frustrated about where I am at. This had me in tears, I’ve been watching you since I was 15 years old I’m now going on 20. It’s just amazing all life has changed in my life but also how I’ve watched how it’s changed yours. I wish you & your family health & peace during this time
If my parents said we would do something “in two weeks” as a kid, I figured we might as well never do it because that much time will never pass.
This might be one of Casey’s best videos and that says a lot.
Oliver Dylan I so agree with you dude. It’s a wake up call.
I said the same thing.
Dang, I’ve been holding to watch the vlogs again for so long. Today decided to watch one video and was this one. Right on point.
Love the perspective! I just turned 40, and my wife and I were having this conversation the other day. Put together exceptionally well in true Casey fashion. Love the Ferris Bueller's Day Off reference at the end!
5 Year old Casey looks like `Dash' from *The Incredibles*
And now he's a runner!
OMG YESS! hahaha!

If I can only have one wifu , it's you Ami. That's my confession.

This is so lovely. I'm going to get off the internet and seize the day.
Robbie Knox o posy videos of potatoes
potato daily Ha ha. Yeah, I’ll probably do that!
Robbie Knox hey Robbie. Loved the shed tours
Film some more videos for us Casey mark 2 x
Dan Chambers Ha ha. It’s funny bumping into viewers in other video comment sections! Cheers Dan.
Incredible storytelling and great perspective on how you measure your short time here. I’ve watched three times. Thank you!
Thank you for this video!! I couldn't articulate it any better. I sooo felt every part. This literally made cry (in a good way) and gave me the feels because you got exactly what I am feeling to a tee!!🙏❤Much love and good vibes-Erica
I see all these comments like
"omg I'm 18 and I feel trapped and old"
"I'm 22, what does it feel like being so old at 40"
Imagine being *80!* with no goals left to hit, only knowledge to pass on. But having no one to talk to.. Damn, sounds sad. Listen to your elders it's the least we can do.. and respect them all.
They know their sh't.
TheOnly enVy you just put me in my feels. Thank you
In a lot of cases I agree they do know their shit, but this is a new generation that thinks and does things really differently than the past
yeah. :l
@@yurynadareyshvili3700 every generation thinks and does things differently. the important information your elders can give you will ALWAYS convert to new ways of thinking and doing. most of it is already widely known "enjoy your youth" "focus on the present" "don't dwell on the past too often" but there's a lot more wisdom to be received from the old timers. Source: Visited a retirement home one time.
@William Brown well said, that’s why I said in a lot of cases not all of them. However I still think that elderly “wisdom” is more like a story than advice, not so applicable in the modern world, I may be wrong but that’s just how I feel.
I'm ngl I'm 21 and it's terrifying how quickly everything is passing me by...
Same here, turning 22 in feb and i feel like i was 18 yesterday, where did time go
Matt and Ros homemade videos bro I’m 20 next year and I’m shitting myself
2019 just snapped like crazy. I don't know where whole year has been
Turning 24 this month, seeing people of my age pass me by in what they achieve and experience scares me.. But I've got to hold this long-term path, or I'd have nothing to show for it.
You shouldnt be. 20 to 25 goes slow. 25 to 30 is just insanely fast. Funny to see how 30 to 35 goes 🤯
this is the reason why i love you, you made that video effective which hits the mind that people can connect with.
We needed this
More than we know it
Thank you.

Hey Casey, love your videos! The past while I've been going through some older videos (2016) and I once again realized how consistently you've produced masterful mini-movies. Have a good one!
This spoke to me in so many levels. Thank you casey! I needed that. ❤️

Casey you did a great video. Lately I think so much about the process of the life, about how much fast is the time, and about what is really important in this life.
Great video man, regards from Barcelona
thank you, i really needed this
This is the classic Casey Neistat video that made me fall in love with his work: profound, deeply nostalgic, well-told, and motivational.
I was waiting for him to say “that’s why I’m starting the vlog again”
It's run its course. I wouldn't be excited about it anymore.
Tushar Chittala tbh I’d love to see his vlog style again... but like the last reply, I wouldn’t be that exited..
Why would a "former UA-camr" restart his blog? :P
C.D. Reimer uploaded 2nd January 2020 what’s “former” about that.. unless you mean blogger then that’s a simple answer, he wanted to...
@@yep.1106 Philip DeFranco introduced Casey as a "former UA-camr" in his interview video three months ago.
Casey, amazing video man. I just discovered your channel and it's 2020. As a Dad with three children, this video really hit me. You are such a great story teller. Thanks brother.
NOW IT'S 2021. AND WHO'S COME BACK TO SEE THIS AGAIAN?
THANK YOU FOR A WONDERFUL VIDEO CASEY.
This hit hard. Turned 30 last year and got a kid, it feels like everything has been moving so fast up until this point...
Loved the video!
Hello sir....big fan

Walk and you stay put.
Stand still and you go backwards.
To get ahead you have to hustle."

Yes. I was thinking about it while standing on the walk escalator in airport.
Yep I have that saved to my favorites

I've been following your channel for a while and have never commented before. But this video of yours is everything. Thanx for amazing content 😊
well done Casey. I am 50 this year and I feel like I've lived a thousand lifetimes. nana is right everyday alive is a great day! Keep on doing what you're doing. We appreciate your views of life and the world around us.
I’m 19 thanks for sending me into an existential crisis 😂

When you start school: Ugh, this is going to be so long. Why does it have to be 12+ years
After you graduate: ...wait, what? Already? IM NOT READY

@@moshpitsonly2778 you have so much to look forward to! I graduate in 2021 and I'm nervous as hell. But I'm learning to make the most of the present moment and I think we all just overthink. I'm sure you'll do just fine. More life to you. I wish you happiness and all abundance 💕
Thats me right now with 5 semesters left starting in the Spring 2020.
Amazing message one more time. Thank you and a Happy New Year for you and the ones you love.
Ha. As I type this I realize that, wow, we really DO need to focus on the NOW and be like your Nana and be grateful for NOW. Thanks for this.
“Time is not equal, the older you get the faster it moves...” Damn that hit hard, who else agrees ?
😭
Time is always relative
@@MrTaylorfenoglio he meant to say you feel it moves faster.
Yeah it hit me hard. When I woke up being 40 years old and I realised it first hand. Lol. Its true though. Time really starts to fly by.
Time doea not move faster... it seems to move faster. When you experience new things, like when you're a kid, everuthing is new, or you start a new job, or visit a new place, time seems to move slower. When you get older, and things are less new to ypu, or you fall into a routine, that is when time seems to go quicker.
this is honestly my favorite video in youtube ever, a masterpiece casey. You will probably never read this, but I have to say you ve really inspired me to go pusrsuit my dreams. You made me love making videos and editing, you somehow guide my life in certain direction since I started watching your videos.
Thanks for it dude!
Love this Casey. Another absolute gem of wisdom! So important during these difficult times.
