I think a good balance for alioth would be On Reveal: After this turn destroy all enemy cards played here. If your opponent drops a lot of power, alioth does its job the same. However, it's not a complete death sentence to your opponent if they don't have initiative. They can still shang chi, or doom, or heimdall, or shadow king, or whatever their play may be and get some value even if their cards end up getting destroyed. However, alioth would probbaly need a buff to power or a cost reduction to 5 energy or something so he'll still be viable against combo decks (as opposed to unbeatable as he can be currently)

I think ravonna would be vastly improved if either 1 she was a 2 cost or 2 if her text said “base power” because if they do that she’d improve the way surfer improves 3 costs, zabu improves 4 costs. she would continue to improve any card in the future that gets a nerf down to 1 power or is released at 1 power or below
I took Chávez out of my decks and it just feels so much better. Especially when you draw the final nut card. Feels like a Yu-Gi-Oh! Heart of the cards moment
@@ydgmdluit's literally math not placebo, you have 1/11 + 1/10 + 1/9 1/8 of opening the wanted card with chavez, which is 43%, vs 1/12+1/11+1/10+1/9 which is 39% then again, it's made for deck that needs to open the 1-2 card combo, aka nebula/sunspot/misty in evo decks or angela/kitty etc, she loses value on the whole game, since you regularly draw 6 cards out of 9, with her you draw 5 cards out of 8, so it benefits the early game
Rescue's stat line should remain the same except her bonus On Reveal power should be distributed to the other cards in her lane. That way she's Shang proof but ultimately the same card.
Yeah Cozy nailed it when he said "I'm an Alioth player, not a Galactus Alioth player". Of course it sucks to be Aliothed, but it feels like it has a place in the game for me at least (similar to losing to a Prof X or like a Leach play). At least for me personally when someone plays those cards I feel "gg's that was a good play", but for some reason it just feel's so bad to be Galactus-ed , let alone Galactus and then you know they now have an Alioth to shut down any hope of winning. Like Alex said, its just an auto retreat at that point.
Do we have super short memories? Pre-Loki move seemded to be doing well, especially after Lamby put out the Silky Smoove deck. Then Loki killed it like most other decks. The meta seemed to be healthy and diverse, and now its Loki and "something that might win vs Loki."
"It's a card that's going to get better over time" is a particularly common phrase. If Chavez is changed then it just becomes all about Miracle decks because Chavez is the thing that allows you to consistently play and get value out of your early game cards.
I need some advice/info. What are you supposed to do when you feel you have the perfect split for a card?. Eg. Your Gold Iron Man with Gold Crackle and perfect border. What do you then do with all the remaining boosters. Should they then be used only on variants?
I'm sure it's already been determined. The devs usually do a Q&A post with new cards they're releasing right before they're released with all the popular questions people have regarding the new card.
@@notbelievingstillcontinuing it could be completely disgusting. If you have mobius and wave on 5 your 6 cost becomes 4 and your 1/2 costs remain the same while limiting the opponent to 1 card.
Pretty sure this wont combo since wave put your cards at 4 cost ignoring eveything else. I already played a wave then my opp revealed an ice man still the card hit remain at 4. I can see it both ways with Chavez, it would widen deck design if noone had access to her, but also a lot of the more combo centric decks we have now will be less fun to play without that extra consistency....but then again having more decks in the meta that are built on multiple win conditions and play patterns would probably make the game more fun overall. I've seen this happen in other card games before where there's something in the meta that everyone uses so it's more a philosophical issue of what the designers want their game to be rather than a balance issue.
Combo decks aren't actually that much hurt by not having Chavez, LOL. If it's a combo that NEEDS to happen before turn six, then Chavez does make a significant difference. But if it's a combo that's playable on turn six (and tends to be game-winning if played on six), then Chavez can actively hurt the combo by preventing you from drawing your final combo piece. I fully support a Chavez rework because I believe that too many people use it as a crutch. The "consistency" thing is a placebo effect literally most of the time. Chavez will help you draw any ONE card 6% more often. If you need more than one card before turn six, the benefit goes down. And whatever benefit you get is often neutralized by bad locations or your opponents playing counters. So Chavez is not increasing win rates by 6%.
To me the big issue with Rescue is that she's just a massive Shang-Chi target, between both her power getting to that 9+ power shang-chi danger zone and the fact that you need to do a followup on the next turn makes it even more of a broadcasted move. Also, I'm no game dev but I think that the easiest fix to make ravonna more viable is to have her ability be related to card default power and not current power, so she can combine with bast or even mister negative if you want to get crazy with it.
Cozy: your thoughts on a radical Ronan change that makes him a 2/0 that gets +1 every time your opponent adds a card to their hand from anywhere other than drawing?
Mobius and wave are both so good by themselves and game ending together I can’t imagine they together won’t find themselves in lot of decks of all kinds.
What's mad is in his current form, loki would still be a great card with morbius used against you. 3 5 is a great stat line; and if u have collector down, he still buffs that. agent Coulson is 3 4 with a worse ability, so loki still wouldn't be dead imo. This is more a statement about loki being super op
Move card idea, ongoing make teleporter on the left of the arena to the right of the arena.. so u can move cards from left location more simpy (plus more interesting heimdal plays)
What if rescue was like a 4/6 or 3/5 that activated the effect of a destroyed card? Would be decent for an extra nova or maybe a Bucky Barnes play and get another soldier ?
I speak about this all the time on their page on Facebook and saw on where is the first edition that that should be a nice flair to the car for people who had it first
I feel like bc of mobius, they can afford to make ravonna busted, say the threshold become 2 or less, or reduce her cost to 2 and have that synergy with mr.negative
@@ydgmdlu how? If for example Knull is a 6/3 at the moment, he doesn’t get discounted. But if Ravonna gives 1 less energy to cards with base 0 power, cards like Knull could be discounted even if they already had been built up. Same with cards that were hit with Bast.
I think you got it right Cozy. I would like to see Chavez be different. She's not a problem, but I don't want to play her even when I know it helps my deck because I want to play other cooler cards. It would be nice to see more interesting 12th card inclusions.
Just take Chavez out of your decks and you'll notice almost no difference in your consistency. She's a crutch and what I like to call "the placebo effect in a card."
I get what cozy is saying but Chavez isn’t really limiting design. She is doing the exact opposite. She is expanding it by making some combos more reliable, that otherwise wouldn’t be worth the risk. She doesn’t guarantee you draw your cards, you don’t draw your entire deck regardless. But denying people that slight boost in rng isn’t expanding deck design. It’s shifting it into more “variety oriented” play styles, that you personally enjoy. Not everyone does Cozy. To;dr deleting Chavez kills many decks that need her to be playable at all, and the decks that she’s helping aren’t being helped to the extent that you think
Chavez is a huge help for people with smaller collections. I often struggle to fill a deck around a certain archtype or strategy. Chavez helps me a lot just by reducing the needed cards for a good deck by one. This card should not change
I think Chavez is being played more now because of Mount Vesuvius as well. Knowing that on turn 6 you will draw Chavez you know if you should retreat on 5 or not
For a potential buff, I suggest a reworked Elektra. Have her destroy a random 1 or 2 cost card at her location. Jeff, Collector, and Mobius get another counter, and it gives her a unique effect separate from Killmonger.
I think the developers wanted rescue and iron man to be played together cause they help each other out and are out of shang chi range, but it's just not that strong unfortunately...
@@sudakshmishra it’s funny because I think nerfing her to 4-8 could be a buff with how often Prof X is played now and could be a good card for Zaby decks as well. She’s also got good follow ups in Captain Marvel and Vision. But Shng Chi is just so prominent and she’s not enough power to be worth the risk, and not good with Shuri.
America Chavez could keep the card thinning aspect without hurting discard. You could make the card say must be played when possible. That way it is expected on turn 6 but helps with those early combos.
100% agree with alex on chavez. maybe they could take her down to a 6/8, i would be ok with that. one of my favorite cards in the game and I think shes a valuable card that just works.
I keep hearing Cozy make it sound like each player having Moebius on the board counters the other. I don't think this is a Daredevil situation. I'm pretty sure if you have Moebius and Sera out and your opponent has Moebius out your cards will just cost the their original energy.
I'm guessing it's a term from a different game but, what is a "greedy" deck? What does that mean? Is it a style to deny your opponent something, like turns or power? Or does it steal power or energy? Would professor x be a "greedy" card? A lot of Snap UA-cam seems to be using that term a lot over the last couple of weeks
For what it's worth, I've been playing bounce a lot, even after the nerfs. I think it's not as bad for bounce as you're implying. I've been essentially down a card slot since the Collector nerf, I can just slot möbius in there and finally have a counter to wave. I think no longer having to worry about wave is worth more than potentially losing the beast discount.
You'll still get the Beast discount as long as your opponent doesn't play Mobius. On the whole, Mobius is a wash for Bounce because it counters Beast when your opponent plays it, but it counters Wave when you play it. Hoogland recently said that the meta right now is overwhelmingly Loki decks, Wave decks, and Galactus decks (which also run Wave), so countering Wave is probably the biggest concern of Bounce players.
On the topic of Loki and releasing mobius later and what could they have done... I think next time they should be releasing the counter card before a new archetype card comes out, allowing the planned environment to already exist and do adjustments from there.
I don’t mind Chavez changes but 2 things. If you change her then Domino and Quicksilver get changed too. Also need to play on her actually ability. Maybe bring a card from another location to her or move her to another location
I can see Rogue increasing in popularity with 3M coming out. Lady Deathstrike could be a good counter to 3M if LD gets buffed with a lower cost of 3 or even 4.
They NEED to change the cards that NOBODY uses. Ex. M'Baku - Starts at the bottom of your deck, Jump to a location (If possible, win the game) Like Captain Marvel. Quake - On Reveal: Swap the other two location. UATU - If in your deck, you can see the unrevealed locations. Sandman - 5 Power. Returned to its former glory.
The problem I see is that this is not going to affect wave Wave sets a cost it doesn't reduce or decrease anything so by definition morbius shouldn't be affecting a wave play
Devs have already confirmed that Mobius overrides Wave. What you said is nonsense because a "Cost reduction" is whenever the current Cost on a card is lower than the base Cost of the card (which is indicated by the green text). This is why Mobius negates Mister Negative, Swarm, and cards generated by The Raft. It doesn't matter how the Cost becomes lower than the base Cost.
I'm a fairly new player and I got the Loki season pass. But I don't really think Mobius hurts Loki as much as the other decks. A good chunk of my plays are on 5 or 6 to feed Collector. Sometimes I don't even play him to hold my Shang because my opponent has a big guy. But this is from someone who is new and only got to the 80s so take my take with a grain of salt.
I've been playing a Loki discard deck that uses Swarm, Helicarrier, and Agent Coulson to build up the hand. Sometimes I keep the random cards, sometimes I use Loki. It's a lot of fun.
my guess is that this will be a mutually assured destruction type of thing , once a few weeks pass people will just not include him on any deck so we can keep having fun. something like leech
I agree with Cozy Alioth can definitely feel annoying at times. On the other hand a card like that was absolutely needed. It was so frustrating getting into battle for a key lane and whoever played Shang Chi last wins. That said Negasonic needs a change, she feels quite useless with Alioth.
41:35 Honestly? I see America Chavez as a crutch made of thorns. Its unnecessary for probably 80% of your games, unless your deck truly needs that deck thinning (Jubilee or Modok discard). She is not a good turn 6 drop at all compared to your 6 cost options that pools 1 and 2 give you. And look... the deck is already 12 cards. You are not making it 11 cards like some people think, because you still only pull 9/12 cards and the 9th is always Chavez. No matter what, she is only a single card and if you start out with a bad hand and turns 1 through 4 don't give you the cards you need, Chavez did not help you there regardless. At a certain point you rely on have a good starting hand before anything else. Drawing one of your 6 costs early is not the end of the world if your deck has a decent amount of 2 and 3 cost cards. I believe Chavez gives the illusion of consistency. The only consistency is her being drawn on turn 6. You getting your other cards in the order you need them or even before Chavez at all, is not helped by Chavez. If she is not the only 6 card in your deck, if you have 2 or more 4 and 5 costs, the chances of your draw order screwing you over can be pretty high. So at the end of the day you have to build your deck with a really good curve, weighted towards the 1-3 cost cards. But at that point you are setting your deck up to statistically draw cards you can use more than the ones you have to wait for, and so that Chavez is only getting in your way. I would rather have a turn 6 draw that is random and have it be potentially useful to my situation rather than a 6 cost that takes up the entire turn if I did play her, which is only 9 power in a single lane while plenty of decks out there have ways to attack multiple lanes in one turn. Plus there is the chance I wouldnt use her anyway (which seems to be most often) and in that case I'd rather have an additional lower cost card that I maybe could have played instead of floating one of my turns. A lot of people have said since inception of her card that it makes your draws better.. I don't see it that way. I think your draws are usually good anyway if your curve is well thought out that people assume its Chavez when she really didnt do anything. Especially since she starts at the bottom of your deck now. You are getting 9/12 cards at least per game... chances are you will get the cards you need. Very rarely will you not get Alioth or whatever card you are hoping to use on turn 5 or 6. Pretty much every game I draw Prof X while playing Lockdown. Because statistically, of course I would. You can't change the draw order no matter what though, and thats what screws people over. And I guarantee Chavez is not helping you with that.
That just depends on the deck right? Like sure a good cards deck doesn't need chavez because the cards are solid. But look at stuff like electro ramp/galactus, lockjaw or loki. You have in those decks only one or two cards that u want to pull. Electro/Wave, Lockjaw/Thor, Loki. Thats what chavez helps with. The chance of drawing these cards on turn 3 or earlier is higher. And thats what I hate about chavez. People go in on only one or two cards instead of having multiple plans. It makes deckbuilding significantly less complex. Instead its just if i draw this card I can snap and have good winning chances. Chavez being changed means ppl might have to bring another plan in their deck to make it consistent which is smth I personally would like to see.

I agree that in a vacuum that would be a good change but the game is starting to get to the point where location changing cards might be TOO common. As it is, it seems like no location is ever safe.
@@PenitusVox i mean, thats an inevitable thing, i feel like. As you release more cards, you would want them to be novel and fun. What is more novel and fun than interacting with one of the most pivotal and unique parts of the game?
Chavez is a completely fine card. Would be a shame if they rework her when we have a big amount of cards that need adjustement...
Finally someone talks about the first edition badges.
I got myself Shuri one day before her cost was lowered from 6k -> 3k just because the first editions got announced.
I know this makes me a sad person but when I wake up on a Monday I think, ‘well at least I have Snapchat’. Thankyou for this I appreciate you both
Guess that makes me a sad person as well 😅
It is entertaining! Nothing but blessings headed your way friend. Just keep your head up in the meantime.🍻
Nothing sad about this show bringing you joy on Mondays!
I'm pretty casual, but I just hit infinite for the first time! Your videos have helped me a bunch, thank you!
Congrats man!
Me too🎉

how?
I think ravonna would be vastly improved if either 1 she was a 2 cost or 2 if her text said “base power” because if they do that she’d improve the way surfer improves 3 costs, zabu improves 4 costs. she would continue to improve any card in the future that gets a nerf down to 1 power or is released at 1 power or below
35:12 best Cozy quote EVER, "I THREW THEIR IRON MAN INTO A SEWER SYSTEM" 😂
Im so proud of Hela. I've been loving her all month long.
I took Chávez out of my decks and it just feels so much better. Especially when you draw the final nut card. Feels like a Yu-Gi-Oh! Heart of the cards moment
Because you have the power of the heart of the cards
But but but.... I love her 😂
Yes Chavez has mostly been a crutch and the alleged consistency improvement is largely a placebo effect.
Must be nice to not have her in half your decks.
@@ydgmdluit's literally math not placebo, you have
1/11 + 1/10 + 1/9 1/8 of opening the wanted card with chavez, which is 43%, vs
1/12+1/11+1/10+1/9 which is 39%
then again, it's made for deck that needs to open the 1-2 card combo, aka nebula/sunspot/misty in evo decks or angela/kitty etc, she loses value on the whole game, since you regularly draw 6 cards out of 9, with her you draw 5 cards out of 8, so it benefits the early game
Rogue gonna be a fun Mobius counter.
Rescue's stat line should remain the same except her bonus On Reveal power should be distributed to the other cards in her lane. That way she's Shang proof but ultimately the same card.
love that alex jumps in front of chavez to defend her. alex was the true marvel hero all along
Only good thing about Monday's is listening to the new episode that drops.
Amen to that. I have revolting thoughts of going to work today.
"Aint nobody mad about chavez!" I cackled 😂
How mobius interacts with wave will decide everything for the next meta.
Never tought of that omg
I'm sure it's already been determined. The devs usually do a Q&A post with new cards they're releasing right before they're released with all the popular questions people have regarding the new card.
@@notbelievingstillcontinuing it could be completely disgusting. If you have mobius and wave on 5 your 6 cost becomes 4 and your 1/2 costs remain the same while limiting the opponent to 1 card.
Pretty sure this wont combo since wave put your cards at 4 cost ignoring eveything else. I already played a wave then my opp revealed an ice man still the card hit remain at 4. Pretty sure if your opp do wave and you then do beast the card will be back at 4 cost.
Yes mobius isnt a increase/decrease cost card but they made wave ignore everything else right now so im pretty sure she will ignore mobius
@@jeremycarpentier5696 Nope. MMM says your costs can't be increased, period. It's been described as an on/off switch. Your 1/2 costs will still be 1/2. Everything above 4 will be 4. @mbrown7325 is right.
Every week it feels liked there's a ranking and it takes up a lot of time. Would def like some variety topics/substitutes instead of weekly rankings.
Don't forget Echo counters Rouge. They steal the effect then Echo cancels it. Been an Echo weeks before her release.
My friend calls common speech patterns we have his "npc phrases" and I love it. I think we all have some npc phrases. "It's a great time to be a marvel snap player!"
Something I don’t think anybody has mentioned, Mobius kinda counters spiderham, spider ham’s pig is normally 0 cost and get’s increased so if spider ham hits something like a infinaut or death and you have mobius that’s a lot of power for 0 cost
I wonder if there is a world where I discard Super Skrull with Silver Samurai just to have him in my backpocket for Ghost Rider should my opponent run ongoing cards.
Rogue finally not ignored haha, she's so underrated
Been running her in my high Evo deck so I'm ready for ol triple m
“Rescue could be the Ghost Rider of Destroy”
Phoenix Force is in tears.
A couple weeks ago you started calling Alex “bud” so much that we could make a drinking game out of it. 😂
Cozy says “woof” at least twice for like the past 5 episodes now
To be clear Super Skrull doesn't protect your Zabu from their Mobius. Your cards will cost their original cost, neither increased nor decreased.
AT TURN-4 SKRULL WILL HAVE THEIR M0BIUS AFECT WICH IS 'CLEARLY' *THEIR CARDS CANT BE DECREASE & Y0UR CARDS CANT BE INCREASE* THUS YES SKRULL WILL (LATELY) PR0TECT
Tell us in the comments what we say the most often, followed by your favorite transition phrase “ummm but yeah dude” 😂😂😂 it has to be up there in most used phrases
"Without question" is a big one, love the Snap Chat!
I don't know if it's just me, but Mobius feels like two cards shoved together.
What if rescue was like a 4/6 or 3/5 that activated the effect of a destroyed card? Would be decent for an extra nova or maybe a Bucky Barnes play and get another soldier ?
Hm... Maybe like an Iron Lad that takes the abilities from the last destroyed card? Thematically cool
@@RickReasonnz that would work great IMO

Alex: "This list just slaps"
It’ll be cool to get a “retro” game mode, where all cards have original stats and abilities when it was released.

@@markusbosch2305Hell cow and Negative were busted back at the beginning
I speak about this all the time on their page on Facebook and saw on where is the first edition that that should be a nice flair to the car for people who had it first
Cozy following it up with “but yeah, dude” 😂
I feel like bc of mobius, they can afford to make ravonna busted, say the threshold become 2 or less, or reduce her cost to 2 and have that synergy with mr.negative
They should just reword her so that cards with base power 0 costs 1 less. That makes her cracked.
@@markusbosch2305that's worse than her current ability.
@@ydgmdlu how? If for example Knull is a 6/3 at the moment, he doesn’t get discounted. But if Ravonna gives 1 less energy to cards with base 0 power, cards like Knull could be discounted even if they already had been built up. Same with cards that were hit with Bast.
Not to mention the location counter for places like dream dimension, peak and elysium
YAAAAASSSSS ANOTHER BEAUTIFUL MONDAY WITH COZY AND ALEX 🎉
You're wrong about Chavez. Adam Warlock and Crystal can do an even better job for combo decks. Chavez is mostly just the placebo effect in a card.
Never in my life would I think there could be a medicine for Iceman
Alex use to say “No Kidding” a lot. I think he catches himself now.
Chavez is a huge help for people with smaller collections. I often struggle to fill a deck around a certain archtype or strategy. Chavez helps me a lot just by reducing the needed cards for a good deck by one. This card should not change
Cozy 'I don't know man' Snap
Enchantress/Echo/Rogue everywhere do we think once MMM is out?
exactly what i was thinking
I think Chavez is being played more now because of Mount Vesuvius as well. Knowing that on turn 6 you will draw Chavez you know if you should retreat on 5 or not
For a potential buff, I suggest a reworked Elektra. Have her destroy a random 1 or 2 cost card at her location. Jeff, Collector, and Mobius get another counter, and it gives her a unique effect separate from Killmonger.
Would also counter Dracula which is cool
I’m excited for the card changes but buff THE KINGPIN!👏
isn't phoenix force the "ghost rider" for destory but even better?
Fuck Loki, so I'm happy Mobius is being released
I think the developers wanted rescue and iron man to be played together cause they help each other out and are out of shang chi range, but it's just not that strong unfortunately...
I mean if you activate Rescue’s effect she’s 9 power so definitely within Shang Chi range
Rescue is shang chi range
Oh shit I thought she becomes a 4-8, my bad.
Cozy, you say uh and um an insane amount. Especially with a slight pause before the quick "...uh"
2:28. Where ARE the 1st edition badges. Thats a great question.
Cozy your forgetting to upload the podcast version of these episodes lol
My American ears always perk up when Alex says about ("a-boat")😂
I keep hearing Cozy make it sound like each player having Moebius on the board counters the other. I don't think this is a Daredevil situation. I'm pretty sure if you have Moebius and Sera out and your opponent has Moebius out your cards will just cost the their original energy.
Cozy literally said that both players having Mobius on the board results in both players playing their cards for base Cost.
I'm going to try a destroyer spectrum ongoing deck with this, Cosmo to protect him, and wave to 1-2 drop with your 6 cost
Or maybe she could be played into a location and if there isn't room then she replaces the lowest power card
I ran into a Hela player with Loki in their deck. I won, but I think Loki as a tech card in a somewhat-unreliable gameplan is a decent idea.
I've been playing a Loki discard deck that uses Swarm, Helicarrier, and Agent Coulson to build up the hand. Sometimes I keep the random cards, sometimes I use Loki. It's a lot of fun.
Well to buff move only move to the left, that could be a great change but move randomly can be a bit too much
that destroy revival ability for Rescue also fits thematically, you dont want that on a new card
my guess is that this will be a mutually assured destruction type of thing , once a few weeks pass people will just not include him on any deck so we can keep having fun. something like leech
People didn't drop Leech until it was reworked.
I agree with Cozy Alioth can definitely feel annoying at times. On the other hand a card like that was absolutely needed. It was so frustrating getting into battle for a key lane and whoever played Shang Chi last wins. That said Negasonic needs a change, she feels quite useless with Alioth.
41:00 -41:17 the friendship is being put to a test
I wish these were 8hrs long so they could last through my whole shift
Cozy: “uh/um”
Alex: “Like”
;) great episode
