- Rough wired this house in 2022 on Maryland's Eastern Shore, to the blueprint's specifications. Due to not having a vanity cabinet layout 🤦 Change orders will happen and here they come! If your vanity lights don't line up to your sink's center ? This video may give you some helpful advice in your lineup process. I hope it helped you? If so , please let me know by crashing the 👍🏻 button and consider subscribing. Thanks for watching and God bless you all🙏
Thank you for giving detailed information. It was very helpful.
FANTASTIC!! So much helpful info! I was actually considering cutting a small hole in the side wall to let the tip of the new fixture 'bar' go into it -- to prevent having to move the lightbox. You've made me pretty sure I can do it!
Love ur attention to detail 👍
Thanks Dave, I appreciate the compliment 👍🏻 and you watching.
Good stuff
Thanks for watching and the compliment 👍. I really appreciate it ☺️
Man... I have to do two of these this weekend. What a pain. Great video! Now I have an idea of what I'm getting myself into.
Thanks for watching and commenting 👍🏻. I hope your light relocating goes great for you.
I have to move my bath vanity light, but it is centered. I just want it straight UP from current location because it is too low. I am confident the wire comes from the attic, I'm a little nervous I will hack the wire when cutting drywall for new hole...Ideas?
Thanks for watching and commenting. Great question! Don't use a jig saw or a reciprocating saw. They will cause you great trouble. I recommend an oscillating saw or a hole saw for round boxes. If it's a new hole saw , use in reverse to reduce the grabbing effect and messing the cut . Go very slow, this isn't a race and you'll be just fine. Let me know how it goes for ya.
I'll be doing this tomorrow, ugh. I do have lever nuts, I find they make things little easier for me. Here goes nothing..Thanks for the how to.
That particular style of light fixture with the Edison socket with the outside porcelain threads has a bakelite or plastic of some sort locking ring to hold the globe on the fixture. Those locking rings or nuts dry out after time and the global falloff and break.
The term affordable is a kindness, I prefer phrase "cheap junk."
I know what you mean. These vanity lights have aluminum rings. They should be good to go. Thanks for the comment. I have installed the lights your talking about. They are junk!
HA! My (like 15?-yr) old hallway light had ZINC socket shade rings -- and when I unscrewed the (run hot, apparently degrades zinc?)) halogen bulb, the zinc socket ring split into three parts! Fortunately, the ring in the NEXT bulb only chipped a bit, so I'm trying to find replacements cause I LOVE the light fixture; they do NOT make it any longer, and I don't want to replace it with something different!
I've started putting 2x6 blocking in the wall and cutting in a octagon box, Too many builders/homeowners change there mind these days
Yes, those Carlon old work round boxes are rated for 6 lbs. I checked Home Depot's website.
That sounds about right. I'm not to sure about trusting them holding a 6# vanity light in a bathroom with a lot of steam softening up the sheet rock 🤔
Another great job 👏 Ron always very informative and love the CHINA wire nuts throw them out with BIDEN.Go Trump in 24 🇺🇸🇺🇸💪💪
