Also, for those of you who were not there, this panel took place right after the Bluey VA Q&A panel where there was a large number of babies, toddlers, and other young children. The con staff wanted to clear the room of all of the audience members in time for this one. At the time, I thought this was a silly rule put in place because I went to the Bluey panel not just because I like Bluey but because I thought it would give me a way to wait out for it by sitting in there and not in the loud and long line for the Helluva panel outside. I've been to cons that let you do that. Afterwards, I realized they probably did that so they could insure there wouldn't be any one under 18 (or at least there wouldn't be anyone under the age of 13 since I think I did see some kids in there, I still think they should have made this an 18+ panel just to be safe) in that room for this panel given the nature of this show. I just think it's funny that they had one panel for a show that little toddlers can watch and then right after it, they have a panel for a show that is very Hard R.
I had so many mixed emotions watching this, I’m laughing, then Im crying because I live in the uk and will probably never see these people irl, then I’m smiling because of new hints, so overall tysm for filming this 😂❤️

Thank you for this. The speech that Bryce gave about everyone being welcome after my question on Disability representation is what is helping me thrive. I have this "irrational" fear that people hate disabled people such as myself due to all of the screwed-up stuff I have heard people say about disabled people solely for being disabled. By this I don't mean jokes people make. I mean people being serious about their hate for disabled people. This means I was worried he probably felt the same way. Hearing his speech made my day. I go back to that time stamp a lot when I need to help myself feel better.
Anyone remember Dreyers/Edys Dreamery ice cream. It was labeled Ice Dreamery when it first came out 20+ years ago. The pints had good artwork on them (by a known artist, I think). It was the first time I saw a company try to compete with the Ben and Jerry's pint, and it was like someone finally convinced the boring CEOs that more ice cream flavors were possible. They came out with Grandma's Cookie Jar (three flavors of cookie dough) and Deep Dish Apple Pie (complete with amazing pie crust pieces). They were SO good. This was around the rise of the huge health-conscious backlash against the fat content of grocery and fast food brands, so they changed their recipes not long after - such as the renamed and inferior Grandma's Cookie Dough.
My question comes up at 22:51. If you cannot hear what I am saying, here is the transcript (I still have it written down on the notes app on my phone). "When it comes to a show like Helluvaboss, you need to remember that this show is of course in Hell. This means all sorts of horrible stuff happens there and it's filled with all sorts of horrible people. Or course the humor is going to be offensive and cruel, this includes marginalized groups of people. However, as the show has progressed, we are presented with some positive physical disability representation through Fizzarolli, his pet who used wheels, and Oliver. They appear to have accommodations that Hell approves of such as prosthetic limbs, wheels, and sign language. What about neurodivergent disabilities? What about Autism, ADHD, Bipolar, Schizophrenia, the entire umbrella. What about that? Are they respected? Do they receive respect?" I didn't realize how quiet I came off here. It would have been helpful if the con provided a microphone to be passed around to the people asking questions as I assume most con do (at least the other panels at cons I have been to do that, this is my first year at Lexcon). As for why the question was given such a long introduction, I figured I had to give extra context to the question so it would make sense because I feel like if I simply asked, "how are neurodivergent characters treated in hell and what accommodations do they have" would have come off as strange to throw out like that. When asking this, I was also feeling the early effects of con crud which has taken full swing over my body by this point (I hardly got any sleep last night because of it) so maybe the fatigue I was feeling was making me speak too quietly. I also explained that I made the Octavia doll I was holding up. She was created from an Ever After High Dragon Games Teenage Evil Queen doll (Raven Queen's mom for those more familiar with the lore of that franchise). I re-rooted her, cut her hair into layers, sewed the dress, vest, and beanie she is wearing, and added a fabric paint tiara on the beanie. I figured that since the word "toy" is in the name of the convention and the fact that the Helluva crew was there, it would only be appropriate to bring her along with me.
I remember you! Great question and awesome doll! I'm sure that in a way our imperfections is part of what draws us to the show. I'm glad you asked and the response excites me for the future of the show. I will be watching with great interest. Also, hope you get to feeling better! I had to work today and was just not feeling it.
@@Watson606 Thank you. I was a little worried about asking it in fear that I would get mocked for it. As it turns out, a few people have told me that it was an insightful question. It stems from this fear that I have about the show. What if Octavia was born disabled (specifically neurodivergent since we see that physical disabilities are given accommodations and respect). Would Stolas still love her as a daughter? I doubt Stella would as she hardly seems to care about her when she's non-disabled. That same worry also inspired me to make an AU (well more like a story with characters based off of characters from Helluva Boss, but slightly altered and more human based) where the Stolas based decides to leave the royal family when they find out the Octavia based character is autistic and they don't accept her for that. He raises her in a somewhat sheltered but also enriching life in a place reminiscent of the the English country side where she is homeschooled and given the opportunity to gain skills (as in this universe, people with diagnosed disabilities are not allowed to have powers) in place of learning magic. The story is still under development, but I would like to bring it to life somehow someday.
That sign language interpreter is just SO expressive, I love her.
the ASL interpreter was fabulous. took everything in stride
"Opinions on rubber duckies? This is foreshadowing, *Brandon.* "

The Bluey Q&A was really fun tho!
I attended both panels and yes, the mood whiplash was insane 😂
It’s awesome for the teenage fans that it’s 13+ tbh
This is like a real life episode of the show. It's hilarious
