    Hey, I've finally taken the plunge into the ms-3. I'm a singer as well and hate tap dancing while i play. This video has blown my mind. So far I've got separate patches as different parts of a song, but judging by this i could go into the red mode on one patch and use one switch to turn off the comp and on loop 1 (my od) as well as another function... That would mean i can use one patch per song rather than a whole bank... I hope I've understood that right.
    Sorry for the ramble. If I've understood your video right it's going to be an absolute game changer!!

      Hi there Richard, thanks for watching. Yes you can do that no problem, or combinations of both. It is a very flexible pedal with a variety of options for each of the footswitches. For example you could assign a switch to actually turn some things on and something off at the same time. Give me a shout if you have any more questions, all the best, Neil

      That would be awesome! I love everything else about this box, especially using MIDI to change amp channels.

    Thank you for an amazing series of MS-3 videos. May I respectfully suggest that you use manual focusing on your camera? Please set the focus on the display and use f5.6 or f6.3 as Aperture and then the unit and everything else around it will be sharp. Then when you turn the knobs showing all the settings wouldn't make the MS-3 screen blurry. If you want everything in focus including your arm then set the even lower f-stop of 8 or 11... Some may argue that only changing the f-stop to 8 or 11 used with autofocus would do the trick, but if you're working with Panasonic, their AF isn't that fast . Just my 2c, thanks again for great videos!

    This is not really a fix. Since there is not a delay trails (or reverb for that matter) the effect gets cut off when you bypass the effect or switch to a different preset. Thankfully I plan on using the MS3 for simple effects and switching channels on the Bluguitar Amp1. This is a bummer that trails is not available on a unit like this.

    • @NeilSpencerBruce
      @NeilSpencerBruce  5 років тому

      I guess it is a work around rather than a fix. The Bluguitar Amp1 is fantastic, I recently saw Thomas demoing it, I think I might have to pick one up ;)

    Hi! Is there a way to assign the pedal expression to make the delay to self oscilate? Like… heel down - normal tempo, toe down - oscillate… Thank you so much!

    • @NeilSpencerBruce
      @NeilSpencerBruce  5 місяців тому

      Hi there, I don't see why not. This would be a case of assigning the expression pedal to the feedback and/or delay time of say an analogue or tape echo effect.

    Great video! But how the heck to you turn on/off the tails, trails, or whatever the carryover effect for the Reverb and Delay is called. I knew at one time and turned mine on but want to turn it off. Spent an hour and a half now searching all over the dang Internet as well as scouring the manual and can't find a thing. thanks in advance to anyone that can help me on this

    Thanks for posting the these tips
    Is it possible to stack delays, run multiple delays at the same time?
    Thanks

    • @NeilSpencerBruce
      @NeilSpencerBruce  4 роки тому

      Hi Paul, no worried and thanks for watching. You can kind of do this with the MS3, where you choose sub delay along side the main delay. Sub delays are a bit more limited than the main delay, plus you can only have two. What are you trying to replicate? All the best, Neil

      @@NeilSpencerBruce Thanks for your reply.
      I'm looking at building a small pedalboard to do some ambient music. I was wondering if the MS-3 could achieve this kind of thing but from one box, ua-cam.com/video/LZ8CQCowhKU/v-deo.html. It would cut down on the size of pedalboard and pedals required. I also watched your video on Controlling the Timeline with the MS-3 and found it very informative. How many midi pedals can be controlled with the MS-3? this kind of setup is going to be all new to me and I'm on a BIG learning curve.
      Thanks again.

    I wonder how close these sounds are to the Boss Katana. Probably the exact same engine yeah?

    • @NeilSpencerBruce
      @NeilSpencerBruce  3 роки тому

      I believe they are the same sounds in the effect engine, based off of the COSM engine. Only difference of course are the amp models (and the amp!) All the best, Neil

    i use the MS-3 in 4 cable method and I'm considering putting a delay pedal (fixed at around 450ms with 5-6 repeats, level just high enough to be heard) in my signal chain immediately after the MS-3 in my amp effects loop. Might be too much delay; I don't know. Does this work for anyone else?

    If your with in a patch can you also assign the MS3 to change Amp channels via Midi so you can have your overdriven sound with delay tails switch to a clean tone?

    • @NeilSpencerBruce
      @NeilSpencerBruce  5 років тому

      Hi Marcel, thanks for watching and your kind words. Congratulations on your purchase! A great combo. There are a couple of ways, but I guess I would use it either in Loop 3 or after the MS3, depending if you are using OD/DIsts mainly or Reverbs/delays? I would also contect them via midi so that you can control the patches on the HX effects. Hope that helps, Neil

    Dude, you seem to have an excellent grasp of the capabilities of the MS3... And I'm sorry to bother you with this but I am stymied by something and I'm hoping you can help me out... I am trying to assign my Delay Effect Level to my expression pedal #1 via assignment patch #1... I've been in touch with Boss and did what they suggested but it's still not working... I've gone back n forth with them several times and now they're simply not returning my emails... Would you be able to figure out for me how to get this to work? I don't know if I'm using the wrong setting somewhere else and it's affecting this... I'm just really confused now at this point... I've been playing guitar and messing with pedals for the last 30 yrs... I'm no rookie... I have good understanding of these types of things but this has really got me stuck... The unit may even be malfunctioning but how would I even know that? Right? Everything else seems to be working fine... It's all just very frustrating... I just subscribed to your channel so I'll keep an eye on this vid looking for a reply... I appreciate any help or insight you may provide... Ty..✌

    Hi! Would you answer the following thing that keeps me wondering about Boss MS-3 before buying it or not, I've went through series of different tutorials, but none of them gave the answer for what I am looking for.
    Here it is: let's say you are in "Memory" mode, you got clean sound with delay effect ingaged for doing dotted 8 thing along with some spring reverb that has a time set to 4.5seconds in patch number 1,
    and you have your drive sound with analog delay modeling with feedback turned up high with plate reverb set to 5.3 seconds in patch number 2.
    Question is if I switch between those two patches will the delay and reverb tales (or at least delay tales) cut the very moment you switch from patch 1 to 2 and vice-a-versa? Or will you still have that last played note's delay tale from the previous patch to naturally fade out?

    • @NeilSpencerBruce
      @NeilSpencerBruce  5 років тому

      Hi, there, thanks for watching. The short answer is unfortunately no, the tails cut off when you switch patches, but this is a kind of work around, which might help you ua-cam.com/video/1w35Sco7UyI/v-deo.html Any more questions, do let me know. Thanks Neil

    This might be a stupid question, but how do you get your delay to be a sub-division (like a dotted eighth note) when using the delay tap setting?

    • @NeilSpencerBruce
      @NeilSpencerBruce  5 років тому +1

      HI there,, thanks for watching. TO set the sub divisions is a little bit strange, but you need to keep turning the delay time up until it goes way past 3 o'clock (1400ms or more) and they will appear!

    how did you edit your patch to get 2 delays?

    • @NeilSpencerBruce
      @NeilSpencerBruce  5 років тому

      I used the Delay setting and then under FX1 or FX2 I used the sub delay which give you two (or 3) delays per patch.
