I have a JPI830! You'll love it! Just make sure you program your K-Factor correctly for the fuel burn. I have mine accurate down to within a gallon which makes planning a flight with fuel stops significantly easier. It's so nice to know what is going on with your engine as well.
@@therealjimmysworld complete 3-4 flights for min 2 hrs cruise. Measure manually your fuel before and after each flight then add the K-Facfor provided. There is a simple calculation which you will program in. Very straightforward.
You are going to want the circle dial instead of the rectangle box. My old flight club had two of them. The design makes no sense, the lights are confusing when you select hnav/vnav. The circle design is logical and easier to use.
I love packing peanuts. I have a layer 3 to 4 inches deep in my attic for additional insulation. If the place ever catches fire, the fire company will be able to spot where the fire is from their fire house 3 miles away.
Some companies, in Australia anyway, use packing peanuts that dissolve in water so very easy to dispose of. I think they are made from cornflour or some sort of starch and solves a bit of a headache regarding disposal. Loving the videos. Thanks.
You should try resurrecting a Navion. There are some good projects out there and it would be a hoot to watch you spend your money bringing one of those great planes back to life. I have one and they are great flying planes.
Oh no! I don't think the Trio interfaces with the G5's. I'm guessing you don't care - you'll probably just use the track function to following a GPS course and the "course" function to fly headings.
SCRATCH LAST: From Trio's website: The testing for the G5 is complete and we are completing the approval process. We plan to make the upgrade process very simple. You will only have to pay for shipping to and from Trio Avionics.
@@therealjimmysworld Got it, I just watched you video on you taking it out of the box. You mentioned cheaper but it doesn't seem much different. Why did you pick that over the other? Timing? Love the show.. I have an arrow II :)
it's similar with a few small pros and the install is more difficult with Trio...not looking forward to that part... - panel mount, easy install, no fab work needed for that part. Here's a good discussion on Trutrak vs Trio. www.pilotsofamerica.com/community/threads/trio-vs-trutrak.115271/
That you’re crazier than we are. You should have tried standup..... HEY WAIT! If you try standup, it might help defray the costs of refurbishment! Then you can go REAL high dollar on the panel!
I can’t believe I watched the whole thing for nothing : - No home address: - Your wife didn’t barge in to give you sh*t about all the time and cash you spend on that plane. I hope I don’t die before that plane finally flies. Will be close.
Just watching you let all those little Styrofoam balls float all over and mess up your office like that makes me nervous about flying in your plane. That's not the sign of a tidy mind, and you can't be a good pilot if the cockpit is messy and unorganized - even if you are big enough to do the job. AAARGH!
"Keep you Doctor" comment. Now I know why I like you and your video's.
hahahaha
Great choice in the jpi system. That’s what we have in all of our planes and it’s money well spent!
Thanks! I think so too!
Cool that there's still some good folks out there, the one that delivered your package and Tim helping you out with you avionics.
Yes! I am thankful for all the help!
Oh, Mountain Dew. That explains a lot. hehehe

You're welcome on the Trio Jimmy! :p
Rock and roll!

JPI has some great products!
I'm pretty excited! and this will be my first JPI product.
Now I know where I have seen you before you were the electrician from the movie 'Down Periscope'

oh, okay. That sounds easy enough.
Ha ha ha! I love the box of puppies that you used for censoring at the beginning (I presume to conceal the address).
hahaha, thanks! yep, puppies are always a good choice!
Finally, a product I want that an STC is actually available for my aircraft.
Go Jimmy go! Hopefully we will be going on a flight in that Cherokee 6 soon. 😎🤣
Heck yes!
Good stuff... Keep on keepin'
Thanks, will do!
"it's big enough to do the job" lol. Seeing the can of Dew on the desk explains a lot. 😂

Nice choice of autopilot!
Thanks! I can’t wait to get all this shiny stuff installed!
Really lucky the neighbor wasn't rebuilding her plane!
I was worried about that. Lol
Thank you for the video.

The Trio site shows a round unit? Can't wait for the video.
There’s 2 options, round and rectangle panel mount 2”x6”, have to dig through the website.
The tips and tricks I learned while working on my own plane? Well I have to own one first.
Rod Cichon; hey Jimmy did you ever get that 310 that sat for 37 years in the air?? That looked like a nice project..

hahaha, they're having a sale on them. Fresh from China.
3000 dollars for a box full of Styrofoam. That's very expensive Styrofoam.
:_))
