I rolled my eyes and went to their site expecting "I Saw You Coming" prices, but was pleasantly surprised. I have a workshop in which I've more or less built one of these for myself over the years, but I'd be hard pressed to make it worth my while doing so compared to what Mark's offering. Very impressive. Really nice to see such a good product made in my home country too.
Looks like I am going to need to invest in an umbrella for my Playseat Challenge, since so many people are p*ssing on it! I had my doubts too, until I tried one.
@@bobmcl2406 the major problem is that there is a metal "pipe" right between your feet. That causes a big problem when you want to break with your left foot. With the Fanatec CS 2.5 I nearly ripped my seat of the metal construction ^^
@@bobmcl2406 I just tried one. That ActiFit thing is soft and elastic and after a while you'll stay on those straps that dig into your body. And the force feedback is leaking through that unstable mounting thing. It is overrated. Better than a stand with a cheap chair maybe but worse than you can built at home with cheap materials.
You know what? I love that you did an interview rather than a review. Dave's review is already great, and ever since I first heard of Rock Solid Rigs, I have been very curious to see an interview. Thank you!
@@randomcallsign Ah sorry I never saw this! I've been away from simracing (life got in the way), but I'm getting back into it now and the RSR-21 will be my new rig :) Hope you're doing well, I'm doing good.
This seems like a really great option for people that run high ffb DD wheels and/or really heavy loadcells as they can have something that really will endure the forces, won't flex and give them confidence. Downside would be the looks, but it's nothing a bit of paint can't fix.
I'm so glad I've encouraged you to go and make this video. Such a great simrig (which my anti-plastic mid-life crisis approves a lot). It's a piece of art, seriously. You can even paint it any colours you want although I love as it comes.
If I didn't already have a high-end rig I'd likely check this one out, thanks for bringing it to my attention 🙂 I wonder if they offer alternate colour finishes, such as staining it or panting it in specific colours.
This rig looks fantastic! As a long time woodworker I can appreciate the design and CNC fabrication of this rig. The use of the high count veneers in the plywood will make this setup very strong and stiff. Would love to try this rig and see it finished in a beautiful wood stain and clear finish. Peace!
All the carbon emissions saved from the previous strict lockdowns were useless because our plastic consumption went off the charts. Im still in the process of making my own wood rig, but having a commercially available organic material rig is game changer

Great video! I quite liked the format of this one, it was nice hearing from the creator his ideias behind it
Looks about 100 times more of the quality than the PlaySeat Challenge seat line up.

Some wood stain and it will become the most beautiful rig ever
I just got my RSR-21 built. It's amazingly SOLID and the adjustments are quick and easy.

LOL the donut part. Priceless !
This looks awesome, the wood is such a nice touch! Great video!
This looks so solid. Thanks so much for this video and insight.
Great stuff, interesting material and design concept. Thank you!
Interesting interview. Nice to see someone solving an engineering problem from "first principles". The answer is not always obvious. Bravo to RSR.

Love this, mine has just been shipped!
Sheesh, now i wanna build a custom setup
I love hearing why companies do what they do. Nice interview, random. But I need that 720s rim.
I talk with Mark, its so much a nice guy and his product is awsome. I love mind much more than my alumunium one :)
Thank you for the content :)
RC, any info on that little button box?
3d printed custom made
This is amazing, a lot better than my wooden diy rig, pity shipping is a nightmare where I’m from.
Can you fit a seat with seat sliders?
please, share design schematics please :)
Wow awesome rig!!!!
He sounds a bit like Scott Mansell from Driver 61. Which team did he work for, didn't catch that anywhere.
Red Bull
@@randomcallsign ah, thanks!
O god now I want one

As a designer it appeals to my aesthetic. But, I think its overkill for my G29 with VR.
7:00 Mr R.C aka Mr P.C
Fun to see something different, But i still think people will buy the aluminium profiles over this
that rig looks really cool, but that input lag doesnt xD
I made one out of wood and it was great until it starts to squeak lol
completely different type of material here
@@randomcallsign how much does it cost ?
Soooo.... The Pyramids should have been built with wood?
Follow up video will be a sim rig made from stone! Now that will last the Ages!
Monitors should not be connected to the rig. They should stay independently not connected to your force feedback.
I'm not a fan of wood for a sim rigs. Maybe if they came in different colors I'd care. idk.....
