The beaches 10 minutes walk south of Corralejo are bliss and some of the best on the island. Great walk along till you reach the first 2 hotels then head inland to catch bus on main road back.
Cheers Kevin. Having never been to Fuerteventura this has been helpful. Now want to dance the night away in music square and find a lovely apartment /villa overlooking the beach or close to shopping, bars etc Maybe you or viewers can recommend. We generally do front line to take in beautiful sunsets etc. From a (been to Lanzarote so many times Still Gamer). Now need a change for Winter sunshine xx
I went a half dozen times to Caletta de Fuste (with my mum and my son when he was smaller) and thought it an ideal family resort. Very contained resort, lovely promenade and more than enough for a family to be entertained. Went to Corralejo and thought it was just a bigger version and slightly grubbier tbh. By far though the best beach is over in the NW at El Cotillo; a slightly hidden gem of a small town with a wonderful beach and superb restaurants. In summary, I’d recommend the island of Fuerteventura and it’s really whatever suits you best would be ideal. I’ve also holidayed in the far south at Jandia which was also a lovely resort but with more German tourists.
You said that some of the accommodation in Caleta has not been touched since the 70s. Caleta didn't exist as a resort in the 70s, it was purpose built in the late 90s early 2000s. It was simply a tiny fishing village.
I fancy going to costa de fuste staying at the barcelo there, but I am torn because I did love correlejo visiting my mum from pdc a month and a bit ago. 😮
0:10 hey up hope your enjoying your time there. I miss gran canaries was in servatour waiki oct 9 til til 15th last year. I never been here yet though. Happy new year.
been to both much prefer corralejo neither has the best beach but a short ride from corralejo you have the golden sands of larga beach in the national park which is the best beach i have been too
Totally agree, Correlejo wins hands down for us, we liked the walk on the front of CDF but found the town abit scruffy & run down, it's a much better atmosphere in Correlejo & music square is brilliant 👍
Haven’t been to CDF so can’t compare and to be fair I’ve only ever visited Corralejo as day trips from Lanza. For me I’ve always been happy to return back to PDC after visiting Corralejo. I prefer a large promenade rather than the main strip being situated back from the sea. The South of the island does look lovely though Kevin. You should check it out sometime👍
Hi Kevin l have to say that it's Caleta for me especially the area around the Atlantico shopping centre and the close proximity of the airport Happy days 😀 in your accommodation in about 15 mins no long bus drives I appreciate your opinion great video as usual great information. Regards Des
Visited Corralejo many times Kevin, Blue Bay way back before the big hotel chain took over when you had the use of everything sauna jacuzzi etc, now it’s you have to pay a little extra to join the Spa club and fence yourself off, have barbecue nights separate from other guests but in full view, even the catering went down the usual outside contractor stuff you see in every big hotel chain dining rooms these days, cracking place though had some great nights out and beaches are second to none.
You can’t go to corralejo without visiting the dunes..the sand stretches for miles, amazing. Also id recommend visiting El Cotillo, beautiful beaches there too.. you can visit by bus but car hire so cheap there, I hire every time. Also if you do hire car it opens up so much more.. and there’s a lot more to Fuerteventura than corralejo and caleta.
You should try grandes playas beach it out of this world its about 5 mins in taxi ,theres a hotel either side of it ,its beautifull clear water (paradise)😂
@@JojoJacquesTarot theres nothing around there only two hotels either side n a shop by the walkway just b4 the beach n a little beach hut selling food n drink but the beach is stunning so if you go (enjoy ) x
Visited Fuerteventura a couple of times last year. For me, Corralejo is a much better destination than Caleta. Caleta is probably a good pick for older people and young families as it's quite flat and compact but I found it a bit characterless. Corralejo has a really good vibe and great beaches to the south. I also really like Morro Jable right at the southern tip of the island, it's beautiful down there. So Corralejo for me (or Morro Jable) 👍
I'm going to Fuste on the 14th February. We stay at the Elba Sara which is a great hotel. I feel that Caleta De Fuste is quite small and felt Corralejo more in it. We did take a day trip to Jandia once looked nice didn't get the chance to see much of it. We were on the bus travelling a long time to get there. Felt like a wasted day because more time spent on the bus. We ate at a restaurant near the front. My mate had something different from me. Middle of the night second last night of the holiday he got sick. Were sure from whatever he ate in that restaurant. Last day of the holiday the sun was splitting the skies but he felt so bad spent all daytime in bed.
Fuertventura is clearly a bigger island & the transfer time is a big issue 90 minutes is way too much I’d go with Caleta, as watching previous videos i don’t like the look of Correleco,I don’t know why hmm beaches close don’t look great but I’m biased having been to Lanzarote 10 times wouldn’t rule out a short stay there but Lanzarote holds great memories and fondness for me 🤗
Going to Elba Sara end January. Been to Corralejo loved it.But thought we would try here. Now lots of people are saying they prefer Correlejo better😢Too late now😮.
Seen Harry last week,at sunset lounge he was absolutely outstanding, one of the best days I’ve had, sadly only one day left, flying back to the uk Sunday, but what a brilliant two weeks I’ve had,and ur 💯right it’s absolutely brilliant for live music,I normally do lanzerote ,this is my first holiday here in correlejo and this is where I’ll be coming back to in about5/6 months 😊
Think people pick Caleta because it’s nearer to the airport but personally Corralejo when I go, definitely visit McCarthy’s ha I was going to visit from Lanzarote and I didn’t GRR
I've been to both Kevin, definitely corraleigo much more to do sand is wonderful doesn't stick to your feet 😊.cdf has a nice beach and camels if you want a ride and harbour their wouldn't go back ,X
Enjoy the videos and it’s an interesting comparison. Probably controversial but ironically the amount of live music is one of our main put offs with Corralejo, just noise pollution as far as we’re concerned 😂 but each to their own I suppose. It’s also in areas a bit grubby, rundown & some of the outlying areas are to be blunt, a bit of a dump. Of course most resorts can have bits like that (including my beloved Nerja) but it seems more obvious in Corralejo. Caleta is a nicer size, cozier & more family orientated place in my opinion, especially with the big bay for the kids to paddle around. As far as beaches in Fuerteventura go, neither are the best you need to go down to Jandia & Morro Jable for the best ones. Keep up the good work 👍🏻
Been going to Corralejo since 2007, and that's the way it'll stay until old age/bad health dictates otherwise. Great upload, I also seen you're getting trolled by abusive comments on another video of yours, ignore the saps Kevin and keep on motoring. As we say in Dublin, "feck the lot of them." 👊🏼👊🏼
Ive only been to Corralejo on a day trip from Lanzarote PDC, but watching your videos from both resorts Caleta does look nice l quite like to look of bars restaurants etc. Yes corralejo is larger and lots to do there, l would be tempted to split my holiday between them both. See which one comes out tops l must be getting old wanting a more chilled vibe from my holiday, l think lve turned the corner 😂 😂
Bit split for us kev we have 4 boys an both me and my wife an 3 boys love caleta but we have a rogue child that absolutely loves corralejo he always wants to go there every year but unfortunately he loses the vote
Caleta de Fuste for us, although love both…..there is a very dangerous pub there….The Flower 🌺 of Scotland……. Very dangerous, the pub is too much fun, too friendly, very reasonable prices and it’s very difficult to leave!!!!!!!! Say no more 🤭🤭🤭🤭🫣🫣🫣🫣🤫🤫🤫🤫

Corralejo every time and there is a huge beach "Flag Beach" just outside of town. Next visit take a trip there :)

Shhh....don't tell everyone 🤫

fair points but i know what videos get views unfortunately beach dunes ones dont do well for me
Last time we visited Caleta De Fuste the sand on the beach resembled builders' grit.
Corralejo was far nicer to the south of the resort.
Looks lovely
