  • It took my 3 years to follow my dreams because I was paralyzed by fear. So many times in life we fail to move on a goal or dream because we are worried about things that truly don't matter in this thing called life. Family is the most important thing and it's important that you live your life for the people that matter the most. In this video I share what took me so long to leave my job and how life is now that I made the decision to follow my dreams.

    If you feel it in your gut, if your whole being revolts on your way to work at the thought of walking thru those doors and that terrible slamming they do, If you look back at your house as soon as you leave your driveway, it is time. Your health is going down the drain and you feel like crying or punching the wall, it is time. Your bosses are draining your spirit and you are no longer that person your wife or husband and kids adored, it is time. No amount of money is worth it if your spirit is broken. Quit and walk away. Keep your health and smile because you and your family deserve the best version of you. Breathe and keep smiling.

      Yes@! My job is draining my soul. I've called out sick everyday this week and I'm just so depressed. I'm stressed about money but I can't go back to that place. I come home and I'm yelling at me children. This past week, I've noticed how calm everything is at home. I've been able to cook dinner for them, properly supervise them. We've been communicating more. It's beautiful. Only dilemma is, I'm a single mom of 3. I can't quit, can I?

      I just did yesterday...toxic dairy plant with miserable backstabbing coworkers that never gave me a moment's peace and a 45 minute drive 10× week thru backwoods at midnight...decided didnt want to compromise my health, car and most of all my spirit..boss was passive aggressive and blamed me for every issue I reached out for help for!! I still feel bad for the possum my car killed when he ran in front of it!! Thank the almight I did not hit a deer...coworker woman would brag about hunting deer!!

    I was fedup with my job so I quit. It got to a breaking point and I couldn't hold on to it anymore because although I was making good money, I was not happy. My boss called me to transfer me to another location and gave me this week off as my vacation. But I've decided to quit altogether and although I've been doing it for a long time, it was time to leave. I had no time for myself, I can't date, I lost a relationship because I was unavailable, no time for friends or developing friendships, it was time. I've lost 20lbs so far and I'm happier than I've been in years.

    just wanted to congratulate you man. I know this is an old video, but your probably happier now than you were before you made this video. I hope you have found success in finding your dreams. I'm actually going through the same phase right now. I'm 24 and i just quit my first full time job i just started 2 WEEKS ago. i know it sounds crazy but my parents could tell i wasnt happy and wanted me to follow my dreams which is to become a comedian (performing arts). That's one of the toughest routes because there's a lot of competition and its hard to find a decent job in that field. My parents wanted to support me all the way and I'm thankful and lucky to have parents like that. anyways just wanted to share my journey with someone whose been through the same.

    I'm into photography as well but I'm also really liking video editing/ doing music videos. I've been doing it for a while and I don't mind spending hours working for my passion ! I also live in Atlanta so I know the possibility of filmmaking is high. I work in this little grocery store that I hate and I feel I'm not appreciated & I work to hard for to little ! I've been contemplating it for minute but I see your video gives me motivation

    • @adventurousdaydreamer
      @adventurousdaydreamer 6 років тому

      I used to live in Atlanta and finding a job is competitive there. There are so many educated folks in low paying jobs. Do your photography, but don't quit your job until you have a replacement source of income and make sure you have 6 to 8 months of rent saved then quit. I made the mistake of quitting a job without the emergency fund while living in Atlanta. It took me 3 months to find another pt job to go with my other pt hustle. I had quit my job to do photography/film too. Get you an internship somewhere if you lack experience, but keep in mind you are interning to network because they don't pay interns in Atlanta unless you get one with Turner/Time Warner. A mentor in photography would help you too, always work on your passion even while you are hustling. :-)

    When I retired early I was still fairly young(age 42). I retired early due to becoming disabled on the job. And I was the only woman in my social circle, who was retired! All of my close friends still worked and most of them worked full time! And some of them worked part time and some were self-employed and I even know a small number of them, who worked from home!! And there are relatives, friends and acquaintances of mine who had said they wished that they were retired too!! Some of the reasons why they hate their jobs are,(long hours of work that keeps them from spending time with their families and friends! And they don't get to spend as much of their time at home with their families, as they would like! And they want to spend more time with their families!! And they never seem to have very much time to do very many things that they enjoy doing, besides working)!! They told me that they hated a lot their co-workers and in many cases they hated their bosses, too!!! They even said that they would quit working in a second, if it was a possibility!!! But it isn't a possibllity for many of my relatives, friends and a host of other people, who I know personally!!!! And many of them aren't able to retire anytime soon!!!!!!

I left cuz there was so much drugs EVERYWHERE that it scared me so I bailed on my dream. A dream I had achieved. Don't get me wrong I don't wanna be a Blues or Blues-Rock star I'm happy just playing for a star, just playing back up and recording in the studio. As long as I can play my guitar I'm happy. All I will have if I leave is my UA-cam and twitch. Really want to make the jump as I think just the extra time gives me more time to focus on my own thing. • @troywoods
      @troywoods  4 роки тому

      Definitely understand where you are... As I share with others, the biggest challenge you will face is looking at your own shortcomings in the mirror. Entrepreneurship forces you to face all of your weaknesses almost immediately. From there, you just have to be honest about how you want to handle things. Things that you are weak in, are you willing to develop or can you have someone else do those things for you? Just a realistic conversation that you have to continually have with yourself.
