Without listening to your asking advice about the restaurant. My opinion is, i am an outspoken person and a certified chef with a culinary background.
I would have definitely would have said, the truth about how you felt about any food at a restaurant. Majority people don’t say, it’s not a compliment towards the chef. And people worry about spit going into their food after complaining. That’s drawing a thin line, of not giving them your business. Especially since the host didn’t give you water when you asked,
It’s bad business, feelings shouldn’t be involved when you’re dealing with business. You can’t take things personally especially when you are giving business to nationwide worldly. I would have not tolerated that.
I would have definitely said my peace, get some compensation for it and then walk out. With zero return and then leave a bad Yelp with one star stating my concerns. lying to an owner of a restaurant, and saying the food is good when it’s not. It’s bad business it doesn’t look good for the chef involved. Always state facts, even as a chef myself. I always want people that are eating my food to state the truth even if it hurts my feelings. Because you want to be able to excel in your business not demote it. Just my opinion, Plus it leaves a bad taste in not only your mouth but other customers. Plus they are not paying you, you are paying them.
For not only their service, but for the food you’re consuming.
Hi sweetie, I love your videos no matter what your eating. This salad looked amazing. My dad owed a restaurant and always welcomed the feed back from customers. Good feed back was great, but bad feed back was so much better. It let him and my mom know what their customers liked and didn't like. It helped them to make changes when needed. So my opinion is a good restaurant will always appreciate feed back, good or bad. It should never be said in a nasty way and should always be taken in a humble way by the restaurant. Jmo. I would tell them that it is salty so that they could improve their food quality. Maybe that day, the soup was salty for whatever reason and the restaurant didn't realize it.

Aww I haven’t watched you in so long, but I love your videos and convos. Now as far as the restaurant situation, I would’ve politely complained the first time and expressed the concern for salt. But after they completely ignored your request for water and brought more soup, I would’ve been more direct then just leave.

I would have asked for a to go box and bring it home and add my own amount of water till it was to my liking. That way it doesnt really seem rude. Even if you still had to toss it cuz it still wasnt good, at least it wouldnt be in front of them. The salad looked really good and refreshing. See you next time Hyunee! :)

Glad you asked! Hearing your story in my head I was like.. “I hope they said something…” and I got to the part where you did and I was like…”good!” And then you back out…. I was like omg. Me: realizing.. that people are so different. I would have totally said something. You can do it in a non threatening way. I would have just asked. Is this supposed to be this salty?? Because it’s not edible. You never know if that batch they made was too salty and they didn’t know it. I take it as it would be dis-service to the owner if they get great reviews and people are walking away disappointed. It’s just like if you see something on someone’s face or whatever if someone’s pant zip fly was down and not telling them. I’ve had someone see that and they were too embarrassed to say something. I never understood that. To each his own I guess. It’s just weird to me that some people cannot speak their minds. I don’t see anything wrong with it. But people are afraid I guess of making someone feel uncomfortable? I guess. I would want someone to tell me if I’m doing something wrong. Because I may not even realize it.

I probably would’ve just ordered something else. If they would’ve asked about the soup I would had said for myself it’s too salty, but it’s okay.
I'm normally scared to speak up if the food isn't good but if it's in diff country... I wouldn't say anything even more so lol 😅 I feel like in America, it's more normal to have ppl speak up if it's brought up in a nice and respectful manner but don't know how it is in somewhere else like Korea...makes me wonder though.

Excuse me I don't mean to rude but this is to salty. I can't eat this, can u take it back or bring me some water to balance out the salt. I'm sure the manager will be notified and they might come over or not either way. If someone brought me soup instead of water I would've confronted them before even pouring and if they did it anyways. My words to them I didn't ask for more soup may I speak to the manager please. And I would've demanded to get a new bowl or I'm leaving this doesn't deserve pay especially your employee who rudely added salty soup to what was already salty. This isn't acceptable. First and last time ever attempting to spend any more of my money.

Hell yeah I would have told them. I would have gotten a refund.
I would have asked for new. I'd feel bad and keep my mouth shut if I was invited to someones house but if I was PAYING for something and it was inedible like that, I'd want it corrected or my money back.
If you are paying for food I would say something is the food is not good maybe they can pay attention to that and make it better for their business and future costumer, if they get offended then that’s a bad review for them and I will not comeback again
