- In this video, I'll be taking a look at the Gaming Greats Darth Malgus from Star Wars: The Old Republic. Incredible figure... The detail on Malgus is some of the best we've seen. I do wish the mouth piece came off easier, and I'm not a fan of the knees. Now, I do know that knee joints, by design, are held on by a pin. In this case, it just seems a little small and weak. Big fan of the two Knights of the Old Republic games, but never could get into the Old Republic MMO, so my experience with Malgus is the same as you, watched those cinematics online! Very happy to have this guy in my collection tho, he’s huge! Great review for a great figure Matt!
Oh man, those cinematics are so good. Nothing like seeing quick, aggressive light saber duels. Incredible... Yeah, Malgus is definately a big fella - especially having him with other figures - he just dwarfs them. Thanks a bunch for watching, ZooBoy!

Got my Malgus to. He is a beast. Badass figure. I agree they do need more old republic figures. I'd like to see a Darth Bane figure.

The sculpt looks incredible, tons of detail there. He certainly has shelf presence.
I agree with you Matt the knees look as ugly as the ones on the Knight of Ren. If they used pinless double jointed ones (& elbows), they should bend more and the knee pads could be smack dab on the knee. I'd prefer if they went back to the thigh swivel too.
Deluxe fig but no extra hands or Sith lightning. A shame.

Great figure for sure. The joints could certainly be better. But, for the most part, he's just gonna stand on the shelf and look ominous. Some extra goodies would have been great, but that's so rare in The Black Series. Thanks a bunch for watching! 👍🏻👍🏻
Yeah, those kneepads should've been more free floating and the mask should've had the peg system like Bad Batch Echo's helmet instead of removal via head-popping. Either way, they've been killing it with these newly sculpted Gaming Greats figures!
Weird knees and the mouthpiece could certainly be better - but, you are absolutely correct. So many of the new Gaming Greats figures are indeed GREAT. Thanks for checking out the review! 👊

He's a biggun. Been thinking of trying the game for a while. I have just got Battlefront 1 and 2 my original XBox.

And I agree I'd like some more SWTOR figures as well. Actually this Malgus is so nicely done I'm almost tempted to buy another Bastila to try to make a custom version of my character in the game to go alongside him.

For SWTOR I think we really should get Shae Viszla next. Or Eleena Daru to pose with Malgus. The cut scenes and trailers from SWTOR were so damn good.
Both of those characters would look amazing - especially with the amount of detail on each. Yeah, I agree, the cutscenes are very entertaining to watch. It's hard to beat fast-paced lightsaber duels. So good... Thanks for watching, Blackbird! 👊

Hey, thanks. Such an awesome figure... I listened to King Crimson when I was younger. I've always loved Bruford's playing. His work with KC as well as his solo stuff is just incredible. So good... I had it in the mail yesterday. Really impressive action figure and I definitely relate to him because I read the novel. However, he has a problem with loneliness - there are no other Star Wars figures or characters in his timeline with whom he can interact...
Very impressive indeed. Such a cool figure - but you're right, there aren't any others from that time period. I'm hoping one day (since we have Bastila) they'll at least do Satele Shan. We shall see. Thanks for watching!

pins don't need to be super thick to be somewhat strong, the pins attaching the upper legs to the torso are quite thin also as you can see, the pin you talk about, the one attaching the lower leg looks reasonably thick, but it's hard to see clearly. Is the pin as thick as the disc going down in the lower leg? I don't mean as wide of course, i mean as thick, if that makes sense.
something feels a bit unstable when you bend the knees but i don't think it has to do with lack of pin thickness, malak, for instance, is contructed in the same way and his knees feel fine
The knee pin on Malgus feels nothing like the pin on Malak. The one on Malgus "feels" weaker/smaller. It really seems smaller than the "disk" that's in his calf. But, it is hard to really see in there. Now, it could be the fact that the knees on mine are very tight and I have to use more force to bend it. Malak's knees feel much stronger, thicker and much like others in the line. It's no huge deal for me as I have him standing on the shelf just looking intimidating. @@Matt_Bryant the pin has the same thickness as the disc, that's just how these jooint systems are constructed, i think it's matter of how the pin attaches to the upper leg that makes the knees feel a bit less sturdy here
in any case, silicone shock oil is supposed to work wonders with tight joints, never tried it myself though
A hascrap production that absolutely should have been done. Shows that the fans have say. I want more old republic troopers for years and years. Since the vc old republic trooper was released years ago. The one besides the clone commandos i had to get. ❤
Definitely glad they did this one. Amazing figure. There are so many characters from SWTOR that would look incredible in 6 inch scale. The Republic Trooper in particular. Hopefully one day. I appreciate you checking out the review! 👊
